Greetings all
Having this problem after flashing the CF Auto-Root file. The error message "verification failed" displayed when the flashing is complete and reboot. Anyone knows what is missing?
Thanks.
Factory Reset to Pass Verification after Rooting, if you want to revert the Process you must ReFlash stock Firmware
OK now as you suggested. TQ.

I am have a small problem that's a major headache and how someone can help. On my captivate I was having trouble installing the newest version(E:signature verification failure) so I restored via odin3 then tried to root but encountered the same error. So it appears that there is a verification toggle but I don't believe I can do it unless it's rooted. I've also tried master clear also via odin. Any ideas or am i stuck in stock mode for good?

sounds like you downloaded the wrong ODIN3. did you download JI6 or JF6? JF6 will take you back to factory, and JI6 is the leaked FROYO. the leaked FROYO doesnt recovery 2e and you cannot root it the same way you did with 2.1....
that sounds like that could be will try and let you know thank you for the help!
It was the right odin so i'm still stuck.
yeah you were right it was the wrong odin, it had the right name, anyway i'm rooted and ready to install cognition so thanks for the help you rock!
Hi, I have a GSM Samsung Galaxy S here that is running CyanogenMod.
The phone is rebooting at random and getting stuck at the skateboarding CyanDroid during boot.
It still runs sometimes and I can flash other roms through clockwork or ROMManager.
How can I restore it to a factory ROM and firmware?
When I try to use *#1234# to find what firmware it has it, it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code." does that code only work with stock firmware?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
ANKh
I would use Odin to reflash to a standard Samsung ROM and start again. Maybe first make a backup of all your data, because that will be lost (internal).

download the stock firmware from samfirmware.com .. then flash it using odin ..
Go back to stock (can download stock firmware's from sammobile.com) and then flash another rom it could be a problem from the rom itself
Remember to use .PIT file! and check that repartition is ticked.
Shame Heimdell can't also make an image ready for backup later too,
I'd prefer to do that than downloading from some server I've no clue where it's coming from and might do a megaupload at any point

What if I have the I9000M_JL2_JL2_JL2_JL2_UG_BMC.zip containing only the I9000UGJL2_homebinary_add_param.tar file?
Is there any need to tick the repartition option?
i think this is a PDA file and it would be ill advised to tick the repartition option.
But I just need to confirm before restoring from JB CM10

Flash stock recovery in cwm before odin update and see if that works.
I know that cwm have problems reading the sec_csc.zip that gets extracted upon reboot.

I fear i may have bricked my phone...
I was trying to create a custom ROM, set the ROM to wipe data. After i installed the ROM via CWM i got stuck in a boot loop.
I am able to boot into CWM as well as download mode.
Things I've tried:
1) Flashing stock ROM - still boot loop after doing this. It also asks to install an un-trusted package after flashing, not sure what this is.
2) Flash PARAM_I8190.tar.md5 - Still boot loop
3) Restore from backup - Gives me an error "Error while restoring /data!"
I've wiped data, cache, everything... but the boot loop persists.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, no i haven't tried that. I remember saving a pit file a while back but can't find it at the moment.
Is there any other way to get one?
Are they device specific?
Thanks,
scabs
there is one on here somewhere

Yeah i found it thanks, do i have to flash the pit file along with the stock ROM?
with stock rom or kernal
Hmmm, okay I've flashed the PIT file at the same time as stock ROM, and still it's stuck in a loop
Okay this is sorted, i flashed stock recovery then re-flashed firmware.
Thanks David for you assistance.
