Downgrade global beta 10 to global stable latest version - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

My bootloader is locked. I want to do it with recovery rom. Is it possible without bricking my device?

For China version, you have a chance switch to miui 10 stable when net miui 10 stable OTA available.
Fro Global version? I don't know , I see no notification.

You have a phone that came with an unofficial/fake global ROM. OTA won't work.
Your options are to install an official ROM or a known reputable custom ROM.
Official ROMs will have OTA working, custom ROMs will need you to update them manually.

You can flash official Chinese or Indian ROMs. The Indian ROM is more or less a global ROM, but disables the NFC. The Chinese ROM only has Chinese and English languages, but setting English you will still find the occasional Chinese text creep in. Also it has more ads in system apps.
If you need NFC and want to stay on official ROMs, then it's Chinese. If you can live without NFC then the Indian ROM is a better option, it has the POCO launcher that includes an app draw, you'll not get any Chinese text and there's a lot less ads.
This post has the links for official ROMs, the second post in the thread gives a guide for installing.

Chinese stable rom to eu?

Hi all, my mi 9 currently has the Chinese rom which I would like to replace with the stable EU/US. Can I do so without unlocking bootloader? thx!
No way to flash miui eu rom because it without fastbootrom.
So you just can flash MIUI EN Global stable ROM by fastboot method.

Hey, I really need a new phone and im waiting for the Global but it seems like it wont release anytime soon and if yes, Its ridiculous prices like 1400$ while the chinese u can literally get it for 950$.
I was wondering if I order the Chinese rom and flash a global rom will i get OTA updates?
based on previous experience with zte and huawei i would be inclined to say yes. however, it may be too soon to tell with xiaomi

Hello bro
Can you please tell the instruction to transfer to Global rom, because all the procedures i found are to transfer to xiaomi.eu rom only.
I will be very gratefull if you tell indetail instruction, bootloader already unlocked.
And tell if i need to update the china rom to the latest version or not, i want to avoid fastboot loop, also attach the rom links if possible )
Thanx

Just download the fastboot version of global ROM, unzip all the way until you get to scripts and folders. Now you can use flash with format command prompt script using your pc.

Question Flag 12.5 EU rom to global mi 11 ultra

Hi sorry it this has been asked before but I've recently received my mi 11 ultra global version from Vodafone UK. Like the phone but some issues that are making me debate whether to keep it. Touches missing, battery life and sub par camera. Because I'm on the global version I'm on MiUI 12.0.2. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can flash the EU rom onto this to try out 12.5 to see if I want to keep the phone. I highly doubt we'll see a global release for 12.5 before my time to return the device runs out. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks
You need to apply for the bootloader unlock process ( takes around 7 days ) and then you can flash the fastboot xiaomi.eu ROM on it just fine.
Good luck !
Brilliant thanks for the reply mate
So my bootloader is unlocked. I got Chinese model with global flashed. Can i flash EU rom via fastboot itself?

Of course you can especially by fastboot. You can flash EU custom ROM or EEA The only problem is you will have Chinese Bands no matter what ROM you install.

Flash it by twrp, not fastboot. Just in case. It's much safer by twrp. And of course, you'll need to track down a Vodafone ROM to return it if you do but I doubt it after flashing EU. And don't worry about the bands as someone said, you'll not miss out on anything.

I am assuming you mean stock. That would actually be the EEA rom. The Xiaomi.eu rom, which is the China rom. minus Chinese bloat and Google services added in must be flashed using TWRP.

He could flash the earlier one by fastboot
Why would flash a rom from over a month ago? The last fastboot rom was issued 5-13.

If you want 13.0.7.0 flash it with miflash.(not global but EEA).

If your device is Chinese do not lock the bootloader.

You can upgrade with OTA , but you can't use Miflash with a locked bootloader.
You cannot upgrade from global to EEA without unlocking the bootloader.

This may be due to settings or you did not format the data before the flash.
