This thread is dedicated for the any and all discussion related to bootloader unlock process and experience on Redmi 6 Pro
Where did you buy the phone from(country!)? Were you able to unlock in the first attempt? If not, what is your waiting time as shown by Mi unlock?
Edit
There is a poll attached too. You won't be able to view it in Tapatalk or Xda app. Use chrome or other browser. Vote only if you have tried to unlock the bootloader and not otherwise, so that we get a clear picture of bootloader unlock times.
Too much wait. I couldn't unlock it yet but I'm waiting cause I need to install Xiaomi.eu ROM

How old were each of these accounts? Was there anything special about the third account or was it just random luck!

Hii guys
I am tired of unlocking booloader of redmi pro 6. First it showed 720 hrs then after 15 days it showing again 720 hrs with same account. I have created 3 acc. But all showing same.
Can anybody share old xiaomi accont pls that would be a great help for people like me.
I requested it some days ago, I hope I could get it unlock as soon as the 643 hours end because it seems that Xiaomi doesn't want bootloader unlocking.

Whenever I try to play a movie that I have previously purchased in the Google Play Movies app I get the message 'Playback isn't supported on this device'. When I try to download it to the phone, I get 'Couldn't fetch license (error -1)'. I am however able to play the movie on TV via chromecast.
I have done a bit of searching around and one proposed solution is to play the movies in Youtube. I can indeed see my purchases in Youtube but when I try to play it says 'this video is not playable on this device'.
My previous phone is a Huawei P9 and it all worked fine. This is my first Xiaomi phone. I am on Chinese stock rom.
Any suggestions please?
Do you have root enabled? It sounds like Google Play Movies is detecting a rooted phone.

I'm hoping to install EU ROM, waiting for bootloader unlock approval.

How long have you waited? I'm on my 30th hour just about. Seen them say up to ten days I think I saw in a fresh thread over at the MIUI forums recently. Even though according to the instructions, they have improved on response time. Sure I can wait, but I have just created my mi account. Read that seasoned and active users gets first dibs. Would just be awful to wait a week and then get turned down. By the second "inning" my application text would probably be in all caps:silly:

Yes , en.miui Developer rom has better performance (in my case or opinión) but i had problems with bluetooth that didn´t happen on China Developer rom.
The unlock process takes a while, but if it takes longer than 10 days you can make a thread asking to unlock yours in the forums here : http://en.miui.com/forum-64-1.html
Check out the stickies there first before posting though, you need to use a "template" to make your thread

I finally got an unlock code last night after waiting for 2 days. But if my hing was my phone came unlocked lol. Stupid me didn't check until a day later after reading someone mentioning that the phone might be unlocked from the seller so I checked and it was.
I would recommend you do a unlock check via command line (CMD on Windows) first before assuming. Google "how to check if my phone is unlock" to get the exact command. It might save you some time from waiting and it only takes a few mins to find out.

Yep - fixed it for me too. I had the same problem with the new Netflix download feature. It was not showing up under the CN Stable rom but works great with the EU one.
I wanted to unlock my bootloader. For this you need to generate the unlock key.
However, when I go to https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/index it just says "Page not found". No matter what browser I use.
Is anyone else seeing this?

Exactly. You can see the link in the cached site on Google. I think they took it down. Hopefully just for maintenance.
I was going for an unlock on different Huawei model and can confirm the site is NOT WORKING.
Wow.
I tried emailing them directly through the adress posted on the EMUI website. I got a quick response:
Code:
Address not found
Your message wasn't delivered to [email protected] because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.
The response from the remote server was:
550 5.1.1 Error: invalid recipients is found from 209.85.128.176
That's disappointing.
Just wanted to Unlock and Flash unofficial TWRP today to start playing with my new phone. If the site stays down, buying a Huawei phone was the worst decision I made Smartphone wise. And definitivly will be my last China phone then...

Well,if you have a Mate 10,you can still unlock it ,but you have to pay 4 euro.Look for DC-Unlocker.
I went onto Twitter and @huaweiUK requested the unlock bootloader code for me.
Thank you! I have a Mate 10 pro. Do you know if it works with that model? Do I Need to use DC unlocker or DC phoenix for that? I already frp unlocked my fathers phone (also Mate 10 pro) using DC phoenix. He bricked it due to no data decrypting TWRP beeing available back then and Messing around in /System. BTW, thank you very much for your hard work offering the decrypting TWRP!
I am afraid that the already low development for this phone won't increase much if they block official unlocking now
Edit: Unfortunately they don't seem to support Mate 10 pro for unlocking:

Yes it does.I never asked Huawey for my code, and i have a Mate 10 Pro.DC Phoenix is not needed, just DC_Unlocker orHCU Client.Use HCU Client and request BL Code, then you could use that tool to unlock or directly fastboot with:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock your_unlock_code

But why? It's our phone and we're free to do whatever we want abour it. Is it because they gather data from their stock ROMS and flashing LOS based roms will defer that? Lol
Can someone please make a guide on how to unlock the bootloader and install the global ROM on the chinese version?
Just read it. It's simple.

I'm having some problems unlocking. If I go to the site above and click on "Unlock Now" it takes me to a Chinese site which I can't navigate.
If I use the miflash_unlock.exe I get part of the way through and it says:
Can't unlock. Your account isn't associated with a phone number
I've googled it and some advice is to go to your account, but once again I'm redirected to a Chinese site.
Has anyone got round this?
Thanks

I translated the Chinese text using Google and it said my details failed validation. The next button was to change my password which I did. I entered my email address and clicked, but never received the password change email.

You certainly have an option to change language on site to English, search at bottom.
Yes I tried that, but it came up with a script error for any language. It seems to be working now though. I had to log into my account and add a recovery phone number. Then turn off wifi and enable mobile data and go into developer options/mi unlock status, add account, receive a text and eventually was asked to wait for 360 days while they harvest my data lol.
I requested an unlock from motorola and they emailed it the next day!
Just 15 days to go....
Thanks

China or Global is the same, unlocking bootloader will have waiting time.
Locking it is easy, but unlocking it again also still need waiting time.

Can I assume that I would get L1 widevine support with the global rom?
Hello. If you got a china version and you unlock bootloader to install glogal rom, you cant lock again the bootloader. If you do you will get a brick.
Global version is not affected by this. You can unlock and lock it again has you pleased.
Widevine support is supported by hardware not software. As far as i know Mi9 as L1 support.

what is the process of unlocking the bootloader again?
Do I need to use that same unlock tool and wait for another 360 hours ?

For now there is no other solution!
Just wait 2 weeks
Ouch that's hard! I feel with you if you need to wait again.

Hi
I searched the forums up and down and looked at several options to restore my Chinese K20 pro from a hard brick. I have tried for several days now. Contacted the Russian guy, looked at the Xiaomi tool forum. etc
I have the phone open on and can see the Qualcomm 9008 in device manager already.
Please does someone have an authorised EDL account or method to fix this?
All other forums are old pre 2020 hence the reason for a new post.
Thanks in advance
KaBoom
I was in same situation, opened phone, did edl test point method, contacted various shady people ect ect yet no one replied.
I already had unlocked bootloader and never found out why phone randomly bricked, tried everything to unbrick so as a last resort I relocked bootloader and unlocked (miflash unlocked instantly no wait time, doubt I'll get that luck again) flashed fastboot rom and it booted. Just a suggestion for ya to try if you can't find someone with edl account.

People who can remotely EDL flash will charge for the service, last I saw it was up to $40. It is against XDA terms to promote paid for services, so we can not share information about who can EDL flash, if that person charges for doing so. Therefore people are sharing this information through PM's.
