Conflict between Google account and CM 10.1.3

I bought an HD+ and am having a strange problem/conflict with my Google account. When I first setup my Google account it was working fine but I noticed that the recent apps button did nothing. I screwed up something with the Google account and kept getting a message saying there was a problem connecting to the Google servers. At this point, none of the Google apps worked and I got sync errors trying to sync Gmail. However now the recent apps button was working! Today, I removed 2-step verification and setup an application specific password. I am now logged in on this device, all the Google apps are working but the recent apps button no longer works. I am stumped at this point as to what to do. Suggestions:?
update: the recent apps button is working. It seems to require a different hold time than other tablets. I have now discovered the "magic touch."

Google Now not updating and voice search not working on stock xt1058

Since the last update to the google app there have been issues.
Using an XT1058 completely stock on 4.4.4
Any voice command results in 'cant reach google at this time.' This happens whether I use 'okay google now' to launch or go directly through google now.
Also whenever I open google now the weather is up to date, but everything else like 'stories to read' lists the same stories from a week ago.
If I swipe down to refresh several times it will work, but next time I open google now it's back stories from May 26th
I've cleared cache. Checked sync settings. Checked google now settings, but don't see anything amiss.
It still all works on my nexus 7, so I don't think it's an issue with my account.

gmail is having trouble with google play services?

recently gmail has stopped working all the sudden ive tried updating, reinstalling, etc. but no luck when this happened i havent updated anything(i make it not auto update). reinstalling seemed to work till it tried to sync gmail so im not sure its gmail but i deffenitly need help
only thing i havent done yet is factory reset or go back to stock rom
factory reset fixed issue
You could have tried Wipe Partition Cache.
Be sure Google Play Service permissions are turned on.
Take away just one single permission from Google Play Services and this error will pop up every time you open Gmail.
Body Sensors, Calendar, Camera, Contacts, Microphone, SMS, Storage, Telephone
Clear proof on Google spying? Or where can the full explanation to this be found? .....

Has anyone had issues with Google Now FC when long-pressing home button?

Not sure when it started. I've cleared cache (can't see a way to clear data for this app that doesn't remove search data etc).
I think it happened when google assistant became available. I enabled google assistant which replaced google now as the app launched after pressing home button and google assistant launches fine.

Can't sign into chrome?

I can't seem to sign in to google chrome using my account. My bookmarks and etc. were showing but every time I try to sign it I get the message 'this account already exists on the phone' and my history wouldn't sync. So, I removed my google account and signed it back into my phone.
The google account signed in on my chrome app then it just went back by itself, now I've tried to log in again and it says the same message now with no bookmarks syncing either.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app updates too, not sure what to do from here.
Anybody have any ideas?
same here. deleting the google account or uninstalling chrome does not help.
i manage to auto sign in into all other google aps
This happened to me when I changed my Google password while still logged in on my phone. I backed up via Huawei desktop software and factory reset my phone through recovery and it's all good now. Nothing else seemed to fix it.

Finally managed to fix it! I made sure the app had all the permissions set then I uninstalled all the updates again, this time I signed in first and it ended up working as normal then I just updated the app again and it worked perfectly. Not sure if the apps permission effected it but definitely try uninstalling the updates then signing in first before updating again.

Uninstall Google play services & chrome update first (bring it back to factory pre installed version) then login using chrome first before updating anything.
happened to me before when i update before got chance to sign in
Uninstalling Google play services solved all my problems
thank you this issues solved for me with re-update google play services
Hi all. I also have this issue. Which Play Services do you have to uninstall?
Just give the Google apps permission to your contacts and it will work
