Means?

Those twrp themes are awful compared to TWRP Materialised. One of the first to come out when the theme engine was introduced to twrp back in 2.8.7.0. Simple, elegant, and functional. Custom colors and splash screens are also supported.

beatiful
amazing

plees give me theme avanger link

I am pleased to report that all of the themes compatible with TWRP 3.2.1.0 are also compatible with TWRP 3.3+. Instead of flashing the zip [just as a precautionary measure], I took the liberty of downloading the theme of my choice and renamed it to "ui.zip".
Transferred it to my device, opened TWRP folder and created a folder called "theme", without capital letters.
Copied ui.zip to theme folder.
Restarted to recovery which automagically discovered and implemented the theme.

for those with bootloop after new theme flashes...my fix

on the last couple superclean roms, the first theme flash was perfect...when attempting the 2nd theme flash, i would bootloop and get 1 vibrate followed by 3 more. i simply copied the android.policy.jar, framework-res.apk, sevices.jar, and twframework-res.apk in system / framework and placed them in a zip just like a theme would have them. i copied these from the superclean rom using root explorer as soon as i freshly loaded the rom for the first time. before a new theme flash, i flash this zip (that i named stocktheme.zip) then the new theme...no more bootloop this way. i guess the bootloop is caused when the themes different framework files are loaded over each other. basically, i go back to stock themed superclean between each theme flash, and its been working flawlessly for me this way. hope this can help others too.
i made the stocktheme.zip by downloading a theme for the rom (props to all themers out there) longpressing zip in root explorer, extracted all, went to extracted, deleted all files in system / framework, pasted my 4 files mentioned above, longpressed on themes folder name in extracted, chose zip this file. hope this helps others.
This sounds like EXACTLY what I am going through... I am just having a hard time following your instructions on how to fix lol

I know that if this is a consistent fix, you could package it as a zip file (specific to the ROM); - put up your fix and see if we can duplicate your efforts.
here is a link to the zip i use for myself...i am on superclean 2.6
http://db.tt/X4TmlyE
here are some easier instructions...sorry i was rushing before...
-download any theme made for superclean
- using root explorer, go to downloaded theme (zip) & longpress on it
-press extract all
-go to sd card / extracted
-longpress on theme folder & change name to stocktheme
-press on stocktheme folder
-there will be a meta-inf folder & a system folder
-press on system
-press on framework
-delete all files in framework & paste your 4 files in here
-go back to stocktheme folder (sd card / extracted)
-longpress on stocktheme folder & choose zip this folder
-that will be your new "stocktheme.zip"
-the zip will be in sd card / speed software / zip
Damn, didn't work

Thanks. Will give it a whirl when I roll back to 2.6 - currently running 2.7
im on superclean 2.6, nonvoodoo, eb01 kernel fwiw...switched between superdark / honeycomb / nitrodark with no bootloop at all when using my method...sorry something if something went wrong for you.
Only difference is I am on voodoo... I can disable and try again but it just doesn't make sense because I didn't disable originally.
It's weird man I can't even restore my VA Green theme that I backed up. Fc hell

[Boot Animation] ctOS Boot Animation

Hello!
So I've been playing a bit of Watch Dogs as of late, and decided that I wanted to go ahead and make a ctOS-style boot animation, emulating the geometric hacker-looking loading animation you see in the game;
I went ahead and found this video of the animation I was looking for, and formatted it into a 1080p boot animation for my OnePlus One, and any other 1080x1920 resolution phones.
Click Here To Download The CM11/CM12 Version From Google Play!
OTHER LINKS ARE DOWN THIS WEEK UNTIL MY GOOGLE DRIVE IS UPDATED
I've attached the two ZIP installers to this OP in the meantime:
Installation Instructions:
The first download link is the Google Play link for my CM11/CM12 version, it works with any ROM that supports both the CM11 Theme Engine, and the new CM12 Theme Engine!
The other 2 attachments are flashable ZIP files - one for 1080p phones, and the other for 720p phones - just reboot to your recovery (TWRP or CWM), and flash away! The installer backs up your previous boot animation, and applies mine. It's that simple.
A huge thanks to Flashalot for making the ZIP for me, and now thanks to exxxistent for making a 720p version installer too!
ATTENTION -- for any ROMs using the CM11 or CM12 Theme Engine, use the Google Play link above; any of the following methods will only replace the stock boot animation for the ROM with the one you install. Therefore, any themes you apply other than the stock ROM theme will supersede my boot animation and use the theme's instead.
To install via your phone:
Download the bootanimation.zip file, and open up a root file explorer to find where you downloaded it to
Now go ahead and navigate to your /system/media folder (you may need to allow your file explorer to mount system as read/write for the next step)
Find your current bootanimation.zip, and rename it to bootanimation.zip.bak (just backin' up your original one)
Now copy the downloaded bootanimation.zip into /system/media, and make sure the permissions for the zip are RW-R-R (octal 644)
And it's installed!
To install via ADB:
Download the bootanimation.zip file from the download link above, and find the file in your computer's file manager
Open up the folder where you have your ADB binary, and copy the bootanimation.zip file into that folder
Connect your phone to your computer via USB, and make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your phone
Open up Command Prompt (PC) or Terminal (Mac), and type:
Code:
cd [THE FOLDER ADB IS IN]
** For Mac users, you may need to type in ./adb instead of just adb, if you get a "command not found" error
Now, type in the following, hitting enter after every line:
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /sdcard/bootanimation.zip
adb shell
su
mount -o remount rw /system
mv /system/media/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip.bak
cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /system/media
chmod 644 /system/media/bootanimation.zip
And you're good to go!

I'm currently working on a variant of this animation, in which the beginning part loops and then the animation ends on the ctOS icon, like it does if you are waiting for the game to load. I've figured out how the Android L and M boot animations implement a closing animation, so it shouldn't take long to recreate the 1080p version to start with.
Enjoy!
hey bro!!
I like this bootanimation.
my mobile doesn't supports the .gif format, so can u make this .zip for me?
Do you want the previews I made in a zip format? Because the bootanimation itself is in a JPEG series format that should work for any 1080p phone.
Very nice!
Is this just download and flash via twrp?

It is not. It's to push to /system/media and to set permissions to at least rw-r-r.
That is a great idea for a boot animation, but wouldn't it be nicer to make it an apk instead of zip and use the CyanogenMod theme engine to set it as boot animation?
Is it possible, can you make it or perhaps someone here who knows how can help you?

Thanks a lot. Just flash and good to go. I wonder if this will work on the htc m8?

It should work on any 1080x1920 resolution screen, so you should be good to go. As far as the installer goes, just make sure your bootanimation for your ROM is being loaded
from /system/media, and you should be fine using it with your m8.

That's a great idea! I went ahead and started looking into making CM11 Theme Apps, so once I've made one for the bootanimation I'll put the Google Play link here.
This is epic, I love it. :good:
Thanks for de-mystifying this for us.
I wanted the stock CyanogenMod "cid" animation on my One, and your explanation made it dead easy to accomplish.
Very nice. Thank you.
Looking forward to more!
Very very nice ... Love it
The stock bootanimation + ctOS style has to be something awesome. Can you do it?
Thanks for your work!

you know what, you may as well copy the "bootanimation.zip" file to the /data/local/ directory, change permissions to rw-r-r and then reboot. you get the same effect without renaming any file at all. for me it's cleaner and may not break future OTAs.
Did not work on Mahdi rom flashed via TWRP
Edit: Also tried with adb shell... the file is copied correctly but boot animation is still stock !! how is this possible ?

If you're referring to the stock Android L boot animation, then yes, I'm already working on it! Classes just started for me, so I may be a bit busy for a while, but I'll work on this as much as I can.

That's true, it's definitely easier... I prefer doing everything manually if I'm going to do anything manually at all, so I guess that's why I like renaming files and working in the /system/media/ directory

So sorry it couldn't work for you! It looks like Mahdi ROM may not be working with any custom boot animations right now, so I've added that to the OP. I've also contacted the dev to let me know when that's been resolved, so we'll just have to sit tight and wait until that's working again....

Got it working !! apparently the issue is themesshowcase App ... If you set a different bootanimation from stock , the .zip file is picked up from local folder of the theme. so even though i copied the file to correct location , it was the stock location. i.e what you have mentioned in OP. After i switched to stock bootanimation via Themesshowcase app , it loaded ctOS animation very nice animation !! thanks for the work !

Perfect, thanks for letting me know! I'll go add that to the installation instructions, and remove that Mahdi ROM is incompatible. The dev actually just got back to me and told me boot animations work fine with the ROM, so it's good to hear there's just a workaround required for manual insertion via my flashable zip. Otherwise that would've sucked for everyone using the CM11 Theme Engine...
If I want to switch back to stock can I change it from the theme manager or do I have to reflash the stock animation as well?

I'm going to add all of this to the OP when I get a free minute here, but the CM11 Theme Manager will see my installed boot animation as the stock one that comes with the ROM, so you will have to manually restore the old one before seeing it in your default theme again. You can change to another boot animation via the Theme Manager, but the stock one will stay as mine until you either flash the "undo" zip file or manually replace the backed-up stock boot animation.

Hi Community,
By Request Soundgirl101 here is another bootanimation for the LG G2 VS980, base on the awesome video game Assasin's Creed and pretty sure can be use for any 1080p Screen Resolution out there as well.
How to Install NON-FLASHABLE ZIP:
---------------------------------------------------------------
1- Transfer the Zip file to your Device (I personally have a Folder with the name "Boot Animations")
2- Rename the Zip file to bootanimation.zip ( the .zip is just the extension so no need to add that part)
3- Using the ES File Explorer (the one i use) go to /System/Media rename the current bootanimation.zip to bootanimation_Original.zip (so that way you have a backup of the orignal in place)
4- transfer the file to /system/media using ES FIle Explorer
5- go to Properties and change permission to RW-R-R
6- Reboot and Enjoy.
---------------------------------------------------------
Download Animation file :
Click Here to Download the NON-FLASHABLE File
---------------------------------------------------------
How to install Flashable Zip :
------------------------------------------
1- Copy Zip file to you phone (i prefer having a Folder name Boot Animations and have the files there)
2- Reboot to Recovery ( i'm using TWRP but case is with any other custome recovery )
3- Go to where you have the file
4- Flash the Bootaniamtion
5- Reboot and Enjoy

Download Animation file :
Click Here to Download the FLASHABLE File

P.S. the final part where the logo is i had to create one for the end so you won't find that anywhere except in my AE project files , I was going to do it a little animated but time was short and i mean the sequence of the images have to work for final output for 7 sec. time frame for the animation the get it right....
P.S.S if you Have Flashify you can use that instead.
:highfive::highfive::good::good: Absolutely awesome!! Far exceeded my expectations!! Truly sweet-ass work, will spend all day rebootin' just to show your awesomeness!! :good::highfive:

[THEME][TWRP] Material Curtains

Made some TWRP curtains in Material colors. These where made for my Nexus 6 but will work with any device with a QHD display (1440x2560).
Inspired by z31s1g's "Holofied" Curtains. Not as good looking but they work for me. For bonus swag use gaich's Material TWRP themes for QHD screens (based off z31s1g's).
Some screenshots for your eyeholes:
Zip file includes 20 Curtains.
But How do I replace the Curtain???
1. Download the Android Image Kitchen.
2. Extract it into any folder.
3. Drag your Nexus 6 TWRP recovery.img onto the "unpackimg.bat" file.
4. Go into ramdisk\res\images\.
5. Replace original curtain.jpg with one of my replacements (rename to curtain.jpg).
6. Go back to the starting folder and click "repackimg.bat".
7. Flash the resulting "image-new.img" from fastboot (from CMD: "fastboot flash recovery image-new.img" [without quotes]).
8. ???
9. Profit.
This may be a dumb question but where is the TWRP image on the phone or do we download a new one? I found a .twrps file in the TWRP folder but that's all.

You have to re-download the TWRP image from the official site and uncompress it to replace the curtain.jpg.
Once you have the .img file just follow the instructions at the end of first post.

OK I'm just making sure that I'm not crazy. Thanks for that I'll give it s try now
Edit: what file explorer are you using to drag it onto the unpack.IMG? I'm using efs and its not letting me move it into it even when I drag it.
If its not too much to ask, can we have one with a black background and white letters? Clean and minimal as possible? Thanks!

Materialized TWRP theme by z31s1g

I love the material theme for TWRP by z31s1g, so posting a link to the material thread and downloads folder. No mirrors please as requested by the developer.
Link to the Downloads:
1080 Download folder
Link to the original post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/theme-twrp-materialised-dark-light-play-t2915584
Just one thing more:
I couldnt put the theme zip using file manager neither through terminal emulator. As a work around I used the file manager in TWRP to move the zip and reloaded the theme. Hope to confirm this from others whether this is a bug or just one off trouble just affecting me.
How to ...
...install the theme:
The theme zips are not flashable. First installation has to be done manually:
Download the theme of your choice and rename it to "ui.zip".
On SD card (if device has internal and external storage, use the internal) open TWRP folder and create a folder called "theme", without capital letters.
Copy ui.zip to theme folder.
Restart to recovery.
