Questions about Anti roleback - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Hi there
I've read I couple of thread regarding the ARB(Anti roleback) from Xiaomi on our devices (MI8, Dipper)
and I have some questions:
Now I am wondering how and when this will be triggered?
What can/could/can't I do source it's triggered?
Can I flash an Android 9 ROM and revert back to an Android 8.1 ROM?
If the ARB only relevant for Stock MIUI ROMS or also for Custom ROMS?
(More personal)
I am currently using Xiaomi.eu rom 8.8.30 MIUI 10 (Based on android 8.1),
I would like to flash the Andoid 9 variant, but I am scared of bugs and I want to know if I can revert once I flashed Android 9 or not?

Miui 9 Based On Nougat At Least For Redmi 2/Prime

Greetings To The Entire Xda Developers Family, I'm Not Certain If This Has Been Discussed Before. But, I Was Just Curious. If There Have Been Attempts At Creating A Miui 9 Rom For The Redmi 2/Prime Based On Nougat. And If Not I Kindly Ask, Could We Please Have An Attempt At One. Because I Feel Personally Our Device Just Won't Perform With Oreo(Owing To My Personal Experience With The Custom Oreo Roms I've Tried, With No Disrespect To Any Of Our Beloved Developers)
Redmi 2 (all variant) will be not getting MIUI (Android Nougat) ROMs, even the MIUI version for Redmi 2 stopped development on MIUI 9 (Android Lollipop).

Help me with antirollback issue with CC9 (pyxis)

My CC9 is currently on Stock MIUI 12.0.2.0 stable (QFCCNXM)
Android version: 10
I checked ARB via fastboot commant and got "anti:1"
My question is .... "is there any way to flash Android 10 based EU custom rom running MIUI 11.0.3.0 ?"
That means I want to downgrade from stock miui 12 (Android 10) to custom miui 11 (based on Android 10) or custom miui 11 (based on Android 9)
via TWRP.
Is this will cause hard brick?
Please, someone clear this confusion...

Thanks for the response. I know how ARB works in switching official miui.
We can check the antiroll back index from fastboot rom image (from bat file) but since I want to move from an official miui12 to a custom xiaomi.eu miui11 so how can I check that xiaomi.eu rom's ARB index? because custom roms are recovery rom to to be flashed from within twrp. Is there a way to check ARB index of an recovery rom?
This is where I got confused that switching from official miui to a custom miui will still get affected by ARB or not...
