Hi, I just got the 8.9 3g Tab (P7300).
when I insert the Sim card to the device, it still shows "Please insert sim card"
and when I go to Setting, Network service. It tells me "Insert sim card to access network service".
I tested my Sim card to my Phone, it is ok. and i don't think there is anything wrong in the position of sim card when I placed to my 8.9 tab (metal surface face down)
I also did some research on the possibility of lost/corrupt data in EFS folder.
However, I saw my IMEI and Serial no is showing correctly (Not "unknown" or the default one). and I tried to odin the stocks 3.2 rom, wipe eveything. And i also tried to recover the nv_data files and do the chmod radio radio to that files under EFS. it still doesn't work.
does anyone here have some advise for me?
Thanks so much.
sounds silly but did you insert it far enough?
you really have to push down hard until you hear a little "click" the card then should stay in position.
did you install a p5 (3g) rom and not a p5wifi only?
Yes. the rom i flash is P5 3g room and for P7300 not P7310...
and I do hear the sound and the Sim card totally locked inside.
and I need to Push it to eject it out.
So i have no idea why it doesn't work.
is your phone 4g? if you insert a 4g sim into a 3g device it wont work. this probably isnt the case, but who knows....maybe they messed up your data plan and gave you a 4g sim for your 3g device.
did you get your tab from a carrier? did you buy it used and the guy before you had it from a carrier? if so maybe its sim locked?!
just guessing here though :S
How can I know whether my device has sim lock or not?
And how can I get it unlocked if so?
As my device is given by my fd so I don't know whether it is locked or not.
But I am sure it is 3g device instead of lte and my similar card is also 3g
Has anyone had problems with LTE tab s 8.4" sim card ?
the signal bars all the time are full as if there is sim card in the device. i tried inserting two nano sim cards with micro adapter it immediately asks to restart as Sim card detected..
I place sim card, restart and NOTHING !
same full bar signal all the time with/without sim. Still says no sim card inserted.
Device from singapore.
Now i know 8.4 LTE tab S is 3g/4g sim card compatible and sim cards work perfectly otherwise. i reset factory settings with no results !
going to mobile networks trying to chose networks also gives error of no network available.
ANy ideas/ Help !
thank you

I have the same thing as well when no simcard is inserted. Per understanding, the phone automatically logs on to any network so you could dial the emergency number (in your country)
Hey I for some unknown reason cant connect to my network whatsoever. No 3rd party roms nothing just the most recent Lolipop update. Sim card is in lock screen says emergency calls only. Network operators all options are greyed out. Here is the weird part. Under APN's it tells me there is no sim card when the screen loads, however when i eject the sim card and put it back in its not until i eject it that the rest of the phone recognizes there is no sim card. Did my sim card fry or what do you think?
Some answers found solo
so i pulled an app off play to check the info of my sim card and lo and behold there appears to be nothing on the card whatsoever. anyone have a suggestion for an app that is known to be current and working for this just in case its the app?

Simplest would be to go in store and ask another sim card just to test it. Looks like a bad sim card or maybe an hardware problem with the sim contacts
I've got my phone setup with a Fido (Canada) data SIM and MTN (Nigeria) SIM for roaming in the second slot. I am using a sim adapter so a 128gb Samsung memory card is also hooked in. For some reason the MTN roaming SIM will not receive calls, most callers to that SIM card are told the number isn't available. However, if I switch off the second data SIM, the First SIM will then be able to receive calls without any problems. I've taken out the sim adapter and memory card, but this still persists.
Has anyone experienced this before or know a way to fix this?

So the phone is not a dual-SIM phone, it is only with the "adapter"?
It is a dual SIM phone alright. These hybrid dual SIM can either take two SIM cards or one SIM card and a memory card. If you want all 3, then you need to use an adapter to achieve that.
I have a Huawei Mate 20 lite model using 2 sim cards. The problem I am having is that I can only have one sim card with LTE and VolTE option active. I need to make the other sim to have both LTE and VolTE option active too. Please any advise on how to fix this is welcome.
I did check if this is a sim card problem and I installed this sim card that cannot get active the LTE/VolTE in another cell phone and in that cell phone I was able to actived the LTE/VolTE. So this tell me if not a sim card problem and it is pointing to a device problem.
If this option LTE/VolTE can be active only in one the sim card, then I would like to know how can I make this change to the sim card I want to hace this option. I tried to swap the sim card and did not solve this problem. Please if anyone have any suggestion please let me know. Thanks.
If you have active LTE on that card and the option is not visible, ask the operator if this model is supported.
Also you can check in the developer options if you can select "lte on two SIM cards",
