Hi,
I am new to Huawei phones and I am trying to understand these region code. A description of each code will help a lot of us here.
I am now on C636 ROM and would like to know is it safe to flash a C185 ROM?
Thanks.
Hi my friend,
The versión code is
636 - Asia
432 - Europe
Generally the most updated version are those two. If you flash a 432 on a 636 you will get a C900, which will not allow you to receive OTA updates

All of them have basicly the same firmware, some have a higher build number but it's usuly some Language change like Arabic in C185, or some Asian in C432 but the main changes are the same on all non branded firmwares.

Why is Huawei so slow in making the official 7.0 update available for every P9 user? A few people have already received it so how come the majority still don't have said update?

Because its not just up to Huawei to send out these updates. If you have a branded phone, the update will actually come from the carrier, this is why the global models (C432 and C636) were the very first to get EMUI 5.0, because these are international models and the updates usually comes directly from Huawei. If you have a Vodaphone branded phone, then you are really waiting on Huawei sending the firmware to Vodaphone and then Vodaphone will need to do their testing to make sure it works (this sometime takes months, even up to a year) with their frequencies and services. So if you are on anything but C432 and C636, its not Huawei's fault you havent got EMUI 5.0, its your carriers fault.

There is a way to check but I cant remember how but I dont think it is an international model. Even if it has no branding, does not mean its an international version as well. It may be up to your local carrier to push through the update.

I am not 100% sure that the L19 Nougat firmware has started rolling out or not but I do know the L09 (both C432 and C636) has been officially rolled out. If you do some research into it and the L19C636 is getting the official Nougat update, I think there is a way to request for a firmware update via HiSuite.
Did not see the above answer, wrote the same, sorry. P.s. Both me and my friend got update via HiCare, not through settings.

I emailed the following to Huawei UK a few days:
Hi,
When is v7 android going to be released for unbranded Huwaei P9 in the UK.
We are so far behind... Others have had updates ages ago.
Thank
They sent the following reply:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei UK Customer Care.
In response to your query, all the Huawei P9 European devices are planned to receive the Android Nougat update. However, at the moment we do not have any official release date. As soon as your device will be ready to update you will receive a notification and you will be able to commence with the installation process.
I trust that the above information will be helpful. Of course, if you have any other queries, don't hesitate to contact us and we'll be happy to assist.
Best regards,
Jason

Actually you are not alone, here also in the Philippines although Huawei stated that the Nougat update for L19C636 is already out but not everyone is getting it. I myself (using L19C6363) still not getting the update from the Updater nor in HiCare app. Huawei stated that the update is being pushed batch by batch. Since I got tired of waiting I was able to update by using Huawei updater and HiSuite. But still I recommend to wait for the announcement of Huawei to release the update in your region, there are some who use the Huawei updater got their device brick.

I live in Africa, every time I look for the update in HiCare or in the settings, there is nothing. In HiCare I switched from continent to europe then i took France as a country, i erased the cache in the application and i restarted the update request right after i In the B378.
If it can help.
This is a trick that was given to me by a member who often comes to the forum and who had done the update in the same way, thanks to him he will recognize himself.
I have an EVA-L09C432B375, my old version was the B185.
Excuse my bad English.
Updated today my EVA-L09C432 from B360 to B378 (Telekom Slovenia)
I spoke to a guru from O2 UK who actually had a p9 and was informed that the update from O2 will only be released the middle of next month. Long time to wait.?

I emailed Huawei again... this time they asked for my IMEI number to check and then came back with this:
Thank you for Contacting Huawei Customer Services.
Your device has O2 custom firmware on it. This means that until O2 releases their customised version of EMUI 5.x, no update will be released to your device.
As it is a third party developing the customisations, it is not something we have a timeline for.
I am sorry we cannot be of more help in this issue. I do hope you have a great weekend though!
Best Regards, Hank

Looks like we are at the mercy of O2!
I'm on L09C432 and still haven't received the B123 OTA update yet. Should I be worried? Anyone else in the same situation?
My version is still B113. Not done any funny business to the phone software. I did buy the phone in Germany sim free and using it in the UK day to day... does that impact firmware rollout?
No idea if I should be expecting an update. In Thailand, currently using VTR-L29C636B120.
No update too. L09C432 from Belgium.
Belgium too ... No update B123 still un B113
OK, I feel less worried now! Looks like Huawei are really slow in rolling out B123... and also B120!
latest software is B130 and battery life is improved.
Just received the VTR-L29C636B133 update (Thailand)

Hey all. I picked up a sim free version here in the UK (L09). I still seem to be running B120 and the device is not picking up any new updates. I spoke to Huawei and they say B162 is the latest version they are endorsing. Phone or Hi Suite not picking up anything.

Hi, I have the same phone from Currys and I updated it with FF without problem to B179. Then joined the Beta program. After that I did a rebrand to L29 for DS functionality. Then flashed the L09 OEMinfo.bin ( still have DS function ) and after a couple of days I was able to update to Oreo Beta through OTA. But the project in the Beta app is missing.
Hi!
Why is my phone not received oreo yet? I tried everything but i dont want to update with FF and it says not approved for installion. Should i do a FR?

If you stuck on a build it would be helpful if you navigate in settings to the firmware update section. In the menu (upper right corner) choose this: download last full package.
This helped those who got stuck on B151. It might be working on other builds too.
If it does not work then you have to wait unfortunately.
I correct it i stuck on 185 not on 180. And i try this every day but thanks

Hi guys, I found the solution to receive any updates from HUAWEI Servers. I was stuck on EMUI 5.1 and Nougat VTR-L09C432B171 with my Huawei P10 no brand since January 2018. The problem was the foreign SIM card. I just put another SIM (Italian in my case) and I receive one by one all the update until the new one! I hope that this post could help many people all around the world! Ciaooo!

With Samsung all we'd need to do would be flash that region firmware/CSC and wait for OTA, or wait for someone to capture the beta and flash that
The firmware required for the beta seems to match what I have running already but even with a VPN the beta is not offered so I have no idea if there are different region firmwares similar to Samsung we would need to flash to be offered the beta
It is usually (At least with Samsung) not the country you are actually using the phone in that makes the difference, but the region of the firmware your phone is currently running that determines if your device is offered it or not

Well this BETA app works differently. I have disassembled and inspected a previous version of BETA app before. It not only checks your Huawei ID's region, but also checks your current SIM card's MCC region code. The beta project only shows up when:
Your phone's CUST matches the region that offers the beta project
Your Huawei ID's region matches your phone's region
Your SIM card's MCC code matches your phone's region
Although I have no proof, I believe that the regular OTA system updates also check the SIM card MCC code. Back when I was using Huawei Mate 9 Pro (Asia version), I got updates earlier when I insert a Hong Kong SIM card. This might also explain why some people here get slow updates.
