Hello all, I am having issues flashing SuperSu and rooting my phone, I have the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 pro, bought in China. So I have flashed the SuperSu zip using TWRP and it shows that it was installed successfuly, but after rebooting there is no Super Su app and my phone still shows it isn't rooted.
Any help on this would be great! Thank you all.

note 5 pro with android oreo 8.x?
supersu is not fully compatible with android oreo
Oh man! Good to know thank you for the info.
Are any of the other rooting apps that are compatible with Oreo 8.1?
I really want to root my phone so I can use the full gesture mode. Thank you! R.B.

You can use magisk latest version to root your device!
If you have some lags restart your device or just give it some time it stops lagging

What is the actual need of installing a custom ROM for a MI Note Pro device outside of China for a basic user. Does the original ROM provided by Xiaomi not stable one, I believe the Google services can be installed in the original ROM itself. Does the inbuilt ROM not support English within MIUI skin.
Appreciate the feedback
Regards,
Nibin
I have been using the original rom since last August and managed to install all Google services. So far very stable and have not experienced anything wrong. It does support English.
So I don't see any reason you must use a custom rom, but because android is an open platform and the fun part is to modify things to make it more "you" so people like to have options to install custom rom.
That's my 2 cents, and yes, I am Chinese and I do have other xiaomi devices so I don't mind the Chinese apps, xiaomi accounts, etc that pre-installed on the device. If I were a nonchinese user, I would probably just move those in a folder called "not used" and forget about them.
I use the Chinese rom and yes it does support English and works really well the only thing with modified rom you will get is probably improved GPS and thats about it

UK too, I had GPS problems like once but the reason for that was miui update. So instead of downgrading I installed a modded rom and it fixed it

Hi Mr. Kahun
I see you are an experienced user of Mi Note Pro
I have received my Mi Note Pro for few days.
I dont have root and I can not install TWRP on my phone due to the phone had been upgraded to 7.1.5 and 6.1.29 before I got this phone
I researched some forum that 6.1.7 can be rooted. I managed to install on 6.1.7 Chinese Dev Rom via Updater. But it does not root
Can you share me something that I can root my phone
Thank you

Mount system in twrp then flash magisk zip
I'm having the same problem. It is telling me that I can't mount /vendor
Even when I try to flash supersu, it looks like it works but doesn't do anything.
UPDATE:
You'll need a treble compatible recovery
Download this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xi...nofficial-orangefox-recovery-project-t3799540
Then, download a treble compatible version of magisk
The link is in the following thread. It also explains why things aren't working.

HEY GUYS,
AFTER A LOT OF SEARCHING OVER VARIOUS FORUMS, FINALLY I FOUND A DEVELOPED TWRP RECOVERY FOR BOTH MEIZU PRO 7S P25 AND MEIZU PRO 7 PLUS X3O VARIANT.
RIGHT NOW WE CAN INSTALL THE CUSTOM RECOVERY ON PRO 7 (P25) VARIANT ONLY. BECAUSE RECENTLY WE FOUND THE GUIDE TO UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER.
BUT FOR NOW THERE IS NO VERIFIED METHOD TO INSTALL THIS RECOVERIES ON PRO 7 (X30) BECAUSE OF THE LOCKED BOOTLOADER.
STILL I AM SHARING THE LINKS , BECAUSE SOMEONE MAY FIND A WAY TO INSTALL IT SUCCESSFULLY.
HERE ARE THE LINKS:-

Do you have a web source to check their progress?
They are devs and geeks over 4pda, you can see their progress over meizu 16th forums.

Oh, I get it, I'm watching just Meizu Pro 7 forum on 4pda.
It's interesting that someone put a screenshot with working supersu on this device on 4pda forum for this phone. There are no other details provided but maybe the guy will unveil them soon It would be nice if it's working on Global variant.
We tried it, i have a friend from the contributer of that post, well the thing is it really works. You can install super su on flyme 7.0.0.0G. There will be procedure posted soon, but the problem is that if you want to install supersu on latest global stable ie 7.1.0.0 then you cant because the basic need is stock root. And in latest stable you cant root so simply now, for it you have to register over official site. Well that's too lengthy.

Nice
Do you know if this supersu could work on Flyme 6.1.3.2G? For me, battery usage is better in this old ROM than in latest 7.x.
Yes. It works on Flyme 6 flawlessly. The flashfire apk also support Flyme 6, so with super su you can use flashfire to flash latest chinese flyme stable into your device. That means you can install A firmware on Global variant.
If you want guide right now then search meizu m6 4pda forum or else wait for few days we will post guide soon.
i have unlocked my pro7s P25 bootloader and tested twrp for it.

Can you share your guide to unlock bootloader for this device, also share your install log for the recovery so we can work on mount partition bugs. In order to fully test and develop a working TWRP we need more devices to install , therefore requesting you to share your guide to unlock bootloader for pro7 p25 variant. Thanks.!!!

I've check this TWRP's kernel, its size is totally the same with GitHub's developer, androidlover5842, which is also the same dude developed the TWRP in adityadhage's link, 's kernel. Here's the kernal's link, check it by youorself if it's needed: https://github.com/TwrpBuilderTests/android_device_meizu_pro7plus
Have a nice day!
I've been on Android 10 for a month now. It's all working fine and I don't think Motorola will update it to Android 11, so I've been wondering how to root the G7+ now that's on Android 10. I already have TWRP installed. Some people told me I should simply flash Magisk, but I didn't trust it, because I read all last year about how different it was to root a phone on Android 10. I'm sorry if I bother, but has anyone done it? Can you teach me? Thanks.
Anyone been able to root 10 android on G7 plus?
It works!
Yes, I did it. I installed LineageOS and rooted it. But be careful! I think I will write a big and detailed tutorial tomorrow, because this can be really risky!
But it works. I have Android 9 now, and everything works perfect!
LineageOS is not what i want. Is it possible to root stock ROM 30.61-21-3?
Tutorial will be great anyway.

Yes, I am on Stock 30.61-21-3 and rooted it using Magisk 20.4. I installed it from TWRP 3.3.1-0 Lake. Works just fine without issues.
Hello everybody.
I like doing small repairs in electronics. In the past I have reflasced in some wifi routers and installed LineageOS in an old Sansung Grand Prime SM-G531F.
Instead I have not been able to unlock the bootloader of my Meizu M5 (M611H) for months. There are many self-styled guides but in the end they give generic indications for the majority of android systems. For example, I do not need external applications to root because it is provided by Meizu itself through the login on the Flame OS site, and the other thing is that Meizu M611H in the developer options does not have the "Unlock OEM" option. do it via fastboot commands. I'm really desperate ...
Hi, you can flash this twrp recovery with mediatek flash tool.
you not have to unlock bootloader.
Meizu M5 TWRP
Hello. Thank you!
I will certainly try to flash you twrp.
Could you please tell me which is the best firmware you have found for this device?
Thank you very much!

The kernel source code of this device is not open source.
incapable of action.
This device has lineage 14.1, which was created by the Russians, but there are many problems, such as the sound doesn't seem to work !
Only official firmware can be used !

Can I use mediatek flash tool with any Flyme Firmware installed on the M5?
In the past I always reinstalled the first Flyme 5.2.10.3G version
while trying to install twrp.
I currently use the version 7.8.8.31 beta which I found on page Flyme 7 Experience Beta for M5 & M5s.
If I can't install a custom rom, how can I take advantage of the trwp? In addition to doing the root and being able to make a full backup of the rom image?
Thanks Iamverycute!

Yes, you can.
All functions of this recovery are available.
If you try to install Android 5, after restarting the device, this recovery may fail !
