Is anyone facing issue of slowness with calendar widget on home screen?
Device is slow when google calendar widget from work profile added to home screen. The pattern observed is after a day of use, device responds slower.
Tried with outlook calendar widget from work profile too, still device is slower after a day of use.
Did not face this issue in s9+ and it seems specific to note 9.
For now removed calendar widgets though its important for me. Is anyone else facing this?
Not here, I have my works Google calendar on the home screen and its all smooth. I have resized the widget to its max too.

I have exynos note 9 with ARH4 build. Is it same for you?
Did you keep the widget on default home screen or side pages? I tried by keeping it on default home screen page which made the device slow after a day of use. I can try putting it on another side page n see.

Thanks for your input.
I used widget on side pages of home screen for the last 16 hrs or so. So far so good no slowness as observed when the same widget is on main home screen page. Will update if it still be the same after a day passes.

Bad luck.
After a day passes, home screen page swapping became slower even with widget on other home page. I really wonder whats causing this slowness which weird (the same setup of apps, widgets works flawlessly on s9+)
Is there any AI learning captured in device causing cpu throttling or something else???

Im on the Exynos too. I have the widget on the 3 screen. No slowness across the phone in anyway.
I'm late to this party, but yes, seeing the same issue on my Verizon Galaxy S9.
Using the work profile's Google Calendar widget makes my launcher extremely slow and unresponsive.
Removing the calendar instantly clears up the issue.
Saw the issue on Samsung's launcher and Action Launcher
Probably due to the launcher! I could be wrong. But if your problem still exists. Try a other launcher like lawnchair or Hyperion .

Does anyone else have this problem with the clock on the lock screen after the 4.2.2 update? Every other power cycle, it looks really different. Also when rotated, it looks normal. Yes I know the normal look is hours in bold and minutes in regular font, but this is something completely different. Yes I searched xda and google and could only find people having issues with the bold font. FWIW, I used adb sideload to install the update. Video below.
I'm seeing the same thing on my Nexus 4. When I turn the screen on the time is offset to the right and the hours are not bold. If I cycle the screen off and on again its back to normal.

I am using Dash Clock now. Way better than the standard lock screen.
My lockscreen clock is behaving normal after 4.2.2 update

Interesting. I haven't updated my N4 to 4.2.2 but I see no issues with it in 4.2.1. The N7 did not have this issue on 4.2.1. either. Anyone else having this issue? Maybe I need to reflash the update?

I wouldn't mind using another widget on my lock screen, but since I am connected to my companys exchange server, I need to put in a password which effectively locks me into using the stock clock widget. I am looking for a fix to this issue as it is bugging the crap out of me.
So I did some more testing and found out the bug only occurs if I have my MS Exchange account linked. If I remove the account the bug disappears. I tried this with every screen lock option (minus face unlock).
MountainDrew, are you also using the Email App for MS Exchange?
Noticed this as well, but I use deskclock as my main widget, so it doesent really mater

Someone has already started a bug report on this issue. Seems as it is 4.2.2 specific and not just device specific.

I have been using HD Widgets lock-screen widget for a long time but Dash Clock has definitely better usage.
Though HD Widgets has a beautiful look and more customization options..
Just personal preference. I personally just really dislike the way HD Widgets and Beautiful Widgets look.
Sorry guys but this thread is not a discussion about different widgets. Another bug report on google code has this issue correlated to the lock screen widget set by device administrator policy. This means the lock screen widgets are frozen and not changeable so any alternatives are essentially useless.

So you're saying the replacing lock screen clock with DashClock isn't possible, and those of that did must be imagining it?

Did you read any of my posts or the bug report at all? It is clearly explained that lock screen widgets are frozen if you have device adminstrator policy set (usually by a MS Exchage Server if you want to access work email). If I remove my MS Exchange account, I can do whatever I want and this bug goes away.

No. It's a pretty silly bug. Considering how awful the stock lock screen clock is, I would consider it an improvement.

Again, I do not have the option to change my lock screen widget because I use MS Exchange for work. I'm stuck with the stock clock widget and this bug is annoying. I would honestly rather have the weather there instead, but again...I am stuck with the stock lock screen because of my work email. Silly bug or not, it needs to be fixed.

I have changing clock too. But if i enable lockscreen widgets again (app lockscreen policy) it is working fine. So im pretty sure its because of lockscreen policy (deactivated lockscreen widgets)

how do you get a transparent background on dash clock?
on my home screen it's a translucent black background, like the calendar. want it transparent like stock clock
Weird, in the home screen, when i move my an app right above the dock just right above it, it doesnt stay there but went straight down to the dock? anyone has this same issue? it was working fine on my s8+, tablet, both imported with the same save settings.
It happened to me once. In my case I had an e-mail widget that was taking up most of the page. Visually it looked like there should be enough space to put an icon above the dock, but it wasn't until I shrunk the widget that I was able to correctly add the icon. Hope this helps

I think you can go into Nova setting, under Desktop, either go to Advanced and turn on "Widget overlap" or under Desktop grid and check "Subgrid Positioning". I guess you can resize it too.
Hmm, im not using any widget, just a simple plain screen though. Tried Widget overlap, subgrid positioning was already enabled from previous settings and resizing, issue still remain.
I'm currently using Note 8 SM-N950W with nova launcher. After April update, wallpaper on the home screen won't rotate, i checked nova launcher's setting in "Look & feel" and set the screen to auto rotate, the icons and notification bar changed orientation but not the background image.
Is anyone having this issue?
Yeah, it looks to me like they are breaking feature to push users to the new phones that "officially support" them. Total Apple move. Try using KLWP with two images that will swap when orientation changes.

No joy, its persisting through other launchers as well (Apex, lawnchair, ect.) I'll do a reset, see if that helps and report back.
[EDIT]
Factory reset didn't work either.
works fine for me; make sure you have it enabled in your quick settings..
exact same problem

Mine is doing the same thing it happens in other launchers too i have done resets and even broke down and called tech support they couldn't figure it out either they kept thinking I was saying the rotate didnt work once I got it through that the screen rotated just fine they gave up.
My wallpaper rotates, just enabled it to test, as I really dont like it to rotate
Ever since the April Security Patch (the May Security Patch didn't fix it), I have also been unable to get the wallpaper on other launchers to rotate no matter what I do. I have sent two reports to Samsung via Samsung+ Feedback. One message was responded to and they basically forwarded my log data to their research team and the feedback rep is supposed to reply as soon as he gets info from the research team. The second message has yet to be responded to.
I got a reply saying "I would like to inform you that wallpaper and home screen will not rotate when the auto rotate is enabled, only the screen will rotate."
Whatever that means...

Sounds like they're saying that it's working as intended.
Yes, me too. Samsung Note 8 SM-N950F. Not sure if it's a Nova update or the fact that my phone updated to Oreo. Following...
So, I've been searching for a while, to see if anybody has found a solution. I can confirm, this has to be something that was disabled by Samsung, in Touchwiz or whatever the heck they rebranded the UI to. I use Nova Launcher, but switched back to the Samsung UI, just to toggle off the Portrait mode, but that doesn't make any difference for the Wallpaper rotating. This has to be one of the biggest "fail" updates that I've seen Samsung do. What makes even less sense to me is that, the Tab S4 that I just purchased, has no problem rotating the wallpaper. Did they think that people just wouldn't need it for phones, so they just disable it?
If anybody has found a solution (either via app or side-loaded apk), please update on this post.
I noticed this on my Note8, now on my Note9, as well as my relatives that have S8's and S8+'s. I seriously don't know why they disabled wallpaper rotation, if they started offering homescreen rotation. It literally makes no sense, especially since their newest tablet offering does it without issue.
Word is, from what I've read elsewhere, this was done by Google. Why? Who the H knows! Gotta be one of the friggin dumbest 'updates' I've ever seen from them. Bought a Note 9 and have tried every fricking setting and whatnot to get that stupid paper to rotate with no luck. Just stupid. Seriously, Google?!?
It has been many months, but after Pie update, I still have this problem.
Do they fired the guy and forget the problem? Or do they just dont care about the user.
Supposed his Highness Alfabet, decided in ours poor favour.
And a rotating wallpaper is totally disturbing.
Unnecessary.
Why an user may need to choose????
If someone ask, tell him: Intended and bye.
I will eat one more cookie arround and get back to work...
My wallpaper on my Note 8 never rotated when I disabled portate mode on my device...... I think this feature may only be available on tablets rather than mobile devices.
As seen here, this is the most annoying bug on the phone now...

This is for people on One UI 3.1 using third party launchers. You might come across a bug where:
1.The launcher keeps stopping/force closing or
2. Exiting an app causes the screen to flash and does nothing if you touch the screen immediately after.
Any fixes or workarounds?
I've had this issue with Nova Launcher and my S21 Ultra. Haven't found a permanent fix for it as yet.

I believe we (AUS) owners are one firmware release behind (I'm on AUA4 with a build date of early Jan where the latest is AUAC with a build date later in Jan) so perhaps it's been fixed in the latest release?
If I use the Samsung gestures (swipe up from the bottom), Fluid Navigation gestures doesn't actually prevent those gestures from working for some reason (even after running the ADB command needed)

Yes these bugs are unacceptable
I have this issue as well where swiping up to go home causes the screen to flash and become unresponsive for a second or so. It only happens with gesture navigation and a 3rd party launcher.
I'm on the update release January the 1st. Is there a chance this is fixed in an update already available in part of the world?
Never mind I already have AUAC. that does not fix it. We may need to report this bug to Samsung. Has anyone done that? Chances are a fix is coming since they did fix the rest of the issues that were on earlier oneui versions for gestures in 3rd party launchers.
Did anyone confirm this happens in all 3rd party launchers and not just Nova?

Are you using gesture navigation? AFAIK it only affects the home gesture. Use Nova, launch an app. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to go home and immediately after, try tapping an icon on the launcher screen to launch another app. You notice no unresponsive issue here?

I'm on UAC since yesterday evening but this issue only happened when I first got the phone on Monday. I went into Nova settings and set it as default launcher. Since then no issues at all.
I Infact replicated the steps you just mentioned and was not able to reproduce the issue. Using the Samsung swipe up navigation gestures for clarification

That's interesting. Exynos version? I wonder what causes some of us (most?) to experience it but not you. I've set Nova as default in the system settings, not in Nova, but that should produce the same effect. Did you do anything else between the non working and the working state?
By Samsung swipe up, do you mean swipe up from the bottom in 3 different places rather than swiping screen left and right edges to go back? I use the version where you swipe left and right edges for back. Is that it perhaps?

Yes exynos. India variant. And yes for your last question too. I prefer the swipe up gestures because using the side swipe with a case I couldn't get it to work reliably.
I'm sorry I couldn't find the setting for this in the settings menu so when I first experienced this issue I simply set nova as default through its own settings.
Also I had used smartswitch cable transfer to migrate all data apps and settings over from the S20+

Oh I saw just now that this is already stated in the top post. I couldn't see the quoted area on my mobile, now I see it. The bug is only present with google gestures and there's a hint on how to bypass the problem with one hand +, I'll try that now.

Thanks for this thread, this was driving me crazy, i tried Action Launcher, Niagra, Smart Launcher and they all have the stutter when you return to then home screen when using android 11 gestures. Samsung gestures fixes but my muscle memory is to swipe from the sides for back so i'm struggling with it. Currently back to the One UI launcher to be able to use android gestures seamlessly. Hoping for a fix to this in future updates to OneUI but doubtful!

Use one handed operations+ from play/galaxy store. I hated android 11 swipe from left to go back, because I'm used to open menu in many apps from the left side and now it was going back, with oho+ i have swipe back from right and normal left side without any commands, also that app is OP so you can customise it even more

I have a different issue wherein even tough I have set Nova as the default launcher, after a reboot, One UI launcher is set as default again. This doesn't happen all the time though but just random.
Is anyone experiencing an issue where the default home launcher reverts to One Ui for no reason?
