I have pretty poor reception in my area and WiFi calling takes care of that. However recently it refuses to stay on. As soon as I leave the settings after turning it ON, it switches OFF. It does the same thing in "Safe Mode". I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue? Thank you

Hi,
I'm struggling to get WiFi to switch off when the screen goes off in CM7.
I've checked the advanced WiFi settings and it is indeed set to switch off when the screen goes off but it does not seem to work.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
EDIT: OK, it does switch of after 15 minutes.
Thanks.
Is there a way to keep the Wi-Fi from turning itself on whenever the phone detects a connection point? I've got the phone set to not turn it on but it seems to not care how I have it set. I noticed twice yesterday and three times today it has turned itself on even though I had it off and told it not to. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix or Xposed module to get rid of this annoyance?
It won't... Unless you have some strange issue...turn itself on if you toggled it off.
If its on....it will always connect to "known" networks as soon as you're in range. Thats how its designed. ?

But it's not on. I only turn it on when I'm home. When I'm out I just use the network. I noticed I get the, "There are available networks" notification even though it's been set to off. I shouldn't be getting the notifications when it's off.

I've never heard of that. Lol
Did you put on some strange setting? 99.9 percent of the time, if its toggled off....its off.

It's strange and annoying because when I click on the notification it shows that Wi-Fi is on. I never turned it on. I did download the Snapdragon Battery Guru and I noticed there is an option in there that allows the Wi-Fi to turn itself on for no apparent reason. I honestly have to idea why anyone would want their Wi-Fi to turn on by itself is beyond me. At any rate I unchecked that box so hopefully it doesn't do it anymore.
Anyone having this issue with their S6? Mine keeps knocking itself off of my Wifi whenever the screen turns off, and consequently removes itself from Wifi calling. I already checked the Wifi sleep settings and even went into the service menu and turned off Wifi power save. Anyone have a fix? Can't text without wifi calling at home and I'm having to leave my screen on constantly so it doesn't turn off.
I've done that already, and it does it even plugged in.
This doesn't always happened but pretty much daily I will turn on my screen after being home for hours on my home wifi only to find out it has been on 4g lte the whole time. I have smart switch on so I don't know what else to do. Does anyone else have this problem? thanks

I think the problem IS smart switch. try turning it off. Another thing you could look at is in the advanced Wi-Fi settings, there is an option called "Keep Wi-fi on during sleep" Make sure that is set to 'Always'

I answered this from my tablet I thought but I guess it didn't take. I turned off smart switch and it seems to have helped but now I have to remember to switch it myself. This never happened with my s3 or s4. But thanks
Some times the device turns off and then turn off wifi automatically why does this happen ? I noticed it only happens when wifi gets slow but device should not automatically restart it ? Any fix ?
Yes, it is very annoying. I fixed it by installing this app and enable so that Wifi is always turned on when screen turns on. Works great as a workaround for Xiaomi bugs: Wifi Automatic
