I miss the days where you could easily see custom kernels for android phones.
Sigh... anyway, I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this so feel free to move it in case ?
Now to the point... I understand we need to get the sources to even have any chance for this to happen. Does anyone know if this is in the foreseeable future or do we need to email or ask Huawei?
Kernel sources are already available but development on P20 pro is a bit ... sluggish.

@reppi - would you happen to have links for the sources?
I have been researching how to create my own kernel and most guides require me to have linux or such. Isn't there a way to do it via Windows 10?

Hi,
is somewhere a tutorial how to build a vanilla Android for the HTC Wildfire from the source?
CyanogenMod contains too much, I'm looking for a plain Android that looks like that in the

I want to download gapps from open gapps. This might sound kinda stupid but should I select the arm or arm 64 under the platform .....i know it's a 64 bit device but I was told to rather download the other one. I will be glad if this issue is clarified

We have to download arm marshmallow gapps and not the arm64 one. Although the device is 64 bit but all the roms are made according to 32bit ones. There are no 64 bit roms available for redmi 2.
Can anybody please tell me if the 1gb of ram version of redmi 2 is working fine with any of these roms or if the ram is too low? Thanks

All roms work on both 1gb or 2gb ram device. I am not sure about all the variants (HM2014811/13/17/18). [Confirm it before flashing]
I am running CM13.0 by kumajaya on 1gb variant. (HM2014818)

It is written on the original box in which the phone was delivered Or you can even find it behind the battery.
And yes it is the model no. only..
Kumajaya has managed to fix camera bug so now you can get stable CM13.0 roms for redmi 2.

I'm using it right now, working very good!
Sources: (https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/158508/) (https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/160293/) (https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/159735/)
And this is why I think there should be a unified subforum for ROMs and kernels, like how they did with the Galaxy phones. Some of the stuff in the OP3 forums aren't even here, but are marked "unified."
If any mods see this, please look into adding it.

Packaging it with Pixel Launcher would violate licensing so no, that will not happen.

For example i'm on a build of RR thats unified and its not even on the one plus 3t forums.

Simply speaking ,it is a bootloader replacement(or a modified bootloader) by which u can install multiple ROMs and recoveries at same time.U can run a miui ROM,aosp rom,Ubuntu Linux and u don't need any patched kernel or a multirom recovery or multirom supported rom .And no need of confirmation if a ROM can be booted as secondary or primary ROM as there is no terms like that.
@deeps7515 @preetnoobie
Bootloader is the first thing that get loaded in the memory after the device starts. Once the bootloader gets loaded in the memory, it handles OS initialization, and the OS initiates only after that point.
The goal of this project is to generify the process of bootloading, so that any ROM or any kernel can be loaded into memory without any kind of modification at all, through some universal architechture. The technical details are vast enough and quite frankly, even I don't understand many of that.
TL;DR
It will make multibooting buttery smooth in our devices.
if i am not wrong .. now we can also install complete armhf based linux distros??

Well sadly, sailfish still requires some work to be done because of the hardcoded system.mount, and I directly jump into it after I publish the first beta. Right now, I'm experiencing some weird bug that apparantly noone has faced before, and that's why the build is taking longer than expected.
Stay tuned.
Excited..

I think some one ported to redmi note 4 with sd625 soc with necessary libraries and stuff i dont know. May be devolopers need to take a look
If the devs really want to, I'm sure they will.
Right now, the 7.0 ROMs are dying off, and they are working on 8.0 ROMs.
If it is already ported over to this xhipset, it should be as simple as merging it with the some existing source for device specific stuff, and flashing it. Easy for anyone to do if they want. As a side note, this thread is for Google camera, where did the redmi info come from??
