Hello,
Recently my Wiko UFeel (using Marshmallow Android) restarted automatically and won't pass from the UFeel logo image. I know I problaby have to do a factory reset, however I need to backup some files to my computer, both from the phone and the SD Card which, unfortunately, is mounted as internal storage, meaning I can't plug it to a card reader or any other Wiko device to copy the files. What I'd like to know, please, is:
1) If I execute the factory reset with the SD card in my device, will the data also be erased or just the data from the internal storage (or both) ?
2) If I execute the factory reset without the SD card in my device, will I be able to use it as is after the phone is reset or will I need to format it ?
3) Is there any way for me to plug the phone to a computer so I can backup the files ?
4) Is there any way I can backup the SD card through some other means ? I tried ADB but it doesn't recognize my device.
Thank you very much

Factory reset will not wipe the external sdcard.
Yes, you should be able to use the sdcard with no issues after the factory reset.
No, there's probably no way to backup the data that is on internal.

I have a question. Maybe a noob one. But I'll appreciate the help. If I do a factory reset and wipe system, cache and data will I loose the files that are in the phone usb storage? Thanks

Ive found the only way to loose the stuff in internal sd card storage, where you can put your files is when you format usb storage, in sd card menu... Also i think odin repartition does it, but not sure about the second one.
If your worried about loosing it why not just comy it to your computer, do what you need to then copy it back
Hi
I have an International Galaxy Note (N7000). It had problems with sim card (the SIM socket lost contact with the pcb), so I started to use it as a media player and wifi functions. Yesterday it stopped on the boot screen (with the model number), so I tried to load a backup using recovery. Surprisingly, I got a sdcard mount error. Tried to read the sdcard in PC, but Windows says that the card must be formatted and recognize as a 1GB card (it's a 32GB card). If I try to format as 1GB Windows says that was not possible complete the process.
After all, I tried to turn on the phone via recovery and wipe data via recovery and.... the same error on internal memory. I was running Samsung's official 4.1.2 ROM. Anyone had this problem?
Odp: [Q] Internal emmc and external SD destroyed
Mount the two cards to the computer and try to recover them using EASUS Partition Manager.
Stellar phoenix is another one..used this & I was able to recover the same folder tree (just that main folder names will be different, but sub-folder names will be the same what you had given) :good:
Hi
I am having an issue where when I am transferring files from my PC to the phone via USB, it disconnects after a random amount of time. Then in system settings/storage both the internal and external sd cards are not showing and phone runs noticeably slow. After reboot the sd cards show again.
This is how I installed the Mod.
1. Backed up all my app date via Titanium & copied all personal items off sd cards onto PC
2. Reset phone & formatted USB storage.
3. Via Odin, installed 2.3.6 stock, restarted.
4. Via Odin, rooted with CWM.
At this point, this is where my phone was before, only clean.
5. Booted into recovery and wiped data, factory reset & wiped cache.
6. Installed Cayanogen (cm-10.1-20130507-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd.zip) via recovery.
7. Installed Google apps (gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip) via recovery.
8. Reboot x 2.
Now phone is working fine. Time to transfer files to SD card
9. Connected via USB and started to copy files from PC to External Sd card.
10. Transfer starts successfully but stops after an undetermined amount of time (Have attempted multiple)
11. A Message appears on my computer that "The path XXX is no longer available, retry? cancel?"
Now when I "Unmount USB Storage" from the phone and go into System Setting/Storage, both the Internal & External cards are not showing. Also, the file explorer will not show any data when opened, it keeps searching. A reboot brings back the SD cards, but doing a file transfer from the PC starts this all over again.
I heard this could be a issue with EMMC & external_sd? So I mounted SD card 1 (External) to the "external_sd" folder via "ISC SD Binder" to no avail.
Please help, apart from this I really like this ROM! I don't want to have to go back to stock...
No one?
Hi there, have u problems in formating your SD card (Phone)?? It will erase all msgs photos images apps etc but you will have a fresh rom installed. You can backup ur photos and stuff to the pc or external card though. Just go Settings / Backup & Reset / factory data reset enable Erase SD card and Reset phone

I have a fresh rom installed. Not personal data.
The issue I am having is that the phone is loosing the USB connection when transferring file while on CM 10.1. Then the Internal and External SD card do not show up in system storage.
No issues whatsoever with 2.3.6 stock (Rooted)

Yea I did that.
What's happening is when the phone disconnects randomly during file transfers, the phone thinks the USB and SD storage is still mounted in the computer.
Only rebooting the phone will unmount them.
No problem transferring to the USB storage, only the SD.
I have given up on this issue. I like the ROM so I just remove the SD card and insert it in my laptop when I want to transfer files. Which thankfully, isn't that often.
Still... Would be nice to not have to.

Thanks, will try that.
But usually its quicker to transfer via direct connection or cable than wireless, even if I have to un-mount the SD card.
Okay I don't know how I fixed it but I just transferred about 7gb of MP3s to my device using wmp12.
The only thing that has changed is that recently installed super nexus milestone 1.
Happy chappy!
Hi,
I'm unable to access some apps moved to my external SD. I think the card is corrupt, what will happen if i format it? will i loose my app data that i moved? will i loose my saved game states? please note that i'm unable to write files to external SD even via a USB - PC connection! but i can read data ( watch videos ) on external SD, no write protect in the card. Tried reboot, dust the card and put back in.
Also uninstalling apps installed on phone memory doesn't clear space, i'm running out of space on my phone memory too :|
And if i do factory reset, does the firmware also get reset to stock ROM? Please help!
No root, stock room.

before you format the sd card make sure you have ticked the keep backup of this device option in backup settings. This is save all your app data on google servers and when you reinstall the same app the data will be retained.
factory reset will delete all the apps that you have installed and will make your phone as fresh as new. you will not loose any ota firmware updates of rom.
welp I may be screwed, but thought I would ask the pros.
I always back up my sdcard personal files, but the media files (music I don't). I have a 128GB card and I am trying to save myself some rebuild time.
I encrypted my external 128gb sd card in android (I have my data backed up thank goodness), but I have full wiped the phone, to install a new rom (full wipe and factory reset).
I have rest the screen password to the same encrypted password, yet when I reboot the phone (installed new rom from separate external sd card since TWRP wont write from an encrypted sd card), the phone is fine, but the card is still being shown as "checking sdcard for errors"
is there any way to restore access to the encrypted card since I full wiped? I know that I can just reformat the card back to fat32, but I really don't want to sit and transfer 100gb of flac files again.
