Was reading the following article and wondered, is it possible to disable this function on USA devices without root? Maybe package disabler pro plus? ( I doubt it)

I am pretty sure these messages are routed through your provider rather than an underlying system app. I don't think you can disable them much like the amber alerts.

That would be good. I doubt it would happen, but it would be good if it did. I'd put AT&T behind me for a Google wireless carrier when my contract is up.
Take a look at this article

After reading the article I think it would be fantastic if google buys tmo.

Failure to comply with forum rules will result in an infraction and/or ban depending on severity of rule break.
I find it very amusing while shopping to ask sales representatives questions about phones that they really should know if they consider themselves 'knowledgeable sales representatives', of course I already know the answers but they dont. Easy things ranging from "which version of sense is this?" to"what does this thing have for a processor?". I guess I get a kick out of baffling people in thier own turf. Anybody else have a stupid niche like me lol?

Decided to make a thread were we as a community of android users and abusers can get the more "personal effect " here on xda ..this idea came from different threads I use to be part of were we can just sorta vent ,chat, discuss, and overall be familiar with each other
So I originally started on xda using a Samsung moment ..got my first taste and thirst of roms root hacks on the HTC evo moved on to the gs 2 and ended up here on the one side ..so far so good love the developers here as they all are uniquely diverse as roms and work goes and feel like surround by smart and above average users ..I myself em not that advance but very interested so ..there it goes
Also there no such thing as derailing the thread cuz it's pretty much OPEN SOURCE Haha

Although I applaude your desire to "get more personal," this thread breaks the rules for the General forums. Specifically this one:

15. Keep posts/threads on-topic
Whilst a minor amount of off-topic posting may be overlooked, the general rule is your posts / threads must be relevant to the Forum / thread in which you are posting. •General Forums - For news and announcements relating to your device.
•Q&A Help & Troubleshooting forums - For all question threads / posts. If there is no Q&A Help & Troubleshooting forum use the device General Forum
•Accessories subforum - For posts related to accessories relevant to the phone model
•Development Forums (ones with the word development in the title) - For developers to post release threads e.g. ROMs and Kernels including modifications to Kernels, Bootloaders, ROMs, etc.
•Themes and Apps Forums - For themers to post Themes and App. announcements & discussions including modifications made to Apps and Themes.

If there are speed improvements on the 1900Mhz band, then yes, we could take advantage of this. If these other frequencies being active takes a load off of 1900Mhz, then we could see some increases. However, we can't connect to the other frequencies, so any improvements on them won't directly effect us.
That being said, the bigger issue I think for sprint, is just getting LTE of any variety to more people.

Thing is, political discussion is strictly prohibited in XDA, even OT. Phones and devices aren't political, so XDA ain't political either.

Hi we have mobile traffic globally. Anyone would like to exchange? For promoting our own Android apps? Add me on Skype: Maggie-FE
XDA is not a place to "exchange" anything. Or for promoting products.
You're welcome to post free apps in our app section.... But without conditions.
