Change language is the trick. Worked flawless! Thank you.
Anyway to do this with some Xiaomi apps, like Music, Videos, etc? I'm thinking to root to disable them, and to install a 3rd part locator on system partition, because "Locate My Device" don't activate my SIM card.

I'm going to try this option; the other option in the first post requires you log in your ggogle account and I do not have one - this requirement should be added to 1st post.
[EDIT] Disable is still greyed-out... (root required?)

I am having an issue/annoyance with updating apps through the new google play apk; it seems that since updating to the new apk, my apps no longer update simultaneously. Previously on the original android market, I could have multiple apps downloading/updating at the same time with no problem, however now that I have gone to Google Play, they will only download/update one at a time. Is there a way to fix this problem?
Thanks
You may want to try going to settings - applications, then looking for the Play Store app. Open its listing, and choose "clear data". Then go back and open the store again. It should correct itself and allow multi-updating.
r u into gruppen kex? Why do u need to simultaneously download apps? Give that single core CPU a rest!

In that same place, try uninstalling updates and letting google play pick up the updates again. That may help.
Erm... Are we supposed to have Google Play yet? I mean literally everybody I know with an Android device has had their Market auto-updated to Google Play, but not on my tablet... The tablet shows up in the Google Play compatibility list too. Have any of you got the Google Play update? Have I missed something? Or has it just not shown up yet?

Have you tried clearing Market cache and data? If you have the button "Uninstall updates" then click this also. Then open Market, accept the terms and close it again. This should force it to update.

Works for me, BTA it can be restricted depending on your country. Here it goes:
Updating the Android Market Icon to Google Play
20 Mar, 2012
PLEASE NOTE: This News & Alert is specific to our mobile and tablet products with the ANDROID operating system. So the following may not be specific to your product (e.g. Series 7 SLATE PC - XE700T1A operating system is Windows 7).
Instructions for upgrading to the Google Play application (apps, games, movies and books).
1. Select (tap) the 'Android Market' icon.
2. Read the pop-up 'Terms & Conditions' menu notifying the end-user of the upgrade to 'Google Play', and select 'Accept'.
3. At this point the icon should update and say 'Play'.
4. When the 'Google Play' menu appears, select (tap) 'Continue'.
5. There will be a name change at the top of the screen, when inside the market app, but the layout will essentially be the same.
Note
Due to a small data download requirement, this change may take some time depending on the end-user's data connection.
For the fastest update we recommend using HSPA+ or WI-FI.
6. Move back to the home (main or idle) screen, and select (tap) 'Applications'.
Note
a). If the handset is rebooted then the 'Android Market' app icon will have been removed.
After this select (tap) 'Applications'.
Then replace the Android market shortcut with the 'Play Store' icon.
(This can be done by dragging the icon to the home or main screen from the applications menu).
b). If the handset device is not rebooted after updating the play application then the icon will need to be removed manually from the home screen and replaced with the new Play shop icon.
Navigate to the apps and create a new shortcut to 'Play Store' by dragging the icon to the home screen.
Please note
On the Galaxy Nexus devices the homescreen shortcut will automatically be removed.
Therefore the end-user will need to navigate to the apps and create a new shortcut to 'Play Store' by dragging the icon to the home screen.
Important
If after the above procedure is performed, the 'Market' icon is not replaced after some time with the 'Play Shop' icon, then the end-user will need to perform all of the following steps as outlined below.
Move to 'Applications' > 'Settings' > 'Applications' >' Manage applications', and check that either of the icons appear in the list as shown. Then:
• Select 'Applications' > 'Settings' > 'Applications' >' Manage applications', and then select the 'Android Market' icon. Then select (tap) 'Clear data'.
• Select 'Applications' > 'Settings' > 'Applications' >' Manage applications', and then select the 'Android Market' icon. Then select (tap) 'Clear cache'.
• Select 'Applications' > 'Settings' > 'Applications' > 'Manage applications', and then select the 'Android Market' icon. Select (tap) 'Uninstall updates'.

My tab just updated yesterday to Play as well.
Do things look squeezed in to anyone else? The app tiles in the main part, and my installed apps and information columns don't take up the whole screen. The toolbar at the top and the green stripe do though, so it doesn't seem to be a malfunction.
The tight quarters make things feel squished. Plus, I find it much slower than the Market already.
buggy play store
I was forced to take the upgrade today. Now I can't scroll thru installed apps. I have to update them one at a time even if I don't want them. Am using a rooted i957. Anyone else having this problem? Solutions?

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded "cache clear" and ran it but still no scrolling. I really don't want to keep updating the bloatware but it looks like I'm being forced to. I know people are working on a rom for the i957. Hope they come up with something.
the playstore looks really nice. But i think the old market was a bit quicker.. or not?
Maybe it's just Marshmallow but should my FB messenger icon not have the number for the amount of messages I received? Same with texts, missed calls etc nothing shows. Ok I'm reading a thread that someone had the same question and it mentions Nova launcher. Do I need a new launcher or is there an app to add it?
the n6 does not do that by default. the lg phone is also running lg software on top of android, that's where your numbers are coming from.
I'm happy with asus zenui launcher, it shows what you need.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asus.launcher
The Asus launcher is fine if you happen to like the iCrap look.
There are multiple third-party launchers that have an unread counts notification. Most require you to download a separate app to provide the functions. Many will require you to purchase their "Pro" version to get it. Best of the bunch is Nova, hands down.
Cool thanks everyone. I'm gonna try the Zenui launcher and see how I like it

In settings under security there is a device administrators section. If an app is set as a device administrator it will cause the uninstall button to be greyed out. If you uncheck the box so the app is no longer a device administrator you will be able to uninstall it.

ok cool yeah I see that would have been the easiest. I went to settings - apps - and unchecked some things in the app and then was able to un install. I'll try nova, thanks
Since I have installed SLiMM ROM,specifically version 3.1,long-press for Google Now doesn't work, before I used to set a custom action to open the Google App with GravityBox to open the Google app.
The problem is now I want the Google Assistant to work, but that trick doesn't work since it only opens the Google app,and if I do go to the settings of the app it does say "Assistant Settings" so I know that part is good.
Any advice?
Hey guys how can I lock the messenger app with my fingerprint without using third party apps because it doesn't show up in the list :/
1. make sure that you have enabled "Access to blocking app" in Fingerprints manager(settings -> ID fingerprint-> manage fingerprints - >third option in page).
2. Go to Phone manager app scroll lower icons to left to get "Locking apps" option.
3. First time it will ask you for creating pin, enter it two times.
4. select apps that you want to protect using fingerprint.
5. close all apps and lock your phone for 5-6seconds(just normally lock it and wait).
6. After that everytime when you want to open those apps you will be asked for fingerprint.

Yes dude I know thx but my problem is that Facebook messenger app doesn't show up in that list, am I the only one ??
Well you should say that its Facebook messenger... As far as I know facebook and its side apps never worked properly.
I dont use it so I dont know if its visible on the list. What I can say is that all my apps are available there so its not like App lock it self is bad.
Try to block facebook too on the list, or just for test download those light version of messenger. God know how bad their apps are and maybe it will force it somehow...
In my device it appears but I don't have Facebook installed, and the messenger is the Lite vertion.
Tried it on Lite version and it works.
