I unboxed it and put in on charge - for about 4 hours now - and it hadn't got above 96%. Does that suggest a problem with the battery?

my 02 XDA Stellar has been working fine since i bought it used about 4 months ago, and today i charged it so it was 100% charged and it was fine and lasted about 5 hours before switching its self off due to low battery, and now it wont charge, it gets to 4% battery and stops, but ive tried a different battery with full charge out of my dads phone in it and it still says its out of charge and switches its self off.
any help on what to do?
The other day I went and bought a USB micro cable for my phone, which was different from the original one provided in my phone's package.
I never used it to charge my phone's battery until 2 days ago, which in the morning I attached the cable to my AC Adapter charger and started charging my battery, that charged in an hour or so. I got somehow surprised because of the speed but I thought maybe I got carried away by work.
The amazing thing is it's been 2.5 days from then and my phone still has something around 15% battery charge on it.
Did anyone here ever charge the phone with any cable other than the one shipped in the package ? Or maybe come accross something like this ? Is it going to ruin my battery ?
I had a similar situation a few months back when my battery was out of juice for about 4 or 5 hours (it ran out in the afternoon and i couldn't charge until much later on that night). After I charged it over night i got about 2 days out of mine too.
Wp7 probably still lacks a consistent and accurate way of telling battery life, so the phone may show it is fully charged when it is not.
Ones i charge the phone 100% i then browse my photos and broawse apps... and suddently my battery is half empty in under 2 hours time... its strange. because im not playing games with it.
I can strech my batter put over 30 hours, but that with turning everything off, It would be interesting to know how you use it, and what you have installed and turned on or off.
I have 2 or 3 days battery life when the phone is on airplane mode. But less than 1 day with regular usage.
the problem is Radio in my opinion.
Hi,
I wondered if anybody had noticed any recent changes in the way that their Note 4 charges. I have a QI wireless charging back, and I've noticed over the last couple of days that overnight my phone charges to 100%, and then stops charging. This means that when I wake up, the phone is a few % off fully charged.
I'm sure that the phone used to charge to 100%, and then effectively stay there until I removed it from the charging pad.
The only thing, other than a change of behaviour associated with a ROM version, that I could put this down to is that I have changed the USB cable I've been using with the charging pad, but I'm not sure how that could have this effect?
Has anybody else noticed any changes with the latest ROM release(s)? I'm using an N910F with the 8933508 changelist.
Cheers,
Steve.
Hi Steve,
Not sure if this is of help, I'm on an N910C with 6.0.1 firmware DPE6, Kernel 3.10.9-7633655. I'm sitting here with my Note 4 on my Choetech 3-coil wireless charger, having just charged it from 83% - 100%. The phone is staying at 100% - in fact I've had the screen on for the past 10 minutes or more, using the phone for various tasks, with WiFi and Bluetooth on, and it's still at 100%. I recently (about 2 months ago) got a new battery direct from Samsung, so that may be a factor. Perhaps your battery is getting past its best?

My battery is a relatively new Anker, and isn't exhibiting any issues (it lasts all day, no problem).

Steve
Recently just bought the power pack that supposedly gives it 40% more battery (from ebay, the person selling it has 99% rating). The LED changed to white on the pack (which means it's fully charged). Now I just got my zenwatch 3 Tuesday, so maybe it needs to go through a few discharges, but I tried the pack with the zenwatch 3, and 12 hours later it's the watch says there is only 12% battery left. Is my battery pack not working? Thank you very much.
i charged 1 hour to see how much battery charged from 1 percent in 1 hour its powered off, before 1 day i tested and see 88% when powered off charged in 1 hour from 1 percent. i tested from 1 percent how charged battery when the phone powered on but dont used , in 1 hour charged 69%. today i powered off and connected charger from 1 percent to see how much battery charged in 1 hour, same 69% when the phone its on but dont used, so how before 2days charged when power off in 1 hour 88%, now the same time and battery charged just 69% same like not powered off phone just charged and dont used, so i though charging fast when powered off, but not...? i mean i charged via fast cable fast charge adaptive when phone its off and when phone its on... hmm weird because just 69 percent in 1 hour when phone was off completely, yesterday i charged when phone was on but dont used so battery charged in 1 hour 69percent via fast charger cable and fast adapter 2W.
