Hi there, I cannot find simmilar thread so I need to post it.
Do you also have problems with notifications?
Like when I use whatsapp and switch to Youtube, sometimes if I dont open whats manualky, I will not receive notification even if i received msg 5 seconds after swithing to yt.
Same goes for Viber, fb messenger, gmail and so on.
Also when I lock the phone, same thing is happening.
Data saver is off, those apps are in unmonitored mode in battery settings. Deleting data, cash, also done.

How can I tell which application is actually creating notifications from facebook?
In the official facebook app's settings, I've turned off notifications, but I still get them. I also have bloo, and a few other facebook apps installed, but as far as I can tell, none of them are running when I get the notifications.
As they come in fairly often, it can get annoying with the constant buzzing and/or bleeping.
(On a related note: going to the item in the menubar dropdown takes me to the official app, to the notifications page... Which I then close. And then, without any actual new notifications coming in, it alerts me again shortly thereafter. Annoying. Halp!)
After the latest 8.2 update, my Facebook messenger keeps deactivating chat heads over apps, every other day.
I can turn it on, and it works for 1-2 days, and then it happened again..
Any solutions for a permanent fix?
One option might be moving messenger over and making it a system app. Usually the fix is enabling "Display Pop Up Window" in the permissions for Messenger.
It's already enabled in messenger, but it keeps removing it every other day? :/

There's a difference between turning on chat heads in messenger and enabling the permission. Are you currently only turning it on in Messenger?
When I turn it on in messenger it takes me to the permissions, where I enable it. After 1-2 days it automatically disable itself.
It actually does the same with Google calender permission. Really annoying, I don't know a permanent fix for it.
Found it.
Just go to security( Its a system app) --permission--other permission-- messenger-- Accept on display pop up window ??
Hey all, I hope somebody can help me out with this. I've noticed this problem with multiple apps but I will continue my description with Whatsapp as it's the most important to me.
It seems to be random, but some (becoming most) times I don't receive any notifications from whatsapp. When i open the app, i can see the app "updating" and receiving all the messages that were sent to me since the previous launch.
I have gone to the battery management and turned whatsapp to manual mode with all 3 options enabled (auto launch, secondary app launch and background usage)
I've also turned on unlimited data restrictions for the app.
I'm still facing the same issue. Anybody else out there facing the same thing with whatsapp or any other app? Any ideas how to fix this?
Same problem messaged Huawei and got a real crap guide on how to fix it . There "fix" was to hard reset the phone which we all know a new phone should work out of the box what good is a hard reset going to do apart from wipe the phone
It could be a network issue. Sometimes when am on wifi every notification comes on time(tested it with my second phone). When i switch on 4g , notification can have a considerable delay. And not only watsapp. Instagram facebook gmail you name it.

Have you try to put out whatsapp from battery optimization apps...
Settings, Apps, Apps, press 4 dots upper right corner, special access (or something like that), exclude whatsapp or any other app from battery optimization
My notfications are working, but sometimes it doesn't play the notification sound for whatsapp. It seems to be random, does anybody know how to fix this?
I have an Honor Play (COR-L29), and pretty much since day one I've had an issue with delayed push notifications for almost every app from which I receive push notifications. For example, someone will send an email to my Gmail account, but while my screen is off, I will not be notified. The moment I wake the screen, the notification will come through. It's running the latest firmware. In Apps>Special Access>Battery Optimisation I have set ALL apps to NOT ALLOWED, and in Battery>App Launch I have set ALL aps to MANUAL, but this has made no difference. I have also used the Wipe Cache Partition feature several times, and again this makes no difference. I love the phone, but simply can't cope with the notification issue. Does anyone have a solution?

Which one battery settings you used, it's normal mode or power saving mode? If you used power saving mode it will be turn off all your background notification, such as gmail.
And go to settings -> battery -> more battery settings -> check stay connected when device sleeps.
Hope it will help
I have been experiencing delayed notifications on my Note 9, mainly with Facebook Messenger, but it applies also to the Line messenger app and Outlook, so it's not confined to one app. It's probably just that I use Messenger often, so notice it more with Messenger
The symptoms are a random and sometimes very long delay between sending a message and receiving a notification, measured in minutes to hours. Sometimes, I'll receive a bunch of notifications from multiple apps when opening the screen.
Other times, even opening the screen does not cause me to receive notifications. I can be actively using the phone and there will still be a random delay on notifications.
For example, I was using my phone earlier to web browse and my girlfriend sent me a message. I did not get a notification. After 30 minutes, she called and asked me why I was not reading her message. Opening the messenger app, I saw the message there (as well as the time at which it was sent) and about one minute later the notification came in.
Similarly, I can be using the phone and someone will video call me on Messenger. I don't get a notification until I actually open the app (I know this since my other phone that has the Messenger app installed on it rings, so I know I have an incoming call).
I can test notification delay by using one account from a computer to send a message to the account linked to my phone, so I know exactly when the message was sent. But the notification delay, even while using the phone actively, is still present and measured in minutes to hours, whereas the other phone receives the notification immediately.
It is NOT doze mode at fault. I have explicitly disabled ALL battery optimizations as well as turning off doze mode with ADB at boot time.
It's not bluetooth, even though some users in other threads have pointed to bluetooth being at fault.
I have cleared cache, uninstalled all updates for Google Play Services and Google Play and reinstalled them.
The phone itself seems capable of receiving push notifications correctly. I can use the push notification tester app to setup a high priority notification for, let's say 10 minutes from now. Then I shut the screen. After 5 minutes, I send a message to my phone with Facebook Messenger. No notification is received for this message.
After 10 minutes, the Push Notification Tester app triggers its notification correctly, which is received immediately. And then shortly afterwards, the notification comes in from Facebook Messenger.
Clearing cache and data on Messenger doesn't make any difference, and as I said in the first paragraph, it does not appear to be the app, since other apps are affected.
This is driving me crazy. I miss out on messages and important emails.
Is anyone aware of any solution to this problem? I just see a whole bunch of snake oil remedies on the net, but no real solution.
It appears to be something that might be related to notification priority, judging by the behaviour of the Push Notification Tester app, but this is just speculation on my part
