According to Google this is a build that reflects the final Android L API's (v21) but the system image is not the FINAL build.

Root Access
From the sounds of it, root has been achieved through the means of a modified boot.img. Here is the link -thanks @sykopompos
An alternative method is a flashable zip file. You can download from this post.
How to Install
If you are not familiar with how to use fastboot then I would advise against flashing this build. For a Google created tutorial of how to flash please visit the following link.
Exchange/ActiveSync Fix
Note: Exchange accounts seem to be non-working out of the box. If you want to enable exchange you must install the following apk and then install the email app from the play store. Exchange/corporate will then show up and can sync properly.

Cntrl + Left Click and it will take you to the correct page.

Booted up and I'm lovin it so far. So many changes. Google now is in material design as well. Still flicking through it...

What about other Google Apps?

I am wondering, is it possible to install the image but keep your apps/homescreen/settings? I flashed some roms before, so fastboot is no stranger, but never knew if that was possible

Can you see if there are the new "backup feature"?

2 questiona for someone that can/wants to answer.
1. How to i upgrade from stock/unrooted 4.4.4? Any tutorial somewhere?
2. If I upgrade, after will this installation get the new/final OTA or I will need to reinstall/reconfigure everything?

This is preview build, you can't upgrade (you have to clean install) and you will have to reinstall everything to be in the final version.

Not even exaggerating in the few mins I have played with it, I immediately notice it is speedier plus the new quick toggles for bluetooth and wifi are going to make things much simpler.

I'm currently updating via recovery...I'll run the test for you once I get booted up...It's taking a while to flash the zip.
FYI, If you can't get ADB to work (like myself), you can update your phone with this OTA.zip via stock recovery. Once you get to the android guy laying on its back, hold power and then press volume up to get all the recovery options. From there you can choose "update from sdcard."

Can you post MD5 checksum?
@tjarvis did you receive this ota directly on your phone? Trying not to get stuck in a situation where I have to revert back to a stock image to upgrade to the official update. Release notes indicate this is probably not the official build that will be released to the public since version numbers differ.

I am really hoping that in the final version the camera2 APIs will be in it (I highly doubt it)

Convert image text into editable text using Smart Select???

I heard that this was a thing on previous Notes, but I can't seem to find it here. Anyone know if this feature still exists or was removed? Thanks.

It has been removed unfortunately. However, your best best to do this task would be with optical reader.

Look for camera modules that can be downloaded from the more setting in camera...may be it's there

On my N920C I was on the same boat on stock firmware but I found a workaround, I extracted the SmartClipService.apk (it's the Smart Select option) from an updated rom and it works! I choose Smart Select, I choose a texte then share to the clipboard in full text only or share to Snote and you can edit the text.
For those who want see in attachment for the apk, replace the existing one in /system/app/SmartClipService, set the correct permission (rw-r--r--) and if you are on an odexed rom delete the arm64 folder, reboot in recovery, wipe Dalvik-Cache and you should be good to go.
Maybe make a Nandroid backup before replacing the file, I'm not responsible if something goes wrong...

Hi,
If it's about my post then yes you need root.
The nice thing I noted is that when you click on the "T" after the smart select you can directly copy / paste the text or only a part of the text, like in the first screenshot at the bottom part. I mean I can choose only the word "connexion" for example and copy / paste it without the use of the share option.
It's a shame that the last update for my N920C doesn't have this update... and it's needed to do the thing with the apk from another firmware...

Maybe it's better explained like this :

yes, i'm also on 920c and i really miss this feature...but i'm not allowed to root my phone. Hope they will add it in the next 920c firmware

Yes it works, but you must have root... Otherwise you will need to wait for an "official" firmware update for your model, maybe the feature will comee back.

Need G1 RC29 Firmware.

I Have been searching for the RC29 Firmware to download my htc g1 that i picked up off ebay a week or so ago. all download links i have found around xda lead to long dead file sharing sites.... i really don't want to have a wasted plastic brick of the g1. as i wanted to see what it was like to use the thing, as im a bit of a tech person and such. So if anyone still has the file lying around could you please give/send me a download link?? i have been searching for the past day or so and all remaining links seem to lead to virus filled sites or long dead file sharing ones..... surely this firmware could not have been lost to the test of time. i need to downgrade it so i can forcefully activate it using adb. As i don't have a sim card.

Hey. I have just got a htc dream and thought i would get some of files and try to archive them somewhere they would always stay. For now they are just on my server. Go to godfrey.online and there should be some files there. Good luck

I think you need to sideload updated Google Account Manager with ADB to login, or try to enable 2FA on your Google account, then make an "App Password" and use it for the phone

Because of the password to extract on that mp1 fastboot file i will delete the file.already asking meetohack and its cost about usd100 to bypass/crack password and i cant afford it.sorry guys but you can use the tools for unlocking bootloader or flashing twrp backup.

Clean flash with TWRP -> flash ROM with TWRP -> flash boot.img with TWRP = DONE

Please unzip the rom file and restore via twrp, you will finish mp3. We have this MP3 editing, no personal optimization, personal account .. like the mp3 lock screen activation account shared earlier by Mr. Fros one
