So I had a few apps get the infinite Installing Android Market bug thanks to a wireless router dying at a bad time. The only thing that worked short of doing a factory reset was to uninstall the market update.
So my question is how do I get the Market update to reinstall?
Thanks
(Not rooted, stock ROM)
Uninstall application, then reinstall. Just a hunch.

Were it only so simple. The 2.2 market enchancements were a silent upgrade, so there's no market link. And beyond that, the Market no long appears up on the manage Applications list in the system settings.
I've been having the same issues as well, very frustrating! I've been searching here and good ol' google on how to get that update back...to no avail yet.
Did you ever get any success?
Pulled this. See if it works for you.
Thanks
Trying to side load it now, but I can't seem to get droid explorer to work. sigh.....
It connects to the phone fine, but then when I go to install the package, it gives me a new window that wants to install something. I don't really remember that window coming up in the past, but to be honest it's been quite awhile since I've used droidexplorer... So I click isntall, and the program immediately crashes.
So, I put the file on my web server, and downloaded it from there. (Got some annoying lovely messages about the phone being out of space until I cleared the browser download list....) It downloaded fine, but when I go to install it, I get "Parse Error There is a problem parsing the package."
On an odd hunch, I started poking around the file structure in DroidExplorer, and was able to pull my own MarketUpdater.apk out and save it to the computer. So I threw that on the webserver, and was able to download it fine, AND re-install it. No idea if that will actually DO anything, but hey, figured it was worth a shot.
So now that I've waited 15 minutes after reinstalling the marketupdater.apk, (big surprise) nothing's changed.
EDIT:
Went to grab a sandwich for lunch, and decided to pop into the ATT store since it was right next to where I was eating. Asked one of the reps that I have a pretty good relationship with about the issue, and he said a customer came in not too long ago with the same issue, and the only resolution was a system wipe. Hopefully we can get around it...Of course, if not, and I do have to do a wipe, I'll just upgrade to 2.2....
Okay. I feel very stupid at the moment. I am using the Android 2.3.4, released by Paul, with the new Android Market.
Today the app told my there was an update for Wapedia, and i clicked the app, but there was no update button. Only open and uninstall.
I login to the market place on my PC, and I was able to update Wapedia through there.
Has any of you experienced anything like that? Is it a bug in the New Android market, in the Wapedia App or is it me being plain stupid can't figure out how to update the app?
Any suggestions?
i think i know what's the problem... I had the same issue with Google+ because it's not available naturally in my region, so I used Market Enabler to install it, then I disabled Market Enabler... then when I could update the G+ app, there wasn't the update button, so I reenabled the Market Enabler, went back to market, and suddenly the update button was there...
So, I think you should enable the Market Enabler, and fake for example the T-Mobile USA, and you will have the ability to update... I hope I could help, if not, then sorry, but it is worth to try out
cheers

Thanks for your fast answer. I've downloaded Market Enabler, and I will try your suggestion if I experience this problem again
Maybe it's just a problem with this app, so now I just have to wait and see when some other app gets an update.
Was your problem in the new Android Market as well?
I can't really remember, since I used it since the time it first appeared on the net... but maybe yes It shouldn't be related to the market app itself, rather geo restrictions

Thanks. I will wait and see. I will post an update in here when something new happens
Make sure, that you have root, and SU is granted for the Market Enabler
Happens to me all the time on this new Market. I just ignore it and come back to it later.
The update is there but isn't ready. Come back awhile later and u will have the update button.
I got an update from Beautiful Widgets now and it worked like a charm without market enabler
Thanks for the help guys. Thought I was being retarted for not to know how to update an app
Sometimes when I update any of my apps that I have installed on my xoom, It will start to download them and then nothing will happened. It's like it get's hung or something. Then there is a message on the notifications bar that says "this application is already installed", even though the market is telling me there is an update. This has happened more often in the last few days with the Google Doc app and the Pulse app updates. It will take several tries to get the update to work, or sometimes I would uninstall the app and reinstall the new version to get around this glitch. Has anybody else had the same issue?

Be wary of "forcing" OTA updates using Framework Services trick, breaks stuff
I've seen this posted before in many of the "4.1.2" threads, but the info is likely to get buried in there, and since I have personally experienced this myself with my GNex, I figured I'd post this in a new thread.
The method of force stopping/clearing the data of Framework Services in the All Apps list to force any OTA to download will cause you a lot of headaches after the update. There are a couple of issues that I could see.
Firstly, ANY app (not just Google apps) that uses push notifications for anything WILL break. The only way to fix them is to either force stop/clear data from ALL of those apps (meaning you might potentially lose important app data as this basically resets the app back to when you first downloaded it), and set all of them back up again, OR to do a Factory Reset of the entire device after your device is updated.
Secondly, you will NOT be able to download apps from the Play Store weblink and "push" them to your device. The Play Store will NOT see your device anymore as it won't be in your devices list. There might be a way to fix this, but I haven't found it, aside from again, doing a Factory Reset and setting up your device from scratch. Even if I logged out/deleted my Google account, and re-logged in/re-added, this did not fix the problem.
Thirdly, Google Music/Play Store purchases of Books/Movies/Magazine/Music seem to be broken at times. Whatever the authorization process Google uses, you break it when you clear Framework Services. This happened to me once, and might have only been a one-time deal, but please be wary of this.
Now, like I've said, I've run into these issues on my Galaxy Nexus while forcing OTAs. The only way I could proceed with my newly updated device without constant Google Services/Play Store/Notification issues was to completely reset my phone and start from scratch. Now I know some people like to do this between major updates anyway, to start the device fresh, so this wouldn't apply to you anyway since you would update and then immediately Factory Reset, but if you're just planning on updating and keeping your device configured the way it is now, you will run into these issues (and potentially others that we don't know about yet).
A better idea to me would be to either wait for the OTA to be pushed automatically, or to save yourself time, flash to stock using the new factory images. Would save you a lot of time by doing that, rather than figuring out what apps broke and what you need to fix, and how to fix them.
Please be wary of this, and know the consequences if you do attempt it.
I can confirm that messing with the Framework to force the OTA does muck up purchases and update of apps through Google Play.
So be advised. You'll most likely have to delete your Google account off the device and clear Google App cache, restart, the reenter you Google account info to get Google Play back to normal.

Failed OTA leading to a minor disaster?
Damn and blast! I read this seconds after I did this little trick. I've not yet run the 2nd OTA... might I escape the consequences of my trusting foolishness?
I did it because the scheduled OTA failed and was aborted (said CWM Recovery) but I failed to note the exact error message. Could this have been caused by it being rooted, as little else has been done to screw the Nexus around?
Where is the update stored before it is processed? Not on 'SDcard'. Is it a full download or a stub for a later big download?

i used this method and have had no issues with none of the stuff you described. Its actually running flawlessly right now. I also forced the update on my Gnote (yes not a google device, but still a android force update) with no issue.
edit: I only cleared the data, not forced stop
Yep I know I, oldblue910 and others have warned people about this and it was just glossed over..
Oh well.. At least people are trying..
This is how I updated mine and haven't noticed any problems. What would be a sure fire way of knowing that this method caused some problem? My account is recognized in the Play store and apply updates are recognized. Thanks.

Same thing with the Nexus S about 6 months ago. Peeps trying to get the OTA early and breaking stuff on their phones. So I left well alone during the 4.1.2. update and just waited.
This method always came with a warning.
No problems with my device being recognised on the web play store. Also reset my main apps to get notifications working properly.
All fine here

I massive forced this method to get 4.1.2 on my Nexus 7. I stopped this procces and deleted data again and again for 3 days until the update appeared.
Concretly, I had to do this trick 6 times in a row just before I got the update option.
And my device runs flawlessly, I can install from web gplay to the device, all my apps using push services hadn't a single problem, etc.
Before being that catastrophic, you'd get sure if this affects Nexus 7 or was a problem in Gnexus only..
I did this "trick" about 4 times to force the update. I did not stop the process, only cleared data.
My device seems to be running normally. I get gmail, can access the play store, and can remotely install apps from the web interface. I'll keep an eye on it though to see if I get any side effects.
seems to be only a issue with the nexus phone since no 1 has reported having this problem with the nexus 7.

It'll show up eventually, nothing to freak over. Just for preventive measures.. Remove your Google account on your phone and re-add it.. Your Nexus 7 should show back up on the Play website in less than 12hrs..

How do you remove the Google account on the Nexus 7?? I don't see a way to remove it, only a way to add an account.

Just for future reference.. To remove your Google account from the Tablet
Settings.. Tap on the Google account under accounts / Tap on the section with your email and little sync icon / Tap the menu button / remove account.
You are incorrect here in number of points. I've done this many times and while yes, push notifications stop working for a while in some apps, they start working again soon after. What happens is that you end up removing Google connection data from your phone, this is why the device becomes lost for Google Play, why push notifications fail and so on.
The reason why many don't have any clue that this happens is that this restores itself automatically. Why? Because it still has Google Account. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESET YOUR PHONE. If you experience these problems, then just wait. Longest I had to wait for it to reset was about a day, but it generally happens much quicker.
You can speed this process up usually by visiting Play Store on your phone and just in case starting every app you have that has push notifications registered for once.
Your phone will do all the work.
Haven't had any issues since I did the force update. All apps still push notifications and at the play store website my n7 is still there with all my apps.

I was bored yesterday and wanted to see if there were any updates, to my surprise there was a update for the gear manager. I installed it last night and apart from the updating process totally bugging out and freezing my phone needing a battery pull to fix....after the restart it installed fine.
I am now getting much better battery life out of the gear...it's at 99% after 3 hours off charger and moderate use. And that's with a watch styler face! So definitely worth doing this upgrade. Also...I would highly recommend uninstalling watch styler prior to the update. Then 're download a new one from the store.
I hope that I see some differences in power management.. So far what was the main issue for me is EXACTLY the same-
1. no change in contacts => they are still listed BY THE FIRST NAME - for me useless as I have a lot of contacts (In CONTACTS - GEAR Watch displays contact names listed by first name – even if they are listed on the NOTE3 by last name - this is true bug)
2. Still no way to see "contacts" and "favorite contacts" => You can only see one OR the other - I need BOTH!
Please list here things You would like to get - maybe SAMSUNG guys are reading this forum... for me:
- predefined SMS answers for the incoming calls
- battery level on the main screen (can be done through watch styler)
- ability to display temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity… (all of those sensors are in NOTE3... but maybe some of them on the watch as well?)
- seconds on the main screen
- calculator
- compass
when going to the Samsung store it prompts to install on device.
On device it does nothing when trying to update. Anyone else getting this same issue?

If your having issues, uninstall gear manager and 're install

Well that worked and fixed alot of the problems i've been seeing (Contact sync, Call history, etc)
I think i lost my root though. It did a reset of the gear. I probably could have stopped it but before i realized what i did...it was too late.
I just lost root as well, it tried to restore but got to 94% then error.

Anyway I can get an apk of this somewhere? Still waiting for them to update my Mega to 4.3 and so far haven't gotten my brick watch to work properly on the older gear manager apps.
Can someone please upload the newest update. It would be greatly appreciated

I'm seeing v1.2.131013 (23 Oct) (This is the regular Samsung app store (search for Gear) not the gear app store (LOL so confusing)
The install hung on me at 3 of 19 but rebooted my phone and it installed fine over the other version when it came back up,

Interesting. They must've updated the app version number, but not the store version number. I just checked my app (the apk I posted before) and it is actually the 131013 version!

V1.5.121601 issue
so I woke up this morning all happy about the latest Gear Manager update and the fact that going into notifications and selecting more notifications showed the texting app I use Textra. Selected it and tested and sure enough it worked just fine, now that part happened on the 26th. Back to this morning (27th) and there is another update version 1.5.121601 and without asking me the little beastie proceeded to update. We all know the routine after the update, comes the restore question I answered 'yes' finished. Went into gear manager (yes the watch did install) and selected Notification > More Notifications, and that where the program froze. after about 2min it came up with an informational prompt "Gear Manager isn't responding. Do you wish to close it?" elections were Wait and OK. choosing Wait gets a 2min wait time and then the same message, OK closes out the program and then restarts it.
I have,
set everything back to factory resulting in same result
reset the watch and the note 3 resulting in same result
uninstalled/reinstalled Gear Manager same result
any ideas or is there a way to roll-back to the previous version
thanks for reading :fingers-crossed:
