Some games and apps load in 16:9 ratio, is there anyway to force them to 18:9, root or no root (no root preferred)?

Hi,
I've noticed if I increase DPI I can no longer download some apps and the market does not show the new Movies feature. However if I change DPI to highest res after downloading one of the Apps (when at lower dpi) the app seems fine.
I am on CM7. Is there a way of getting round this without having to switch DPI back and forth?
Thanks
Some games that I play look like they're been squeezed so I assume it's cause the game doesn't support 4:3 ratio. Is there a way to make certain apps change aspect ratio so it doesn't look like it's been squeezed?

The only way I know requires rooting your tablet and installing xPosed framework. Look for the App Settings module which lets you fine tune almost all aspects of an apps' display, including the DPI, on a per app basis.
Hi guys,
I use stock Marshmallow ROM with the latest security updates available, and the device is rooted via SuperSU.
I don't want to use the Exposed+App Settings solution in order to enable per-application PPI settings, so the only way to get more screen estate AND all options working in the Motorola Camera is to use the 240 ppi density.
What I'd like to know is if there are any issues that block using 240 ppi density on a daily basis—like misbehaving apps, higher battery drain (I have Force GPU Rendering enabled in dev settings), hardware issues, etc.
Please share your experiences, and thank you in advance!
Hello, is it possible to change the resolution of this phone without root? I play FIFA Mobile on it and it lags. So i'm looking for a save method to change the resolution.
Enable developer options, there you can change dpi (smallest width).
OK, thanks! The basic dp is 360 on my phone. For better performance without lags what should i enter?
I can't enter a value less than 320. So it not really helps...
I noticed that Snapchat constantly runs at 60 hz and also if you use the google maps pop up and scroll through other apps while having it open on the screen, it runs at 60 hz.
Is there any mod/app which forces 144 hz in every situation?
i think that is app issue due most apps are not really optimized for runs more than 60Hz
You can force it to 144Hz under Display > Display refresh rate.
However, forcing the screen to 144Hz may cause unnecessary stutter. Many app/games run smoother in 60fps which they're designed for. If the video content is in 30fps, it plays smoother at a multiple of the frame rate - like 60/120hz.
Use Motos gaming app, I am forcing snap and maps with that
