Hi,
Note 9 came with a very poor selection of tiny clock and weather widgets.
It really doesn't look good on a N9 luxury screen.
https://imgur.com/a/1ZoMWQT
Am I missing something here?
Even Note 4 and A5 had a screenwide big number clock+weather widget will full of details and big clock numbers.
There are many, many, m a n y clock/weather widgets you can download from Google Play Store. Try Chronus, I personally love that one.
Other apps/widgets = Different weather data (due to different weather providers etc.).
And this will mean inconsistency: Samsung calendar will show different weather information compared to homescreen.

The Note 9 has a luxury screen? Looks the same to the Note 8 to me. ?
It's the exact same widgets that are on the Note 8. Did you not have a Note 8 I'm assuming?

Note 8? So this just means that Note 8 has a luxury screen as well [emoji14]
No I don't have Note 8 (if I had I wouldn't have bought Note 9).
But I have Note 4 which has better clock+weather widget than Note 9.

Samsung's weather widgets pull from weather.com, so just find ones that use weather..com as well.

if they are the same cell phone. note 8 and note 9. possibility that the battery of note 9 functions in note 8?

The Note8 and Note9 aren't the same phone. Hence one is called 8 and the other 9. They're physically different sizes and I can assure you the internals are different and laid out differently, as well, meaning the battery will be a different size, also.

Like Max said: Different phones, different batteries. Would be a fire hazard anyhow.
I would not mess with the phone's internals, for starters, it will no longer be water resistant, tjere is always the possibility of damaging something, the fire hazzard, etc, the best and safest way is to use a battery pack, I did that with my note 7, bouhjt an original samsung one, and it is working really fine to this very day
didnt somebody port the Note 9 battery to Note 8 lately? /s
I don't think the Note 9's battery would fit in the Note 8. As it is much larger than the battery found in the Note 8. Which is why the Note 9 is slightly larger in depth than the Note 8.
Always been a Google phone user. Never had a galaxy series? Those of you that have came from pixel how you liking it?
Thanking of getting the note 9 black 512g in a few weeks.
I been both a user of Nexus/Pixel phones and Galaxy phones.
I've had a Galaxy Note 2, a Galaxy S3, a Galaxy S7 Edge, a Galaxy S8+, a Note 8, and a Note 9. I still have both the Note 8 AND the Note 9.
I've had a Galaxy Nexus, a Nexus 6, a Nexus 6P, a Pixel XL, and most recently a Pixel 2 XL.
I bought the Pixel 2 XL after taking a break from Pixel/Nexus for the S8+ and the Note 8. It was cool for about 2 weeks. I loved Android Pie and the cameras. But for ME, I just wound up missing the features of my Note 8, such as the S-Pen. So I'm selling the Pixel 2 XL, and I'll keep the Note 9 as my primary device and the Note 8 as my backup device.

I had all those Google phones. I ordered the 3 xl just cuz I was excited for the next pixel. But realized it wasn't worth the upgrade so I cancelled my order. Been thinking of switching it up completely for once and trying a note 9.
How's the speed of app opening the 6gb vs 8gb. Performance is #1 in a phone for me. I don't play games tho
Both my Notes are 6GB RAM, so I can take compare to the 8GB. But both are still very fast and smooth. My Pixel 2 XL has actually started to lag a bit, but my Note 8 is still smooth.

How are the apps in memory? The most frustrating thing on my pixel 2 are how fast the apps get killed off. I'll have my messages and Spotify open and the pixel kills off messages in a couple minutes

That alone makes me want to switch. Just need to decide 6gb vs 8gb. Storage doesn't matter to me. 128gb is plenty.

I think 6GB is enough. That said, if I found a 512GB for cheap, I'd snag it.

From all the vids I watched it didn't look like a very polished feature. I don't see how moving my entire hand is better then a small movement of my finger on the screen. Then I see the 10 as a downgrade even compared to the note 8. The 10+ lost to many useful features for useless ones.
I think the only software features I would want would be the screen recorder. I already use game launcher to semi make that possible in apps.
Either way I can see a lot of software features will eventually make there way to the note9.

No its not , because the Note 10 S Pen has a build in sensor.
Personaly i think the Note 9 is a TOP Phone the way it is .
personally the whole exhibition of the phone itself talked me out of wanting it. Everything about it is gimmicky at best, not a really needed upgrade for me from my N9. not the cameras, pen, battery. nothing screams buy me. So im waiting for the N11 maybe thatll wow me, if not then the N12 maybe

I know the heart rate sensor, headphone jack, dedicated power button ( it's now power/bixby) that's it for the 10+ now the 10 has a lot more, no SD slot lower resolution screen, 256 storage ( I have the 512 note9) battery. That's off the top of my head.
I think that a N9 with a coustom ROM Will be the same as n10+

Maybe the root time has come... note 10 doesn't deserve. The upgrade from note 8 to 9 was nice, but to note 9 to 10... blah...
I really liked the new display but nothing else. I'm really disappointed with note 9 camera and the note 10 camera seems to be the same... so this time is for waiting... or maybe get the tab 6...
Let's wait for firmware updates, maybe we could get something interesting from our big brother.

Does the new Note10 allow single and double press re-mapping of the Bixby/power button, similar to how it works on the Note9?

You would have to ask someone who owns the phone. I just know what youtube reviews said. Either way it's a major negative to me.

theres an article on xda front page news abour all the missed points in the note 10 reveal. and it covers the power button remapping.
Personally if you own a Note 9 there is no reason to upgrade to any of the Note 10s. Unless your device is starting to fail.
I don't have reason to buy Note 10/+. Note 10 is step back compare to Note 9. Like someone wrote- deleted led notification (very useful), jack, heart rate sensor, iris scanner, force touch to wake up?, less battery in standard version Note 10. Next colors- no midnight blue, and only standard black, white and mirror silver isn't step forward. I want 2 level colors like for example in Note 5- titanium silver, platinum gold, sapphire black. Newer isn't always better.
I bought N9 8/512 in november 2018 and now i know that it was good decision. Now I wait for N11 or Pixel 4/5.

the color of a phone should never be a selling point. moreover if it is, it means you dont use protection(case) so even if it comes in the color you want the risk of it breaking, will effectively render it unusable in some way or form and then color is even more irrelevant.
Of course, color it's not selling point but it's hard to difficult that palette of new models are poor.
Colors are only one of disadvantages from my previous reply.
It's similar to buy a new car and his color usually is important, more or less but important.
From Note 5 and 9 I use transparent case. Every new samsung models are boring small bezels, black front and so only back is different.
For me Note 7 in blue coral was nice phone, even today.
