So looking around for this amazing Samsung feature of AI in the camera. Scene optimizer is a setting in the camera but is greyed out and won't let me change it despite different settings. Anyone else notice this?
Tmobile 128gb model
Reboot and resetting settings fixed it. Close the thread lol

Is it possible to turnthis feature off. I cant standthat it takes forever to take a picture with this phone
The "Shoot Option" setting in the camera might have something to your liking. There was some discussion about the settings a while ago in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412397
I'm not sure if any setting will actually turn off the auto-focus, but some might be faster than others.
Hi all,
is there a way to disable (or customize) the camera mode "greenery" ?
Because imho when I frame a scene with some plants trees etc, mater ai activates this mode and the result is a photo with too saturated colors...
The grass is so green that the photo seems to be made near Chernobyl
Any suggestions?
Thanks
You can just click the X on the greenery banner whenever it recognises a frame as greenery.

When your device suggests "greenery", you can simply close the suggestion on the side (by tapping the X) and shoot it without AI. No need to completely disable it. But unfortunately, no way to customize it.
ok ok I know that I can click on X to disable (temporary) this mode. And I know that I could disable Master AI from the camera option. But disable a single mode should be very useful. If I'm in a park I have to click X every time -,-
Anyway I feared that there were no other solutions.. but in doubt it is better to ask
Hello everyone,
new to the forum. A question brings me here
I bought a Huawei P20 Pro a few days ago, I am all set up and I really like it! However, bearing in mind the camera was the main reason I purchased this phone I am having troubles. A few photos I have taken seem to be really focused in some areas but a tad blurry in others. I have looked in the settings and I have also noticed "master AI" is not there, not just turned off as per updates I have read about but not there at all in the settings!
I am on the latest update available in the UK, can anybody advise please?
Kind regards
first, open the camera app and make sure the "photo" mode is selected. then, click the setting icon on the top right. Setting menu will comes up and under "Capture Settings" you will see a switch to turn on/off the Master AI. Apart from that, there is no other Master AI settings. And you won't see the Master AI switch if you're in different mode such as "Video" or "Portraits"
Thank you, I actually reappeared after a hard reset of my phone.
Couple of questions, any tips on a very novice photographer? Basically best settings for general point and click with minimal settings changing?
Secondly, the plastic/tempered glass lens covers you can get to protect the camera lens. Are they needed? I gather the camera lens is built well for anti-scratch? Also I assume these lens covers would likely ruin the actual photo even if protecting the glass?
Hello everyone,so yesterday i recieved my new S20FE from my service provider. At first glance it seems to be a decent device. Anyway, while setting up the phone,i found that the "white balance" controls under the display settings, dont appear to be changing any colour aspects of my screen at all. No matter how i adjust the Red,Green and Blue control sliders, the the screen remains exactly the same.
Am i doing something wrong,or have i missed something? When compared to my Sony Xperia XZ2 which also has white balance controls that actually work,i may add. The Samsungs screen appears very dull and the whites are more of a cream tone than actual white, which frustrates me. Has anyone else had issues with the colour adjustment on their S20FE and is there a way to get my whites from cream to actual white?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
@Trace.Oneil I have the 5G snapdragon version and tested Vivid screen mode today. it was so garish that had to try adjusting the RGB values underneath. that too made ZERO DIFFERENCE on my phone.
I quickly went back to natural.
PS, I can't remember much about it but I've heard there's a 3rd screen mode that's hidden and can be activated with ADB. maybe look that up.
How to Enable Hidden Screen Modes in Samsung Galaxy S20 (Natural, Vivid, Cinema, Photo and Basic) - Techtrickz
The Dynamic AMOLED display on Samsung Galaxy smartphones provides the best visual experience in any lighting condition. And on the latest Galaxy phones, there are two screen modes – Vivid and Natural – under the display settings menu to choose for the best visual experience. But, did you know...

Thanks,i actually found that online and gave it a try. Although there are some differences between the modes, the RGB sliders still dont work with any of them so you cant fine-tune your screen to your preferred colour settings which is a total waste. Why even include it in the software build if it does'nt work.
I was wondering if the other modes take too much power and that's why they were hidden.
maybe that could apply to the slider ?

I doubt it would be a power issue. The mode to me that is the most intense with colour,is Vivid and that is not hidden. I think Samsung forgot about the RGB settings to be honest, and that is probably why they dont work.
Hi Everyone,
I love the camera of my MI11U. but there are a few tunings that I REALLY HATE!!! one of them is default beautify in selfie and portrait. taking photos of black objects (tried with GCAM which took a perfect shot). and a few minor others.
Searching here and there, I found a way to turn off and on some additional settings like beautify and some other functions. this will help whoever understand all these settings (not me ), so I thought to share this simple method and see your thoughts and outcomes. ***note that there are some settings are in Chinese***.
1 . go to file manager and go to phone storage....
2 . go to DCIM/camera
3 . make a new folder with the name mentioned below....
lab_options_visible
4 .save and exit.....
5 . go to settings and force stop the miui camera app....
6 . now launch the app.....
7 . go to camera settings menu of the app.....you will see new options available in there....
8 . just turn off beautify in portrait mode....
9 . come back....change to selfie mode....tap on the blue star.....now tap on clear.....
Hope this helps everyone to take better photos.
would much appreciate if we can share the benefits of these settings in order to get best results.
Wow, this is amazing. Thx
Hi Hassanaliyeh , which version of gcam do you use?

I am using GCam Wichaya 8.1.101 V1.4
it is not perfect, original xiaomi camera is impressive with all functions and control of device way better than GCam. but GCam is better in some conditions and scenarios like taking a photo of a far black object or photos of people. with Xiaomi, far black objects will be like a void in a photo and no details at all in it, and beautify is so annoying. with GCam, both are better, but colours are less vibrant and saturated.

The reason I made this thread is to share experience and understand what exactly they do. I really do not know any other that beautify in portrait disables it for all camera modes and not only portrait.
I found the following over internet by someone tested them on Mi10 devices, and some features are not mentioned or were disabled with previous devices. hope it helps at a start.
Internal magic tools : activates internal tools to improve the quality of photos and videos.
Face detection : the mobile camera can recognize the face and frame it in a box to improve the result.
Hide face detection frame automatically : this option hides the box that appears when activating the previous option but keeps the improvements.
Beautify in Portrait mode : Activate beauty mode in all camera modes.
Turn on dual camera : turn on dual camera to enhance photos.
Turn on dual SAT camera – currently does not have a user function.
Turn on MFNR : when activated, the device takes 6 consecutive shots which when superimposed and eliminate the noise from the photo.
Turn on SR : with this option the resolution of the image is enlarged as if the sensor of the mobile were larger.
Turn on quick shot animation : activate the quick shot animation in the app.

Thanks for explaining the features.
Thanks for the tip. One of the options I really like to see is the ability to pick the metering type (full frame average, center weighted average or spot metering). Can be quite useful. Seems like center weighted is the default.

Tried on xiaomi.eu latest weekly and didn't work. There is a modded miui cam in a Telegram group. Can't give TG links since some butthurt people hate me and sharing TG links appears to be against the "rules". Just search up "Sevtinge's Mods". That cam got many more options to tweak for, especially the Leica stuff.
