Note 8 GPS not working after latest August security update - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

I have tried everything I can find on the internet to try and get my GPS to work again as I use it very often, does any of you here have any fixes for this issue?
Or is it just a case of waiting for another update to find out whether it was the update or hardware issue?
Thanks:good:

Mine still goodtimes fine.

Can't confirm.
GPS works great, also inside.
Try the app "faster GPS" and set the NTP server to your country.
Change GPS settings to GPS only
Then disable WiFi and mobile data and start the app GPS Test. You should get a GPS fix between a few seconds. View attachment 4574651
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts

Try wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode. It could be a software conflict.

Just did and it didn't work, also flashed the previous update before my phone broke and that also hasn't fixed it...

In that case. I would backup all the data on your device and perform a hard factory reset. If that doesn't work then you need to take your device to a Samsung Service Center

Happened to me as well. All sensors are dead.

cannot get GPS fix note 8. (middle east)
to OP, did you manage to get the gps fixed? my note 8 can see satellites but cannot get a fix. (a-gps works) happened after the last update.. factory reset, cache wipe etc done to no avail..

Similar problem,
my GPS works for few days after a factory reset, then stop to find satellites.
If I reboot the phone GPS works again and find satellites immediately, but just for few minutes.

Same here... Sensors are at 0, gps doesn't work. It started after september update and latest version doesn't resolved problem. To be honest i don't know what's to do. Wiping cache, restoring... Nothing helps.

[Q] *#*#3214789650#*#* GPS Settings Not Working

The above code does not display the GPS Setup on DXJPE.... Any other way to access GPS?
BTW, GPS works faster since I upgraded to JPE. I only encountered this when I read thru overcome Tips and |Tweaks....
Try only *#3214789650# & report back.

I cannot place it as a call(pressing call button,is what you mean?)
The numbers disappear from the phone app after I enter the last #
Ah ok I think your angryGPS is fracked. Try a factory Reset if it didnt work reflash.
Thank you for advising. GPS is working ok so at the moment I will not factory reset just to get the GPS settings all lose all customizations in the process.
Update: Used Titanium to backup. Then, downgrade via kies to JK2(number code is working on this version, tested it) then update to DXJPE thru kies. Still problem exist. Then factory reset and reflashed JPE problem still there.
DEFINITELY A DXJPE BUG....although I don't experience any problem with gps,but then I only use gps in Maps.....I even installed GPS TEST and it was ok.

Bluetooth crashes OP3T on newest LineageOS builds

Hi,
with the newest builds of LineageOS for the OnePlus 3T im facing similar problems like in this post here ...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/help/lineage-os-bluetooth-crashing-op3t-t3561225
This applies both for the 20/03 and the 24/03 build. When I enter the settings and go to the Bluetooth section and there enable BT, the phone becomes unresponsive for some time and then reboots. What I found out is that if I enable BT via the status bar shortcut, everything is fine and my previously connected device (gear s2) reconnects stable. But if I then enter the settings and just click on the BT section entry, same story again, phone becomes unresponsive and then reboots. I flashed the ROM and then the OOS Firmware 4.1.0. Phone is rooted with SuperSU.
Have you tried a clean flash?
not yet. just dirty flashing with wipe cache and dalvik so far. i guess I'll give it a try then.

I don't know what did the trick now but this is what I was trying...
I cleaned the cache + data of the Bluetooth system app and reinstalled BusyBox, then rebooted. The problem seems to be gone, no more crashes and freezing OS. Will leave it like this for me now. Just wanted to let you know as I don't seem to be the only one with this issue.

All,
just wanted to give an update on this topic and hope for a solution
As the problem was coming back I decided to go for a full wipe and clean flash of the latest LineageOS version for the OnePlus 3T from this thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/development/rom-lineageos-14-1-t3547024
After I restored my apps I activated Bluetooth on the device and flawlessly connected my Smartwatch, a Gear S2. All good, all fine, all working.
AFTER that, when entering Settings => Bluetooth on the OP3T, there are 2 possible scenarios:
1) No other Bluetooth devices are around and emitting, the search stops after a few seconds saying that "no other BT devices are detected" ... makes sense.
2) There are other Bluetooth devices around and emitting, and based on my experience only one device is sufficient. The search goes on and on and on, after a while the screen freezes, and then the phone warm resets.
I was able to reproduce this inside my car when I tried to connect to the car audio system and also with my Bluetooth headset. Devices turned off => scenario 1, devices turned on and ready to connect => scenario 2.
Any idea here?

OnePlus 3t Bluetooth not turning on

Hi guys I really need some help. It's been quite a few days now since my Bluetooth isn't turning on. I've tried clearing cache n data for Bluetooth apps and services in application manager but still no luck. This is what happens when I try to turn on Bluetooth... (Check screenshot)
The switch just fades and Bluetooth doesn't really turn on at all. And after a while the switch turns off by itself. Please help.
I also tried flashing another kernel (from stock) but still no luck. I'm on OOS 4.1.7 with Blu spark r174.
It had stopped working since I was on stock OOS (non rooted) and then I rooted and installed Blu spark but still no luck.
I have tried clearing app cache and data of Bluetooth share app, reset network settings even tried factory reset, still no luck. OOS 4.1.7.
Someone please help.

If it isn't working after factory reset, most probably it is a hardware problem..
Another issue that I've heard off is related to the encryption of the storage, but i don't think this is the case now

But then the system acts weird about Bluetooth. When I try to turn it on (notice I do get an option to turn it on), the switch flips on the other side (switching ON) but fades n does nothing. And if I move out of settings and come back to Bluetooth section, it goes back to off. I kind of have a feeling it's a software problem n just needs some system modifications. But I really don't know, really need some expert opinions, please help guys.
Full wipe and try to downgrade to earlier OOS version..
( 4.1.5 ) or try another custom kernel ..EX or Dorimanx....

This happened to my dad on another phone and after a while the wifi died as well. It's a hardware issue.
I had the same issue 2 months ago. tried to switch back to stock and everything, it did not work. So I sent mine back to Oneplus, it was a hardware problem and the motherboard had to be changed. It sounds like you are unlucky as I was.
Just dirty flash your Rom and check if it works.

When folks say "factory reset" they most usually means just using the option "factory reset" in stock/custom recovery, or in phone Settings. All those do, is wipe user data. SO the problem will only be solved if some problem/incompatibility with user data was the culprit (does not actually "restore" any software/firmware).
I would suggest flashing the full 4.1.7 (or even early version) zip to restore to full stock, which I think is more what you meant.
This has happened to me before after updating magisk and not re-flashing a kernel. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth weren't toggleable (if that's a word) and the phones battery was draining pretty aggressively. I'd follow the advice from others and do a reset, or flash a custom kernel over what you have.

Wifi dropping intermittently after Oreo update

Hey,
I'm on stock unrooted Oreo and my wifi has been losing signals (sometimes, it shows signals but internet doesn't work).
While any other phone nearby it works fine which means there's no wifi range issue.
It all started after Oreo update.
Anyone else facing the same? Any solution/suggestion for it, please?

So, I'll have to root it. Wipe all data etc before that?
If yes, can all apps and system settings - passwords/pin/fingerprint/ gont etc be backed up somehow (like in Google drive itself)?
yes i am also facing same issue.

No you don't have to root your device
same issue here. restart mostly fixes it. putting mobile networks on 3g does not help (in the beginning it did). the right wifi network is found, but it cannot connect. sometimes even it says disconnected. any help? (all stock here)

Bluetooth pairing disappears after reboot

I have a Verizon Note 9 that recently received the Pie update. Bluetooth has always been flawless while on Oreo with this device. Now after updating with the Verizon OTA Pie update, my bluetooth pairing disappears every time I reboot or shut down and restart. I have cleared the cache partition. I also cleared the bluetooth cache for good measure but this was unsuccessful. I have seen some rumblings about this on Android Central but I have not seen any solutions. Anyone else seeing this here? Has anyone found any workarounds to this bug? I have not factory reset my device yet.
Thanks in advance.

Over on reddit someone replied to a similar post with a recommendation to reset network connections. This wipes out all Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings. I did this and it seems to have helped for now.
Edit: The auto restart was scheduled for the weekend and my bluetooth devices were wiped out again after the restart.
Hello I had the same issues with Bluetooth devices being removed from pairings. I did the network reset and manually restarted phone with no issues but with Auto Restart it was back with the same issues.
From what I think it is, the auto Restart might be the issue for this problem.

I have never used the auto-restart feature before. All my bluetooth devices are gone after EVERY reboot. So very frustrating. I have even factory reset the entire device and set up from scratch 2x now. Problem persisted
Tonight after the CSC2 update (March 1st security patch) it finally seems to be fixed! :good:
Bluetooth pairings wiped after reboot
Hi, I have a Note 9 N960N Korean model rooted with magisk and EdXposed framework installed, and I had the same issue, after each reboot my Bluetooth pairings are all wipes out... Like Blackout, I installed the libsecure_storage from Magisk repo and it worked ?.
Thanks!
But i Tried to install with magisk module manager, but says failed not a magisk module.
This is the file I downloaded this from gethub
libsecure_storage-libsecure_storage-v2.0.zip
