I have bought Huawei P20 pro, one month ago.
It's default firmware was perfect on battery life.
But, l have updated my phone twice.
Now firmware is CLT-L09 8.1.0.131 (C432).
I am using the same settings and same applications.
I have resetted my phone twice.
But unfortunately, my phone 's battery life is terrible after those two updates.
Anyone has any reccomendation about this?
Thanks..
I don't think it's a terrible update. I had a really nice battery life after some time on .131.. But if you're on C432, .152 should arrive soon to your device, which increases battery life a bit more (imho).
Thanks for your comment.
Should i wait for update, or do i have any other solution for this?
Just let your phone run normally. It will stabilize after a while. When I updated from 131/132 to 152 battery life was crap and now it is back to how it was.
I am often cleaning cache with storage cleaner.
And i am often cleaning ram with virtual navigation bar.
These can cause my battery to get empty quickly?

Sure, leave everything as it is don't clear caches and ram that will consume more battery to build again, let the os do what is needed.

Yes. You don't need to clear ram or anything. This is not like android 1.5.
Just use everything normally.
Mine is CLT-L09 8.1.0 152 (C432) GPU TURBO
When you go to IMEI.INFO you can check your device info and history. Usually with my history of Huawei phones, most of them that I used to posses were unlocked from a carrier network. Eastern Europe always get updates last one.
In first 10 days of P20 Pro I got two system updates, which is not bad.
But for Android P I think everybody that owns this version same as mine, will have to wait a bit longer for newest Android system.
Thank you all for your messages.
How can i install CLT-L09 8.1.0 152 (C432) without ota

So is it healthy to update phone via pc?
Do we have to update phone via ota only for a healthy phone?
Has nothing to do with a healthy phone. The update installs on your phone the same way as it would via ota update. The way to getting to the installation is different.

Can i install L29C432C156 Update (Full OTA) with hurupdater?
I am asking this because, my firmware is starting with L09, but new firmware is starting with L29!
Is this safe to flash? It says not approved, but It's the same model as my phone.
It's the 132 firmware for my exact model, but it still says unapproved.

Yes you can flash it with hurupdate.

There is a EVA-L09C636B361 in the list.
I just tried it the other day. There are two FULL pacakges, but neither works. Installation failed either at 5% or around 40%.
I update the L19 version, you must use Huawei Updater tool.
The L09 I think must works (with the correct URL for that version)
In the L19, exist two versions, 29 and 30 december. The first works, the second no, I dont know why.
Use the FULL versions.
God luck.

My model is Huawei P9 EVA-L09C636
I tried to update like this, it's started updating and got an error while updating then phone rebooted with new update,
but there's lot of errors,
Built Number displays as - NRD90M test-keys
Updater missing in settings
Camera missing
Flash Light not working
Clock missing
File Manger missing
and few more default huawei apps missing.
How do I fix it or downgrade to previous version back?
My Phone is Huawei P9 EVA-L09C636
Even though my phone is L09 I've flashed L19 by following the steps on this thread -

it's still NRD90M test-keys. but i'm cool with it.
Hello everyone!
I just bought an used P9 (EVA-L19) in pristine condition. It arrived with the nougat update but it is missing all Huawei apps. I don't think I really mind not having those (less bloat, hurray!), but I really want at least the camera app! What should I try? This thing is full stock (unrooted), and I'd rather keep it that way... Should I just flash the full stock firmware? HiSuite claims my phone is up to date, but I've got no idea how to check what build my current firmware is.
Thanks!
Oooh... the build seems to be NRD90M "test-keys", which appears to be an old beta build from my googling. Do I have to go back to MM and then upgrade to Nougat? Hopefully I can do all that without a custom recovery...
You have an intermediate firmware.
Search here the B378 for C432 if you want the european version (wich is working fine; some other last updates may have some problems - for example, with B383 me and others have problems with the battery).
Where are you from ??

I'm from Brazil, but I know for a fact this phone isn't brazilian. It comes with a bunch of stuff written in spanish rather than portuguese, and a warranty certificate citing a bunch of spanish-spekaing latin american countries. I'm browsing through the forums and trying to find out what is my Cust yet. But thanks for the response.
Also, if I have to flash something, is it better to stick with Nougat or is Marshmallow more hassle-free?
(I've attached a screenshot of the status screen from Huawei P9 Tool, this is all the data I could gather so far)
I can't read the screenshot ...
On the "About the phone - Version number" what do you have ??
For example, mine has EVA-L19C432B378, where:
-EVA-L19 is the phone model (P9 dual sim);
-C432 is the european version;
-B378 is the firmware version.
Also, you can read that thread too ... https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/how-to-downgrade-nrd90m-to-marshmallow-t3541400

All it says on "Version number" is "NRD90M test-keys". I've read that thread, but to downgrade you need a ROM, and without knowing my Cust ID I'm not sure which ROM I should get.
The screenshot shows my serial number (XVV7N16425001010), the model (EVA-L19 - Dual Sim 32GB Rom 3GB RAM) and a weird build string (eng.jenkin.20161230.130431)

It does have dual SIM, and is the EVA-L19. So no NFC then. Does it help? I'm currently looking for debranding guides because I can't find what branding this phone originally had.
Oooh well... so far:
1- *#*#2846579#*#* doesn't work (nothing happens), can't enable Manufacturer mode for DC Unlocker
2- The HUAWEI EMUI site doesn't give me a bootloader unlock code, so can't unlock the bootloader with the official method
So, so far, I can't install TWRP, so I can't flash a C432 oeminfo.bin
Also, the Rollback instructions at https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/rollback-eva-l19-android-7-0-emui-5-0-t3496091 fail, as the rollback intermediate firmware just fails at 5% claiming to be incompatible with my device.
Aside from blindly trying to flash random firmwares with the three button method, do you guys have ANY ideas at all? I need a rest, just wasted the whole day trying to get this damned thing fixed
Sad thing: even with a borked firmware install this is still orders of magnitude better than my old Lumia 930.
EDIT: GODDAMMIT, BLUETOOTH ALSO DOESN'T WORK!

I'll give the instructions of the first post a try, though they did not work for the OP.
EDIT: AAAAAND the 800mb file is downloading at 28kbps... this won't be fun
I'm not sure if it would've been better to edit the last post or add a new one, so if this is agains the rules (I've read them and couldn't find it), please inform me and I'll change things accordingly... buuuut.... IT WORKED.
The OP on the topic absynte pointed out never really posted the outcome of his issue and it looked like he never got it to work, so here is what I did:
Flashed the zip file
I flashed the zip file linked in this post through starting up with vol up + vol down + power. Exactly like the guy over there it did not solve my issue, but did uncover I had exactly the same build as him (EVA-L19C185B361 - Middle East / Asia)
Flashed the intermediate firmware
I download the correct intermediate firmware (C185B300) from here and flashed the same way. The *#*#... menu did not work (as in the menu itself didn't show up)
Flashed a MM build
I downloaded and flashed C185B180 for whatever reason (could've gone with tha latest MM build right away AFAIK). Worked great, all stock apps were there and so was bluetooth
Let the phone update itself through OTA
It updated itself to B210 (or B220, don't remember well) and then B385. Seems to be working fine, but I haven't given the battery a fair chance (constantly flashing and updating stuff) to judge its performance.
Thanks everyone for the help!

Hi--I have recently purchased a "new" P9 from a reseller on E-bay (I am from Canada). I did a lot of research on this device and the e-bay description was P9 eva-L19. Since I know that this version would be upgradeable to Android 7 Nougat, I decided to purchase it even though I was dubious of the "new" description. It was a very good price also. Anyway I received the device (from Hong Kong) and everything was in perfect shape outwardly except the box was NOT sealed. The phone and accessories were in excellent condition and appeared to be new but when I checked the "about" section under settings, I saw that the P9 was an eva-L29C636 model and not the L19 I had been expecting. The firmware was eva-L29C636B168. I noticed that the device had 3Gb ram and 32Gb of storage. My main question is-- has anyone every seen or heard of an eva-L29 having this configuration? I can only find 4Gb and 64 Gb specs for this P9 variant. Anyway, we like the phone and will not send it back and I have updated the device to eva-L29C636B191. It looks like there will NEVER be an update to Android 7 Nougat which bothers me but I'm just not understanding the specs on this device. Also, has anyone here updated their L-29 to the B361 Beta Nougat firmware that shows up on "Firmware Finder" app and is it worth the bother? Should I stay on Marshmallow? Thanks for listening to my long-winded story and any feedback or info is very much appreciated!

B361 is latest PV official update. There are updates to B389 that only working as custom roms.
You sure your device L19? There is a model number at the bottom back of your device. If that the case, maybe previous owner install L29 firmware on L19 device. You can change it back with debranding

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure of anything at this point. When I use the CPU-Z app it shows the Model as a EVA-L29 but the internal storage is 32 GB and ram as 3Gb but I can find NO reference anywhere of such a device existing. Since I am a newbie you may have given me a clue as to why this device is weird. I did not know about debranding until you mentioned it. So it is possible that someone had an L09 or L19 and was able to debrand it somehow and then pass it off as an L29? That would explain the 32 GB and lack of 4Gb of ram. I guess it would have been an L19 as there is a dual sim in the phone. My final question, then is, if I want to put Nougat on it, do I flash a L19 firmware or L29 firmware? Sorry for the beginner questions but I am very new on android and firmware flashing etc.
p.s. oh, by the way, to confuse matters even more, the back of the case has L09 on it so now I know that the device has DEFINITLY been screwed with?

sounds like a refurbished device, so don't pay attention to what is printed on the phone itself, and my advice, don't try to update until you're sure about what variant you have, you will easily brick your device.

That sounds like what I have. I did not realize, though, that components could be added/subtracted from the motherboard so easily. Guess I am very naive lol. Anyway, the device came to me as EVA-L29C636b168 and I did update it with Firmware Finder to EVA-L29C636b191 . Everything is running fine. Would you recommend that I stop at this point and forget about Nougat? Sorry to put you on the spot and I recognize the risks but it does seem that the device is now an L29 even though it doesn't have some of the hardware. Thanks for your help and advice.

maybe your phone is refurbished p9 l09 but they change motherboard to l19. who knows. I think it doesn't matter which firmware you got. I have seen many people change their firmware despite of their device. even I change my AL00 to L19 because AL00 firmware doesn't have playstore. my advice, debrand it to L19 for easy nougat update. either choice, you can update nougat

At this point i think you should be ok updating since the L19 moniker was only shown on the website, and the L09 is in the exterior case (not the components themselves), so you ended up with an L29.
Thanks to all for the info and advice!
Hello,
I've been tinkering with my mate 10 pro for the last few days of owning it,
ive managed to debrand the phone from BLA - L09 C432 SW Ver 124 with Vodafone customization install at the beginning, and a Vodafone entry in system settings menu.
To C432 SW Ver 127(A) although the A doesn't show, with no Vodafone bloat or menu setting
Im not sure how it worked but these were the steps i followed.
Setup the phone as per a new device and after setup their was a system update to add Vodafone customization, i did the update and then started up phone with the new Vodafone updates and apps
Downloaded firmware finder from the play store and installed that on my phone, Installed the latest update via the proxy method, the only thing i noticed which was strange, was the full ota update was about 2.06 ish gb for sw ver 127a, after it downloaded, it checked the file, then a second update for the same firmware for the same size downloaded totaling approx 5.2gb in total, it checked again and installed went fine and the phone restarted with the new firmware.
When the phone restarted it was just the same as previous with a newer firmware, including the vodafone customization in the system settings. I was then looking on firmware finder and noticed a newer ota update for the same firmware i had, was approx 500mb ish and when i did the proxy method, the phone found a newer update, downloaded the update and checked and installed and nothing seemed to change with the phone at all, just didnt show any more updates.
I was having an issue with the auto brightness with the phone, as i have posted about, so i assumed as i had done two updates thats something may have gone wrong so i did a factory reset,
I backed up the phone via Hisuite and proceeded to factory reset the phone via the settings menu. when the phone factory reset its self, i re set the phone up as per normal until i was ready to restore my data, only this time their was no Vodafone customization update and the system settings customization part had disappeared as well. leaving untouched firmware with no trace of Vodafone bloat( although the amount their wasn't a lot at all, two apps i think).
This is by no means a guide, but if it helps anyone else that is a bonus.
The original firmware finder file i used was
BLA-L09 8.0.0.127a(C432) this was dated 2017.12.15 which was a full ota this downloaded twice with a message in between checking the files about downloading a second update (toast notification)
Their was a second ota available on firmware finder but that had now disappeared for some reason now. that was also applied.
The reset never sorted the auto brightness issue i was having but my phone ended up unbranded which was a bonus.
Would also like to add that Vodafone WiFi calling is still working aswell.
Does this mean that you can use 2 sim cards now?
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
No, it's still the same version, it's a single sim, just a debranded firmware,

Is it snappier than the original one? I just got mine from Vodafone. I m not impressed with Ram Management. Also did you get the cash back from Huawei?

The ram management is a tad aggressive, but it's pretty much the same, their isn't a lot of Vodafone bloat on it, so shouldn't make too much difference, just don't like being told what I have to have on my phone. As for the cashback, I'm trying to sort it out at the minute, I never received any paperwork from Vodafone other than the delivery note, submitted that and they said it wasn't good enough, so I'm now waiting on vodafone to send my proof of purchase paperwork so I can forward that to Huawei for my cashback. Have you started yours yet.??
Also I updated my via firmware Finder to the latest version before receiving an ota, the latest version is 127a and that's been great so far.
No I was gonna contact Huawei for cash back but I haven't got any paper work apart from delivery note. Thanks for letting me know I will ask vodafine to send me purchase receipt then I will contact huawei
Mine is 0.125(c432) is this the latest one?

No, if you look on the app firmware Finder, the latest is c432 127a, also,
This was the link Vodafone sent me to complete, it's for insurance claims but they send you everything you need in it for the huawei claim.

Use the full ota though if you use firmware Finder.

Thanks when I click on download it gives me 3 options which one should I click?

The easiest way is to do it via proxy, when you check via Imei, does it come back saying Compatible, if so, just click the proxy button, change your WiFi settings and you will get an ota through your phone. That's The way I did it.

When I checked firmware access it says the firmware is not approved for installation. Is that because ai havent degraded my phone? Do I need to dbrand first and then update?

Try doing it the app proxy way, thats the way I did it. The only difference was for me it said my Imei was approved for installation, if you do it the app proxy way you will receive an ota more like a standard update. All you have to do is start the app, chose the full 127a ota file, about 2 gigs, press the proxy button and it will tell you how to change your WiFi settings to receive the ota.
No debranding should be necessary to update the phone, it's the correct version for you device. The problem with Huawei it's an Imei lottery if yours is certified for installation.

I'm not sure then. I've wonky updated mine via the proxy method. Did you manage to download the file manually.

Yes manually downloaded but don't know how to install [emoji3] this is my first huawei device tryna google how to but can't find anything :/

I'm not sure how you do a manual update on these phones, I know you could on previous Huawei, but apparently this one is slightly different. Failing that just download it once your Imei becomes verified for install.

I've been trying to download the EMUI 9.1 update from firmware finder. Several updates are approved for installation and I've registered each of them, but I'm just getting "gettting package info failed" in erecovery when trying to install. Any ideas?
I'm afraid that eRecovery mode is not working anymore for force updates.
I used this method and it works.

Didn't need it. I just updated HiSuite and the update was immediately flagged and waiting for me.. Sitting at 50%+ downloaded already.
That's great. I have unfortunately CLT-L09 C782 and gets updates very late so I do it manually

Try doing it through hisuite. My phone just kept telling me I had the latest software version, but when I checked hisuite the update was ready to be installed. What happened afterwards was a totall wreck but thatsanother story.
Hi!
Did you get this sorted?
I'm also in the UK, with c782 region. I have a fig lx1 (smart p 2018) but aside from that having the exact issues as you.
