Syhost is working on a new Android version 5.1 lollipop for Redmi note 4g. It's not released yet.

Is there any future of ROM development for Redmi 4X(santoni) ?

Searching the whole Redmi 4x a.k.a Redmi 4(India) thread on XDA I came up to know that xiaomi has not released kernel sources yet. I was looking forward to buy this device but looking at the lazy response from manufacturer I doubt the development and getting it. Share your thoughts and suggestion down below. Should I get this device or get Lenovo zuk Z2 plus which is available around the same price ?

I'm waiting for a deal to get one for my mom. I'm happy so far with my Note 4X (SD 625) which I'm running with Resurrection Remix, so I think a slighty downsized and down-specced version would be great for her. If there is no custom firmware in the near future, she'll be fine. I wouldn't wanna miss LOS or RR on my phone, but MIUI isn't bad for lots of people.

There are already a few custom ROMs for RM4X like yurekaOS based on nougat 7.1.2 and as i read in forums it seems to be running ok for the most users.
Still i wouldn't expect too much in custom development. see RM3S for example. there are ROMs available but development goes slow
So if you are no friend of MIUI (and upcoming MIUI 9) and want lot of custom development then you might consider buying another phone.

any plans for CM 13.1 or Lineage equivalent for Redmi Note 4X Qualcomm not built on nougat?
Need Android 6 as 7+ doesn't allow for USB bus speed auto-negotiation, which is "kinda" big deal in my application.

Android 8.0 Oreo thread for H811

Has anyone started work on Oreo for H811 or does anyone have any idea when will AOSP roms like Lineage OS be made for our H811....

Do u mean 7.0 lineage os, cuz there is some ROMs to choose from in the main lg g4 thread

Don't think anyone is working on it. They are still trying to fix 7.0. There has been a test firmware released for the international variants, so they are busy making ROMs based on that in hopes that a final release comes out. Doesn't work for our phone though. A not so good thing is that lg has just said they are not supporting security patch updates for our phone anymore.

The LG G4 is on a confirmed list of devices getting Lineage OS 15 (Android 8.0 Oreo). It's only a matter of time
Currently no Oreo roms are available for LG G4.

It seems android o development for H815 and H811 is dead in the water.. Or am i wrong ? Is there anyone working on porting android o or is it hopeless?

Development i think is done if enough people are using a particular device and H811 is falling in that regard/ now its at 245th place with 910 active downloads. So yeah like i said earlier its dead in terms of development. Also i found another thread for Oreo but that developer also bought a G6 so that project is dead too.

OK just talked to kessaras and he told me he is working on Oreo but he has no support and he is the only developer working on it so obviously its going to take a long time. But he is working on it.

Building AOSP 4.4.2

I am really new to the scene, i installed a bunch of custom ROMs and that is that.
I have my Redmi 4X and i want to find a custom ROM based on Android 4.4.2 however there isn't any.
I found the source in /platform/build/+/android-4.4.2_r1 on android.googlesource.com however i do not know how to build it.
Any ideas how?

Redmi 4x (santoni) was released with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, there are no earlier ROMs for it.
