Magisk root works on my main profile and I have enabled Multiuser mode (Independent) but I'm still not rooted on my secondary profile (tested with root checker) I don't even see magisk manager on secondary profile what am I missing here?
Install the Magisk Manager on the second user as well and you should be good to go.
It doesn't work
No it is asking to flash magisk again in magisk manager

Ok... So, I tested by creating a secondary user and installing the Magisk Manager and had no issues. Didn't do any extensive testing, but Magisk was recognised as installed.
You'll have to do some more digging into why you might have issues, but I'd start by looking in the settings for the Manager installed on the main account and make sure that "Multiuser Mode" is set to allow root for secondary users (either owner managed or independent).
1) logged in as primary user > Magisk > Settings > Multiuser Mode > User-independent
2) reboot
3) log in as secondary user > install the Magisk app > hopefully
There is also an option "Device Owner Managed" but I don't know what that means and how that works.

Hello Magisk Users,
since v13.1 supports Multiuser. Is there a certain way i need to install it, to get Magisk SU working for the second user?
I flashed the Zip, which also lets the second User use the Magisk Manager, without installing it. But the settings on the owner user for su have not effect.
If i switch to seperate su settings for every user or device user managed, i have no option to configure the su settings and with the second options, they also dont apply.
Logfiles show that the surequests get rejected. Did i miss something? Do i need to install Magisk Manager on the second user too?
Anybody made simular experience?
You're not the only one: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/issues/247
There seems to be issues with the multiuser implementation in MagiskSU.
Hi,
i have an Moto Z with latest stock rom and magisk 14.2 installed via twrp.
The problem: When i tick an app in hide settings, the entry wasnt saved. When i leave magisk and open the hide setting again, the app wasnt enabled for hide, i can tick it again and gain but it wasnt save.
Can someone help, whats the problem ?
IIRC, the Moto Z is one of the devices with a broken f2fs implementation. The Magisk image can't be mounted, so there's no Hide list to save anything to...
IIRC again, you should be able to get it working if you enable Core Only Mode in the Manager settings, but any apps added to the Hide list will be reset on a reboot.
You could also take a look in your device's forum if there are any custom kernels available with a f2fs fix.
Thanks for the explanation. The Moto Z has unfortunately no good dev support. So i found out that after reboot i must untick the hide option in magisk setting and tick again, then i can tick my app for hide and it was remembered, until next boot.

I am using version 14.0 and have experienced the same problem.
Check the logs stored in the /cache folder to determine the cause.
solution:
Create a folder called /magisk/.core and create an empty file called hidelist in it.
shell command:
mkdir /magisk/.core
touch /magisk/.core/hidelist
I have the same idea but the file system is read only. How to make it rw?
I'm using stock Note 3 (N9005DXSGBQA1) and followed instructions for magisk manager. I got it rooted but magiskhide does NOT work - NOT SAVING ANY SELECTION.
I tried using "core only" and tried inserting a new hidelist but both failed. I badly need the hidelist feature. How can I make magiskhide work? Thanks

Three years later... (I'm still using my Note 3 from 2013, btw)... and did you ever find a solution to this problem? I'm using Magisk 20.3 now, and it still does not keep the "Magisk Hide" option enabled after closing the app.
So enable it, I open the app and go to settings and enable it from there. I must then back out and close the app for the Magisk Hide option to become available under the menu. If I back out of the app again, whatever I had checked as hidden under the "Magisk Hide" menu becomes unchecked again. If I reboot the phone, I have to go back into settings to enable Magisk Hide again.
Any solution for this other than use another device?
[Mudule] Root Call SMS Manager Patch
THIS MODULE ITSELF IS NOT A CALL BLOCKER, It is patch to work this Root call manager properly with Magisk
Introduction :
Basically I was not using Magisk for two purposes (Even though there were many good aspects to have magisk, but ultimately it's matter of priorities)
1.Broken Dumpsys
2.Root level call blocker was not working which is must app for me. (I know about two root call blocker available on play store)
Since Magisk V15 bring dumpsys so finally thought to look into root call manager so I can use Magisk with it's awesome Magisk hide functions.
Module :
Root call SMS Manager available on play store have mentioned some work around to use with magisk but didn't worked for me.
I have looked into it and sharing here a module which I have made for me and working fine on my Samsung Galaxy Note8. I believe it should work on more devices as well so sharing here.
Installation :
1.Download attached RCM Patch 1.1.apk and Install as regular app
2.Clcik on app icon from drawer
3.Grant su permission
4.Keep patience while it activate module.
App is self destructive and will get uninstalled once module get activated.
Reboot device when asked/app get uninstalled.
Un-Installation :
Magisk Manager - Module - Root call manager Patch - Delete from here
Tips for RCM
- In System setting, you should set proper "submode' according your device
- Wait after reboot option recommended to keep 0 but if you need to increase, better keep below 20 sec.
Disclaimer :
I am not owner of Root Call Manager app, Just made a module and shared here to work application correctly with magisk root. Any query regarding RCM should go to proper channel and not here.
Can somebody confirm, what version of Magisk you are using?
From my end the apk is not working with the Magisk 18.1. Please, can you updated it?
Thanks you
Hi!
So this is my first post on xda, so please be nice
I rooted my Samsung s8 sm g950f with ambasadii, and running magisk.
When I first flashed the rom everything went ok. The first time I entered the Magisk Manager app there was a note that said that I can update the manager app to v18.1. When opened the app got a message that the app was unsupported by magisk manager. So I flashed the rom again and just didn't updated the manager app. That's one problem, here is the next one.
When I enter my banking they use a 2 step verification system. I have to go to the phone and enter a code that verifies the login. Now since I've rooted the phone I can't use it, is there any solution to this problem? The banking app does not support either a rooted phone. One of the reasons I rooted with magisk is the Magisk Hide. But I don't think it is working for me . The verification goes through the sim card.
Let me know if you need some more info to help me solve this problem!
PS: I am new to rooting
Thanks!
Welcome to XDA, Magisk and root world.
Quick tips:
Every time before trying the problematic app again, under Android settings/app, stop it and clean its cache and data. Even better to unistall it, reboot, install it again from play store. Even better before reboot go to recovery mode and wipe cache, dalvik (only those!).
Hide Magisk Manager (=repack it with a random name). You do that on Magisk Manager settings menu. After that its visible name will be only Manager (on your app drawer).
read everything here, special attention to SafetyNet and hiding other rooting tests apps may use:
https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk/HomePage
install MagiskHide Props Config module and use its improve hiding settings: (available for download on the Dowload menu of Magisk Manager)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-magiskhide-props-config-t3789228
Try updating Magisk/Manager to 18.1/7.0 (last stables):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Do backups and try updating to last Canary builds. Read last posts on its thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/dev-magisk-canary-channel-bleeding-edge-t3839337
Maybe the module ShellHide works better than standard Magisk Hide on your device, I don't know. Read thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/magisk-shellhide-t3855616
For general Magisk support, usually better search and ask for help on official support thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/mod-magisk-v1-universal-systemless-t3432382
For many apps magisk hide works, but not for Cofidis app.
Things I tried:
- removed app, reboot, install and before starting the app set it in magisk hide
- hide magisk mgr
- USB debugging off
- allow OEM unlock off
- turned off developer tools
- tried magisk canary
- renamed TWRP backup folder
It seems that during install the app already detects the root.
Hello,
I have found a solution that works for me.
Uninstall Cofidis, hide the Magisk application (see in the settings), install Cofidis then erase the application data (in case Play Store has restored them), configure Cofidis in Magisk Hide.
In my opinion, the Cofidis application checks if Magisk is installed.
Tell me if this was helpful to you.
Cordially
