I've looked in all the threads opened with vibration problems but haven't found my issue.
Which is : the vibration intensity raises with each press ( I think it has 3 vibration intensity ) To be more precise if , for example, I press the back button once I get a low intensity vibration, but if I pressed it quickly for 3,4,5,6 times I can hear how the vibrator increases the intensity and stays that way. So the intensity is not the same if I press the same button once or more times.
Has someone this behavior on their phones? Maybe is normal, but in my old S2 the vibration was constant form the beginning. Thanks!
L.E. : At least answer me please if your phone's vibration is ok, just test it by pressing the back button once, and then press it again for about 6 times repeatedly if you have haptic feedbak enabled
Happens on my phone too. Might be that the vibration engine needs to be more precisely controlled (could be done with software, maybe).
I also have this issue which I find rather annoying when pressing the back button quickly.

It's completely normal. The vibration is sort of a spinning disc and it needs about half a second to spin up to high speed. When you trigger short vibrations repeatedly it doesn't stop completely between each tap and the vibration feels stronger.

Thank you, this now makes sense.

The same here!
It's normal!
It is normal for Xperia Z maybe, but I haven't seen a phone that does same (Xperia U,J, Samsung S2,S3,Note2, HTC Sensation, Iphone 4,5, S3 Mini, even Allview etc.) , feels like a cheap phone vibration in my opinion. If I type on my keyboard, and I type really quick, the phone is continuous vibrating, that sucks in my opinion, where is the haptic feedback in this?
P.S. thank you all for answering, I thought that my phone had a hardware problem.
Try changing the vibration intensity in the keyboard settings, worked for me

Thread revival. I am experiencing the exact same thing on my Z Ultra. It feels really awkward to my Note 2. Not sure if it really is 'normal', just bad implementation.
It is normal. I ve tested it on several Sony Z . I ve even changed the vibrator in one of them and it is the same thing. That is how the module works.

i wanted to say this but you did it before i do:laugh:
This is 100% true
I discoverd this when i Smashed a ps2 controller
After fixing the vibration problem now I this issue appears
Can it be fixed by replacing the vibration motor?
Does anyone else have trouble feeling the vibration for a notification. If driving I never feel the vibration. The only time I really feel it is I am doing nothing, no move of the arm and then I feel a small tingle. I do have the vibration setting on strong and have all audio disabled as I am hard of hearing and wouldn't hear them, only annoy other people.
We need an app that lets us set vibration patterns, allowing for a longer vibration instead of the two short pulses.
Agreed, my Pebble vibration is much stronger. Sometimes I don't even feel it on the Gear
Hi, does anyone know how to turn down the intensity of the HTC One's vibration on notifications?
When I have it on a desk, and I receive a WhatsApp message, it vibrates really loudly (even when it's not on a desk, the vibration is loud enough that people near me can hear)
Any help appreciated!
Hi,
I've bought new Sony Xperia Z1 a few days ago and overall it's a great device, but there is one issue, which is very annoying for me.
The vibration motor is very loud, but at the same time vibrations are just weak, so that when the ringtone is set on the lowest level, the motor is louder than this ringtone and when I keep the phone in my pocket I can hardly feel anything when it's vibrating.
In the keyboard I've set the shortest possible vibrating time, but it still makes more sound than vibrations.
The pitch of the sound is increasing with the duration of the motor working: eg. when I push home button for one time, the sound is quite low (but still loud), but when I press a few times in a row the sound gets higher and even more irritating.
Is it normal behavior for this smartphone? It's very annoying, because vibration should be discrete way to notify me about incoming calls or text messages. The fact that it is louder than a normal ringtone makes it useless.
Is it possible to fix it via software or is it a hardware issue and I should send the phone to the repair center (i'm afraid to do it, because they've destroyed my phone in the past).
I have the same problem, sometimes it works, but mostly it is making a scratching sound.
I've turned off the vibration when pressing the screen/keyboard, makes too much noise.
It is probably a hardware issue, i want to fix it by myself, because i don't trust the repair centers.

vibration very weak here: if in pocket or on any surface I can hardly feel it
I found a way to reduce vibration on haptic feedback. The xposed module Vibration Tuner lets me change the vibration strength.
Still, the problem is not gone. Every few clicks on haptic feedback, there is a noise coming up when it vibrates. I have had that on two different s5 minis now.
Is that normal for the s5 mini? A rattling noise coming with vibration?

For me thats a common problem, I experiened this with many phones. My s5 mini is now 1.5 years old and the vibration is sometimes very weak, the other times it rattels and sometimes it does not vibrate at all...
