Hello, folks.
I have a problem that after a few minutes with the screen turned off Android will kill the background of apps like Castbox or Youtube Vanced. If the background is active and I need other apps, it works fine. Only after a few minutes with a black screen, it is aborted and the app gets closed. The music app works.
Could it have something to do with the Ram-Management (using stock-values)?
If I deactivate Doze for the problematic apps, the problem persists even if I uninstall all doze apps.
Logs from youtube are attached if someone can read them.
Currently, I am using OOS 5.0.5, but I already had the problem with DU (Oreo 8.1).
Latest Magisk installed, no xposed or things like that

How is it possible to turn LMK off? I can only disable adaptive low memory killer
Press the Recent Apps hardbutton and then press the lock icon on the top right of the app. It should remain active in RAM

Hi all,
I've update my M7 from ARHD 9.0 to 9.2 yesterday.. and noted that my power-toggles app was uninstalled.
From notifications, there's a new power dashboard installed.
Anyone know how to remove/disable this? I've tried to find the app 'running' from Apps via Settings. Also held the power-dashboard app via Notifications for some secs to hope it'll point to the App-Info.
Pls. see attached image of the power dashboard.
Thanks!
You'll need to reinstall the rom and keep Settings Extended as your EQS rather than the native EQS. Native EQS is unchecked by default though...

Just go to the apps section in settings and kill all running apps, see if that will help.

Yes there are in the playstore. But I would not recommend kill the apps or processes as they will harm the phone and ruin it's performance. I suggest just looking for the app that is causing the drain and delete it.

it's a background process initiated by google update service..
I have the same problem here since Google installed the Play Services update behind my back. I disabled the CacheUpdateService Service via System Tuner Pro abd prevented all wakelocks from the package via Per App Hacking. See if it works. Phone is now turned on for ten hours with 9 1/2 not in deep sleep due to the great Google update... Damn.

I'm confused by this setting. It appears whenever I install a new app or update existing ones.
(1) what does it do?
(2) when is it disabled? Slider to the left on right?
(3) where else in the settings can you find this?
Anyone? It's really bugging me!
Ive only seen it in permission settings on custom roms or the app ops app. Should be slider to left to turn off auto run. Are you using custom rom or have permission manager installed?

I'm still pure stock, SM-N9200. Only modification I've done is disable a bunch of stuff using Package Disabler Pro!
This is a marshmallow feature that's already been incorporated in the note 5... It gives you full control on all app permissions and the ability to prevent auto start at boot or on syncing... For example, if you don't want Facebook to keep syncing whenever you switch the WiFi on and want it to update/ sync only when you open the app... You can do it now

Hi all.
I am sure this question has been asked again and again.
But I am having troubles with push notifications working for some apps
I.e. Pushbullet, kaokaotalk
They don't work unless i open the app.
WhatsApp and Facebook seem to be working fine.
Anyone have an absolute fix?

Even gmail and Google inbox don't work.
They have been setup as protected apps etc already

Try adding them to the memory whitelist.
Phone manager>system optimization (paintbrush)>settings (gear top right)>memory cleanup whitelist
My understanding is apps in this list will not clear the memory when you "kill" the app. I could be wrong. Please respond to this post if this fixes your problem or not.
Two important settings, under Battery (protected) and under "Apps" (ignore optimization). Also try to put CPU to performance

Solve -> Problem with Pushover notification on lockscreen
my notification did not show on notification and lock screen.
1. Phone manager>system optimization (paintbrush)>settings (gear top right)>memory cleanup whitelist
2. Setting>advanced settings>Battery manager>Power plan> Smart or Performance>
3. Setting>advanced settings>Battery manager>Protected apps> Turn on for Whatsapp and Pushover
4. Clean Master < I think this is the culprit causing problem > Ensure Tools>Notification Cleaner is disable. My was enabled. and it cause notification not to show on the Lock Screen.

I have a note 8, but emui 4.1 is pretty standard across the line. Having the exact same issue. Have tried the PNF, whitelisted google play and whatsapp in the memory whitelist, protected apps, ignore battery optimizations etc.
I can repeat the error. So it seems that it ignores the whitelist like you suspected.
Steps. Clear all apps.
Open quicksync manually sync accounts that i want to show up.
Notifications appear.
Go to app task manager view with the square button, kill app.
Send message. No dice.
Have even tried using the PNF heartbeat fix, but to no effect.
Now i have one odd issue. When i received the device, google play services was already installed, but some how it was in the system folder despite the phone being locked. Not sure if that is an issue, since if anything i would suspect that would be helpful instead of harmful, but i have no way of removing it to test since bootloader is locked , and the play services is persistent over a factory reset.
Anyways, any other solutions i have not thought of would be helpful, huawei makes such nice devices, but if you get stuck on a chinese rom, it can be a nightmare for some.. went through the same headache with mate 7 but managed to solve its notifications issues.

Yes I have tried that. For now I think i will just add my chat clients and aquamail to the locked status on the task manager and keep them open... I have tried all iterations of power saving, etc.. so I think it may just be the build unfortuneately. Hopefully EMUI 5.0 will be a bit less invasive, as they said they are going back to a more stock android vibe to compete in international markets.
Hello, I am in the exact same situation. Did you get some luck?
I updated mine to emui5, but nothing changed.
Do you have a AL10 chinese version? I am thinking that this might be the point.
Thank you.
Hi, my P20 Pro had EMUI 9.1.
Even before the update, apps stopes running in the background and not starting at start-up.
I.e. Automate, Shpock, etc and after the 9.1 update Nova Google Companion stopped running as well.
I’ve tried Manu > Battery > App launch and changed these apps to manage manually, but no luck.
Any help /advise will be highly appreciated.

I did select all 3 option, however it still doesn't auto start and doesn't run at the background.

The only thing I can think of is maybe an option in the app itself to start on boot. Otherwise try to reinstall the app and before running it the first time, set those options.

Check for ignore optimizations in the search bar in the settings app.
Then, find your app and click allow. This will prevent it from getting killed in the background since doze in EMUI is hard coded (i think) inside the os
