Pay it off completely, then fight with the unlock department for a few weeks.

OEM Unlocking greyed out on phone: Can I root Anyway?

I purchased an [unlocked for GSM] A71 international model [SM-A715F] from Amazon. In instructions to root from "BK"s post I should go to developer settings "enable OEM unlocking" but the option is in the off position and greyed out so I can't do anything. Since it's sold as "unlocked" does that mean there's no bootloader to unlock? Can I root with phone as is? I'm a newbie and something doesn't add up.
I need to root this phone safely.
Any help is appreciated. Please Please:fingers-crossed:
Thank you
Tom
