Hi. I am editing the file mixer_gains.xml to increase the sound of the speaker and there is no way to increase or decrease the sound, the same sound level always comes out. It does not work editing the file.
Any other secret file to increase or decrease the sound level?
It should work, Check you have the correct access so the file is saved.
Which exact values are you changing?

if you want louder ringtones, you can make them via RINGTONE MAKER, in that you have the option to increase the volume more than the actual song and phones capability

in order to modify (loudness, boost, etc..) each audio file i could also have them exported and remanaged through Audition for instance and then copied back to phone.
but that's not my aim...
Did you tried voodoo sound?

i'm used to voodoo sound + volume+ by meltus.
voodoo sound standalone does not allow any speaker volume hack.
Well, you could rise the amplifier. Also, in Voodoo sound, the option "Tune speaker for music" makes the sound less loud.

which amplifier do you mean?
the thing i can hardly understand is
if there is a routine through which overall volume can be amplified x 20 levels (such in Volume+) -sometimes at cost of crashes or brickings, naturally!-
why is the code not of public domain?
I.tried numerous apps to increase overall external speaker sound several mods nothing has worked was wondering is there something that can b done within the sys registry that will actually send a command to the external speaker to raise the volume.......a script or something .....

What ROM you are running?
Many JB kernels have In-Call Volume options in Advanced settings.
You can't increase the volume above build-in amplifier/speaker limits.

If music plays fine, then your speaker is good. You have 3 more things to check:
- What is notification and ringtones volume settings level? Set all sliders to max.
(you probably did)
- Is Ascending Ringtone (in Interface > Sound) enabled? Check Ringing Start Volume and Increase Interval settings.
(set about 40-50% volume for Ringing Start and 2sec for Increase Interval)
- What files you use for notification and ringtone? Some mp3 files are just recorded with low volume level.
(your problem most likely, try with default sounds and find something louder and high pitched)
was looking around mixer_paths.xml and i see it has changed from what i'm used to with the lg g2. i dont see a section that specifically has "headphones". i'm trying to increase the headphone volume. does anyone know which area of the mixer_paths needs to be changed to increase volume? i tried increasing "speaker and headphones" rx7 (because that's what was used to increase volume on the g2) but after a reboot i dont notice any increase. any help would be appreciated.
i figured it out. use a text editor that has root and navigate to system/etc. open up mixer_paths.xml. scroll down to the section "play scenario". in that section you'll see "path name="headset". in headset section you'll see rx1 and rx2 digital volume. change the values to what you want up to 100. i have mine at 88. at 88 i can keep the volume around 60% and it is loud with no distortion. so now i dont have to max out the DAC in the phone to get high volume.
if you want to do the speaker do the same steps above for the section "path name="speaker"" and change the rx7 digital volume value.
hope this helps others.

thanks. worked like a champ
Thanks 100 times. Now I can really take advantage of my Monster Beats with my Android device. Turn up.
And for earpiece volume?!what lines i will modify?!
Can anyone help increase the volume of my z3c using mixer paths, the other mixerpaths.xml floating around on the cross device development board doesnt work with the z3c, i lose all sound.
I have edited the mixerpaths myself, but i find that the only volume that increase are the dialing tones and system sounds, NOT any music or youtube videos.
i need the extra volume for podcasts when im in the bath
In the past you could modify mixer_paths.xml to increase max volume but I don't see that file anywhere on Android 10. Anyone have any suggestions
EDIT: I found the mixer paths file but don't see any values to modify to increase volume.
