Lost ADB Access...

Hi.
I don't know what happened, but I cant access my phone via adb anymore. I've used adb for months with no problem so far.
The Device is shown in windows xp as "Android Composite ADB Device". I uninstalled an reinstalled the drivers. But ADB and other apps like ddms don't recognize the device anymore.
I'm not sure, but perhaps the problem exists since I installed the modem-driver to use USB-tethering.
USB-Debugging is enabled too...
Does anyone have an idea?
I'm using cyan 4.3.2.1.
Try unplugging your phone, turning it off, on, let it load up, connect it to your comp, wait a good minute or two for it too load up, double check USB debugging, etc. etc.
If it still doesn't work, boot into recovery, connect it, and try adb shell there. ( assuming you have cyan's recovery, or that other custom one, Idr the name xD )
If none of that works, try to re-root using this;
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Upgrading_From_Older_CyanogenMod_Versions
Make sure to backup and stuff, etc. etc.
Hope I helped!

thx a lot for the quick answer, but I tried all of this. In the Recovery (Amon Ras' I recognized the first time, that adb doesn't work)
I can't believe, that I have to re-root... Recovery and SU are still working.
Any other experience with the problem?
p.s.: I unchecked the USB-Tethering and already uninstalled the modem-driver without success...
That's weird, you sure your in the right area on your cmd prompt?
x:\xx\android\tools adb shell
You could also try adb remount and see what that gives you.
I'm just learning the real ADB commands, forgive me, I'm no master
Edit: Make sure to unplug your phone before you uninstall the USB/ADB drivers, and make sure you uninstall *everything* that has android or HTC on it from the device manager.

you gave the right advice...
it's weird. I set adb as variable in windows environment and it worked till today.
Now I started a command prompt in another folder with adb in it and started adb... and it works. weird. I already uninstalled the drivers with usbdeview, restarted etc. a several times and it didn't work. Just use another adb-command finally worked...
thx
Code:
adb devices
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
HT852KV04159 device
Yeah, that happens to me sometimes, where it says the device didn't ACK, or something, but I just unplug it, plug it back it in, and wait a good minute it works flawlessly.
I guess our G1's just get moody sometimes, I know I would if someone changed my innerds and outterds on a regular basis xD

Nexus USB Debugging does nothing

Hey guys,
I have been trying to get my phone connected to my pc for a few days now.
I am having major issues with getting adb to work. I have googled pretty much every solution, tried the drivers posted on here, everything.
It seems that turning on USB debugging on my phone does nothing. I get no new notifications in windows (7), no new hardware, no ADB Composite Interface showing up.
I really don't know what to do next - anyone else have this problem?
Are you able to try plugging it into another computer to check the usb interface isn't faulty?
I have tried it on both my work pc (vista) and my home pc, with the same result.
When I type the command adb devices I just get a empty list.
I put it into fastboot mode and was able to get fastboot devices to list the serial, which is why I think theres something wrong with USB debugging mode on the phone.
Would a factory reset fix a problem like this?
Well I have fully reformatted my pc, and restored the phone and still have the same issue.
You have to install the ADB drivers.
I attached the drivers you need.
If you need more help, let me know.
Still not working - I tried the drivers you attached, as well as previously the drivers from the android adk.
I can get a Android ADB Interface to show up in Device Manager, but the adb devices command just gives me a blank list.
Why is it that I only get Android ADB Interface, and everywhere else on the web I see Android ADB Composite Interface?
W7 x64 and using the SDK drivers mine shows up as Android ADB Composite Interface (at the top, in it's own Android Phone category) with USB debugging enabled.
If I boot the phone into recovery mode, i get Android ADB Composite Interface, adb devices lists my phone, and Android ADB Interface is disconnected.
But when the phone is running, the composite interface is disconnected, and the Android ADB Interface is connected, but adb devices lists nothing.
I have just put on cyanogen mod 6 tonight, and its still the same. Is there any other part of the phone that might cause this?
Tonight I tried on my mates pc, it didn't work, but his desire showed up right away.
It's really frustrating buying a 'developer' phone which I can't develop on.
Well look's like this is a froyo problem with certain devices -
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9437
So from reading the previous link it seems it's an issue with non 00 mac address's, like the wifi issue. My mac address on my nexus starts with 38.
But the updated broadcom driver in cyanogen mod 6 fixes wifi issuse I have, but not the adb issue.
What is the best way to try get something done about this?

Can you use adb over other computers?
Also, try ADB over network. Goto Settings > Developer Options and turn "ADB over network" on. If prompted with a warning, press OK. Then you will see an ip address with a port number under ADB over Network setting. Now open cmd (or Terminal in Linux) and cd to the directory where the ADB files are present. Then type
Code:
adb connect <ipaddress>
Of course, replace <ipaddress> with the ip that you see in the Developer Options under ADB over network. It should be something like "192.168.1.2:5555", enter the whole thing. Then see if you are successfully connected by typing
Code:
adb devices
.
If you are using windows go to control panel and look for "hardware" or more specifically "drivers". It is somewhere there, just look around and you will find it. Then enable adb and connect phone. Then Select your device name from the list and right-click and select appt. drivers.

windows 10 and adb problem

OK, just got my nexus 6 yesterday, and said goodbye to Samsung..
first, plugged my phone into my windows 10 machine, and it instantly showed up in windows explorer, and was able to see all the directories on my phone, so that was good.
I then followed the instructions for installing the ADB/Fastboot installation stuff from here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/how-to-nexus-6-one-beginners-guide-t2948481
Opened the command prompt, typed in these commands, cd Desktop/android-sdk-windows/platform-tools
adb version, and adb version showed up just fine.
Turned off my phone, held down volume and power and entered fastboot mode, but after typing the proper commands, my phone serial number doesnt show up..
I have enabled developer mode, turned on USB debugging, enabled OEM unlock, but still no serial number shows up.
I'm not a rookie, and understand how to use ADB, but I am afraid that windows 10 is the issue..
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for your input:good:
Mod Edit:
Solution found and thread closed at OPs request
You can't use adb in fastboot mode. You can only use fastboot in fastboot mode. Adb only works in android or recovery
thanks, I got it sorted out by installing this..

ADB Unauthorized

Hello,
I got my phone brand new about 4 months ago. I rooted it and got TWRP installed with no issues. Fastboot and ADB were working fine but now when I try to connect my phone via USB and use ADB I get unauthorized whenever I type adb devices. Typically this happens because your phone is prompting you to allow the computer to have root access but I am not getting that popup window at all.
Things I've tried;
Uninstalled ADB/Updated ADB
Deleted adbkey folder under C:\Users\name\.android
Stopped and Started the adb server again after computer and phone reboot
Deleted ADB_keys folder on android in \data\misc\adb folder on phone itself, followed by a restart
Turning off then back on USB Debugging
Turning off then back on USB Debugging & Developer Options
(Including Revoking USB Debugging Authorizations both times)
Even tried copying the following from PC to phone ~/.android/adbkey.pub inside the /data/misc/adb/adb_keys
Still no luck, I'm not sure why it would just stop working out of nowhere. Nothing has changed since I used it a few months ago.
Also another strange occurrence is that if I turn off USB Debugging / Developer Options then reboot. Once the phone gets to the home screen both USB Debugging and Developer Options are enabled again without me doing it.
Anyone else have a similar issue and figure it out?

Go Here and download the Fastboot drivers. follow the directions on the razor dev portal. I had the same issue and this fixed it for me. https://developer.razer.com/razer-p...94.1708481542.1586624574-305520188.1586475530
If your adb-server is not started with root/admin rights, your phone will never prompt you for authorization unless you choose a different USB Mode (MTP, PTP, etc.) than Charge Only. I suspect this is done to prevent certain malicious actions being performed without the user being aware.
If you start your adb-server with root/admin rights (by typing "sudo adb start-server", make sure you've killed your existing daemons before doing so), you can use ADB while in Charge Only mode, provided you've subsequently authorized the PC to do so. However, unlike normal adb server, the fingerprint may occasionally change and you may need to redo the authorization again.
