T710 problem - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have an existing thread here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/general/t710-help-t3839403
But this problem, I found the latest firmware i could find, and used Odin to flash it, with the firmware in the AP" box.
T710XXU2DRB1_T710XSA2DRB1_HOME.tar.md5 (Yes, Australian Firmware, for Australia).
But the problem now, is after flashing, (Odin passed), the tablet tries to boot, gets to the white Samsung flashing text and just sits there.
[edit] It seems I need the PIT file for the tablet, does anyone have the PIT file for an Australian (XSA) T710 ?.
I did notice one posted on these forums for EUR_OPEN, Can I use that one or does it need to be for my area ?
Are the T713 pit files compatible ?

Problems going back to stock rom on UK unlocked Tab

Hi - I bought an unlocked UK G-Tab which I think was P1000XWJJ7. Samsung Keis said there were no updates but when I looked at samfirmware.com it seemed my firmware was produced in October 2010 and there was a European firmware P1000XWJMK from Feb 22 2011. Must be better I thought! Anyway I used the Eur Pid file and the P1000XWJMK files with Odin 1.7 and it was all going fine until I hit a fail message about movinand.mst. Try as I might it won't work. So I downloaded the JJ7 firmware again (this was not as 3 seperate files, but one tar file) but try as I might it keeps failing to flash. I've tried various pit files but none seem to work.
Can anyone help me get back to the default UK unlocked rom?!
Your ROM is bootloader locked which prevents downgrading. There is a patch for that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888071 (READ WHOLE THREAD AND DISCLAIMER).
Thanks for the advice but I don't think I've managed to end up with a locked bootloader. I can flash several different ROMS but after each one succeeds I get stuck on the "Samsung Galaxt Tab" screen that comes up on reboot. I can't seem to get into recovery mode.
Another quick question - if a firmware file from samfirmware.com only has one tar file, is that the PDS, PHONE and CSC all bundled together, or just one of them? Sorry I am a noob!

[Q] Q : how to flash samfirmware tar file ?

hi every one
i just downloaded il orange rom 2.3.3 from sammobile i tried million times to flash it with odin , odin every time says pass but the i9000 just still booting .
i tried to remove the battery , to use pit file with the rom , to flash with defferent odin versions but it still the same , odin says pass but the phone booting all the time .
the rom is a tar file .
( every else rom "not tar file" working fine , but i need to flash the original rom )
any body can help me please ?
Download this guide. It is a direct link from the sammobile site.
How long are you waiting for the phone to start up. If you aren't waiting up to 30mins it is not long enough.
You should receive all the files required within the .zip file you downloaded from sammobile.com. If it was a single .tar file put it in PDA, if it is .pit file as well use that as well.
Does that help?
thank you , but i waited more than 30 min until the phone had become very hot then i feared to broke it .
it's a single tar file , should i use pit file with it ?
( in the guide samsung explains how to flash with non single file rom )
If the pit file came with the package then yes use it!
Can you give me a link to the rom you downloaded, and a link to the page you saw the list of firmwares for you.
What rom were you using before?
Also copy and paste what is says when you finish flashing, a screenshot would probably be better.
And lastly have you tried another computer?

3. i tried another original roms like cellcom rom its the same , but another roms like 2.3.6 and ics working just fine only the roms from sammobile do this to me .
4. i don't know how to take screen shoot of the mobile.

Make sure re-partition was ticked when you use the pit file.
Is there any reason you need a stock rom??
Ok it could be a bug with that FW somehow, try the links here
If the link is not there or after you try and flash the above rom and you still want to install the FW from sammobile then try after using the most similar firmwares above.
Finally if all that still doesn't work then download and install this.
Hopefully after installing that you can install the original. Or just stay with one of the other original roms above. I don't think having a carrier version of the rom is that important, but you know better than me because I assume it is important in your country.
If you do decide to stick with any of the firmware above then make sure you type in *#262*your imei# and select your correct csc code (3 letter code). Changing the selected code will reboot and factory reset your phone!

first of all thanks to you for helping me
second : i need afirmware with arabic , hebrew & english interface build in - only the il original one have this .
third : there is 3 providers in israel cellcom pelephone & orange , orange have a special band not like the others & this is the provider i use .
4. all the non original roms and ics's have too much problems , like radio dosn't work , low signal , market unfotunetly stoped , Restarts suddenly.
If you have a special band are you sure you have the i9000?? Is it another version of i9000 like i9000T or something. Check your box or the back of your phone after taking out the battery.
Again have you checked the firmware here it is the original firmware. It has JV9 firmware and therefore probably has your languages.. and once the correct csc is in and your APN is correct all should be fine.
This is all assuming that your phone is actually gt-i9000 not another variant.
Also the links i provide are generally quite stable and so have little or no bugs. For example this is known to be quite stable. However i am not sure about the languages..
Just found this link click by searching for the firmware name in google
And then if that doesn't work then you are not meant to have that update. Use the link for the firmware called I9000JHJV8 on sammobile, it is the earlier firmware however should fit your requirements. After setting the CSC and apn attach it to your computer with Kies and it will update to the latest.

thank you

Above link is a thread on xda, that has stock firmware... find one you want the same one if you can...
http://samsung-updates.com/gt-i9000-samsung-galaxy-s/
Is a link to list that has same firmware you are trying to use from sammobile.
The reason i am giving you these links is because the files that you downloaded from sammobile.com may be corrupted. These are alternative links of the SAME firmware but different files.
Finally if these do not work and you have the same outcome that the phone does not boot. Then download and install the firmware called I9000JHJV8 on sammobile.com. It is the earlier firmware however should fit your requirements. After setting the CSC and APN connect your phone to your PC. Use Samsung Kies to update your phone.

i thing you are not understanding me , the proccess of flashing the phone completes just fine and the phone start booting but it still booting ( the booting animation working fine ) it get not into the system .
i think the problem is the single tar file because all the roms with three files and icses working fine .
if there is a way to un.tar the file and made from it 3 md5 files to flash with odin maybe it will works.

you are very kind person . thank you very much . thats it .
every thing works fine .

Failed Odin3 flash.

I got my hands on a Sm-g800h online, the phone originated from the United Arab Emirates and was running 4.3 IIRC, i decided try flashing for the first time to get 6.0.1 and found this video
watch?v=cwHIXbhiyQo
I downloaded the usb drivers listed there which are from 2015, Odin 3.09.
i went to sammobile and downloaded an md5 from Paraguay (Claro), and followed the video up until the flash succeeds, it was a fail for me. I did not read the reason for failure because i got distracted by the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue..." screen, i tried flashing a couple more times and then found a few threads from this forum with troubleshooting guides. I downloaded the most recent drivers posted here, then deleted those and downloaded Kies and killed the processes.
After trying a couple more times I accidentally ticked "re-partition", although i didn't point to a PIT file and hit start. The flash failed again and i'm not sure if i screwed up my phone even more. After that, i noticed that the fail also said (size) and read on some threads that using roms from other carriers/countries could be the cause. I'm currently downloading the 6.0.1 rom from the United Arab Emirates found on Sammobile but i'm not sure if this is gonna work.
Did i completely brick my phone? Will switching to the UAE rom work? if not, Where would i get the PIT file to make sure it works, i read that using a PIT file risks bricking the MB for good.
Update: Seems like the country thing was on the money, the UAE rom i downloaded worked. Let this be a cautionary tale for future dum dums like me.

This brick, soft or hard?

I'm not at all experienced with Android or mobile devices in general, and I have an old T813 WiFi (2016) that I needed to root.
I flashed twrp-3.5.0_9-0-gts210vewifi and that worked fine. Except, TWRP couldn't see the download directory where I dropped the magisk zip. I didn't seem to see any internal storage besides the root FS (tab has 60 gig and no sd card).
So on the advice of the internet, I used TWRP to wipe and reformat, resulting in not being able to boot. It gets stuck at the pulsing Samsung logo forever.
I did a factory reset with TWRP and no change.
I then tried to flash stock 6.x firmware using Odin but it failed with an Auth error, I believe due to the device not permitting "downrgades".
So then I used Odin to flash the closest thing to a stock 7.0 ROM that I could find, which was T813XXS2BSJ3_T813XAR2BSA2_XAR from www.sammobile.com. That flashed successfully, the tab rebooted to the stock recovery and loaded the new image, but on the next reboot we were back to same old pulsing Samsung. I left it for a couple of hours, then tried rebooting again, but no change.
I hope it's just that that firmware was for the cell version of the tab, an. d I need the WiFi version. If anyone knows where I can find the right 7.0 firmware for the SM-T813 (2016) it would be greatly appreciated.
I would also welcome any other advice for dealing with this thing.
I'm from the US, and I still have boxes for 3 of my 4 T813s. The part numbers all end in XAR. That being said I went through my filers, and the last ODIN file I used was a XAC file. Looking at Sammobile, just looks like XAC is Canada, XAR is celluar south.
I'm assuming if TWRP couldn't see the directory, you had an encryption issue.
I know I'm still running Akipe's beta TWRP, found in this post. I know it's an "older" version, but I've never upgraded as it had a bunch of fixes that the official one didn't have. Not sure if that ever got corrected or not at this point. That's a question I will ask actually.
OhioYJ,
I have the WiFi version, so it has no sim and no LTE radio, I assume. I'm pretty sure the XAR file is for cellular tabs. I did try it, and it did flash OK via Odin, but it wouldn't boot.
I couldn't find the stock 7.0 version for WiFi anywhere, so I ended up flashing Lineage instead. The tab works now, rooted, so all is well.
I also used the modified TWRP version linked on the Lineage site, which allows MTP in recovery mode so I could dump files where TWRP could find them.
I do wish I could find the stock ROM for the WiFi tab, just in case.

All the T813s in my house are wifi too, no LTE. Those boxes end in XAR, it's like that even on my newer Tab S5e. So I don't think cellular south necessarily refers to LTE. That being said, the one I have saved on my PC is XAC (Canada), and there are still plenty of XAC firmware files that site.
Either way glad you got it working.

SM-R845X Live Demo Unit - Can't flash any 845 firmwares only 840

So I got a demo unit on ebay advertised as SM-R845U
When I got it I immediately removed the demo mode firmware. The odd thing is the only firmware that would work are 840's. I used the combo firmware for 840 to change the CSC region and pulled the prodit and it was 845X indicating a LDU. I did not change the last digit when I modified the file. Wondering if changing the prodid would have any impact.
I have tried the combo firmware for 845 and stock firmwares for 845 but it fails at re-partition in odin. I have pulled the appropriate PIT files and tried to flash it manually to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.
Let me be more specific I tried the WF and U combo firmwares for 845. Some failed the MD5 check and other just gave me the same re-partition fail followed by RQT undefined Ack
I can't get my hand on the combo firmware for the X variant. Don't really want to pay unless I'm sure that it will work.
[Tutorial] Downgrade Gear S2 (Sport/Classic) to Pair with iPhone again
Firstly, this is not my tutorial, all I do is translating my Vietnamese brother's work to English. So credit is belong to him haihapc2 (he is here as well) Tools you need: Wifi Odin...

In netOdin Document something with not supported repartition... if I remember correct...
Not checked yet. Never tried to repartition...
