I just noticed this on both the Canadian and the American site.
Would it be in lieu of the preorder (midnight)? Or is it delayed?

Good question. ..I know they already sold out in Australia ..they sold out of the nexus 4 in less then 22 mins from the time it when up for sale in play store out there...lol thats crazy

True, while they are not allowed we still have other VS. threads in the N5 section that have not been closed so it looks like they are letting them stay.
I think they are great and don't understand the reason why XDA would lock them anyway. If people do not care about a certain phone vs. another don't read it. It is not like the titles are misleading like so many other worthless threads that get opened here.

Any SE custom ROM development?

There's a big silence about the MI 8 SE here on XDA, so I decided to ask this question.
I am considering to buy this phone, but without custom rom support, Xiaomi phones worth nothing to me.:silly:

But I enjoy only with custom roms and development!

Yea, prices are dropping heavily on Aliexpress, 2 weeks ago it was ~230-240 USD, now it's going around 300 USD

My mistake, I was referring to the Mi 8 with Snapdragon 845 whereas SE has Snapdragon 710, sorry

Maybe if any admin or moderator of XDA can create a seperate SE topic on XDA, because we have only 8 as of now

It's not only the Mi 8, the same question is on the Mi Mix 2S forums to.
It's is not like Xiaomi redmi note 5 where the Note series have a huge fanbase even that phone is not perfect image retention ghosting etc.
This phones are expensive, and less ppl buy this.
Oneplus 6 development is also not so fast compared to the early days.
The notch have change things even on the Oneplus 6 custom roms based on lineage or aosp are not compatible with the notch so practical useless.

It's perfect by specifications and price, but downside is that probably it won't have global rom and custom rom development still haven't started.
