I've set 4 of my own pictures as covers for the screensaver/lock screen and unticked all the other boxes. I still seem to get all the Huawei images appearing though. Had similar problems on my old ZTE - I don't want pictures of croissants and teapots appearing !?
Is there another setting I've missed ?

I think I've sorted the screensaver so it just shows my images but the lockscreen shows my images plus random Huawei ones.
I just want to see my own pictures.

If i open the gallery in my mobile(sga 5830i), the picture appears somewhat blurred.
there are some different color lines appearing at the bottom and also at the top. The lines cut through slideshow and the menu that appear below the picture..
If I open from SDcard/DCIM, the same thing is happening. But while taking pictures from my camera, its very clear.
I rooted my mobile two weeks before as explained in this form and installed chainfire3d. Does these affects my mobile?
Can anyone plz tell me the reason for those lines.. What I have to do?

is the different color lines just only in one photos or all your photos??

you can freeze gallery using titenium backup and install quick pic from the play store , you will not get the blurred images

I would like to know why some contact pictures are showed in full screen while other, with same size and resolution are displayed very small.
I have assigned 3 picture with same size and resolution to 3 of my contacts but only one of them, when called (or when he calls me) the display shows the picture in full screen mode.
Does this happen to you also?
I don't want to use any application for full screen caller, I don't like it..

I just bought a brand new Moto xt 1058 unlocked. There is some strange background on all screens even in the boot screen. You can see some words like " talk more" etc. Does anyone know how to get rid of that?
I made a photo of the screen using another phone. By the way, if I make a screenshot, the background is not seen on the screenshot.
It is not clear on this picture, since the image is compressed. However if it is downloaded and viewed by a photo viewer, you can see some pattern and text in the backround
Are you sure it was brand new? It could have burn in on the screen. Common problem with amoled displays.
Looks like it was a demo unit and the screen burned in there little marketing images...
If you bought the device in the last year I would return it for screen burn in.

has anyone had a problem viewing images taken with other(older) phones and when they are transferred to 1+3 they don't show correctly?
I cannot post screenshots atm but it's like this: pictures taken in portrait mode are displayed stretched and pictures taken in landscape are normal. It's the same weather I rotate the phone or not but then I go to edit the photo (the pencil option at the bottom) it scales the image the way it should be(just in the editing software, not in gallery).
Hope I explained it, I'll try to post a screenshot.

I have a few hundred photos brought from my previous phone (ASUS Padfone 2) and everything is displayed correctly ...
Did you change DPI or anything else that could affect gallery?

I did not change a thing, just transferred the images on my 1+.
The funny thing is that the images I had taken with HTC desire and had them stored on my last phone (LG G2) are all displaying correctly so only the ones I took with the G2 are messed up.

Ran into this really strange issue in 2019!! So on my S8, low res profile will be automatically converted to high res once I dragged the photo of the contact down. But in S10, it does not do this. Profile photo is still the low res in the small round circle.
Even I have managed to change the photo to high res, the res does not stick. After a few hours or few reboot, photo would be back to low res.
Any clue how to get back the high res contact profile photo or at least make my selection stick?

Same here.
My previous phone was a LG G7, before that Oneplus 6T & Oneplus 5. I still have the LG & 6T which I haven't reset to factory as yet. On all my previous phones the contacts that I assigned a picture to would, once synced have a small circular thumbnail when in the contacts list & if I clicked on a particular contact the top half of the screen would be the full res picture.
When I set up my Galaxy S10 all the same contacts would only show up as a small low res circular pic. I thought it was something I did so I edited all my contacts by re-assigning brand new updated high res pics. On the S10 they would initially show up as intended i.e. top half of the screen lovely full res pic, but after a few minutes they all reverted back to the crappy small circular low res pic.
I checked back to my 2 older phones and they had updated all the contact pics and all in lovely full high res.
Is this a quirk with Samsung phones & something I have to live with or is there a hidden setting somewhere that can rectify this annoying problem.
I am surprised at the level of the response here!! Thought everyone had this problem?
I have a Samsung S8 and some contacts have full resolution photos and some not...
Even if I change the photo of the contact to a high resolution one, it works for 1-2 minutes, but then it automatically becomes small again...
Any idea???
Just a quick update on this. After updating to the March 2019 patch, it appears the issue has been resolved. Now if you tap on the small circle profile pic, it will expand and shows the high res pic !
Nope. I am still having this issue with my S10. Any updates/ideas?
It got resolved after an update last year while the S10 was still on Android 9. Now after the update to Android 10 this issue has come back.
