I would like to know if there's a LineageOS planned for Xiaomi Mi A2.
Can omeone answer me please?
It will be officially released for Mi A2 for sure.
As the kernel sources have only been released today it will probably take a while still but there most likely be many roms for the A2

For the A1 is has been released 6 month after the phone was released so I'd say within half a year

I say 4 months cause the second edition of that phone is so well done
It is just a matter of time. Right now TWRP isn't even fully ready. But it will come.

Anybody knows of good custom ROMS for a Xiaomi Mi Note Pro? Lollipop version?
We need the kernel sources first that Xiaomi still has not released.
But as soon as Xiaomi does the development will start... Just hope they the sources won't be released too late...

Please search the forum before asking, there isnt exactly many threads to go through and this has been asked multiple times and has been answered multiple times.. Xiaomi will release Kernel Source once the phone is launched globally, at the moment it's just China.

Source code for starters is probably helpful, and that might take a while with xiaomi....

I've experienced that with the Mi5, Cyanogenmod builds came very quickly after Xiaomi released the kernel sources. I'm also waiting for them, this device would be so much better with Lineage OS, or anything other than a MIUI rom, although the EPIC rom is getting fairly close

Right but its not a true build. It's using the sources that were released for the Mi5s.
So.. this should support lineage fairly easily since it's part of project treble right? Because my next phone definitely needs to run lineage and microg.
What's the history of taking camera apps of xiaomi and running them in lineage?
U can unlock bootloader, u will get Snapdragon, kernel source will be released by Xiaomi and price + hardware is more than good. I'm sure u will get LineageOS.

As far as I've checked Xiaomi has only released Mi 8 SE's kernel source right? Nothing for Mi 8 yet. Theoretically building LOS for Mi 8 right now is very very hard without kernel source right?

Till now Xiaomi only released Mi8 SE's kernel. Mi8 might follow tomorrow. Or next month. Or ...... nobody knows...
MIUI 10 works pretty well (even for a hardcore Lineage fan like me)

Yes, this was reported a coupe of weeks ago. The date of the 15th was given. Don't know if this is a confirmed or rumoured date.

That's a good news. Phone is good, but os is so bad, seems like my old ZTE axon 7, sep-2016 ~ jun-2019, finally I recycled to $35. Finally there just be few ROMs. I hope k20 pro don't encounter the same thing:crying:

There are a lot of very talented devs from India here on xda, so hopefully many of the POCO F1 devs will buy this phone and move their excellent work to this.
Mine has finally arrived and so far it's great, have removed as much bloat as I can and just waiting for the 7 days to finish when I can get the EU ROM on at least. Personally I would like to see official LOS on my phone.

LOS is simple and powerful, this is faith. I've just unlocked my phone days ago, EU ROM has some issues till now.

Talk about the issues, I've given up with EU ROM. I just fastboot flashed Android Q beta several hours ago, at least, it's pure Android experience.

It's something I'm considering trying. Do you know which release it is? Is it the beta 3 or beta 4 release? The official Xiaomi page doesn't give much info.
Was you using EU stable or development ROM?

Redmi K20 Pro:
1. Does not support fingerprint module.
2. “Settings” app crashes after user selects “App & Notifications” and shows a notification that says “Settings keeps stopping”
3. Unable to switch between multiple users.
4. There might be instances where videos downloaded from the Google Drive does not show length of video in the photo gallery.
5. Bluetooth search might not work for some specific keyboards. A known failed case is Logitech’s k380 keyboard.

Here are some informations in screenshot.
I was using EU development ROM when I meet random reboot issues, I think I should try EU stable later or next release.
Will official global ROM still get OTA if flashed on K20 Pro?

Yes, I found it on MIUI official site, but after days using, it's really not good at all. Please do not flash that ROM as daily ROM. If you like AOSP, check phh's thread, I will try it 3 days later when I unlock my phone.

Can anyone tell me when is the last security update for MI A2? Is there schedule from Xiaomi?
middle of next year as far as i know, 3 years of security patches and 2 of major updates, it was released early-mid 2018 so i guess we got our 2 major updates o -> p and p -> q.
based on the mi a1 history that's not getting android 10 i would guess by the end of the year xiaomi is off the hook with support.
it's very goood news that lineage picked it up officially together with all the sd660 xiaomi phones

nope lineage 17.1 is android 10 based.
it's gonna be funny, unlike xiaomi they actually merge the monthly security patch within days of release. and with one of the head devs from lineage workin on it we can expect to have some very nice support too.
ill take this occasion to thank the lineage team once again, it's exactly what the mi a2 needed! and once things get going a serious slap on the face for xiaomi and how they handled their android one program!

builds are still mia. they tried to bring the build servers back last night but not yet ready.
give it a bit longer, what's important is that the a2 is supported, a few more days/weeks for them to restart builds? maybe?
p.s. they hate eta's it will be fixed when it's fixed, unlike xiaomi they are doing this as a hobby on their spare time. xiaomi has 0 excuses for the way they handle the android one program, lineage does: first they dont make money off it, second most of them have actual jobs and work on lineage just on their spare time. that's why it's gonna be soo funny once users start using the official lineage for it and enjoy it far more then the official xiaomi rom.
bookmark that link, it's the only place where you'll find the official lineage rom. be warry of anythng that's not downloaded from the official site.
