[Clean-ROM-Inheritance-Xenogenesis] by sbdags
TF701T USERS: YOU MUST BE UNLOCKED, ON THE ASUS STOCK KK 4.4.2 BOOTLOADER VERSION 11.4.1.29 OR 11.4.1.30 AND HAVE A WORKING RECOVERY - TWRP 2.8.x.x BEFORE FLASHING THIS ROM.
I recommend you do a full wipe if coming from another ROM source (CM11 , etc). Choose Wipe in TWRP and Factory Wipe. If you UNLOCK it will also force you to WIPE. You can upgrade (dirty flash) over Asus Stock, CROMi-X 6.x or CROMi-X 7.x but please WIPE if you have any issues.
You can restore data from Titanium Backups but please do not restore system data or apps from a previous version or another ROM if you want a nice clean smooth upgrade experience.
If you are coming from another source like Cyanogenmod or AOSP then you must wipe first. No excuses.
Please Unlock using the Asus Unlock Tool first found here.
Note installing and running this app will wipe your device and void your warranty.
Finally copy the ROM to a folder on your internal SD and flash it from Recovery, and reboot
Don't forget to do a Nandroid Backup first and give the ROM 5 mins to stabilise!

How to Flash
Make sure you have prepared by copying the ROM zip file to your internal SD card or external micro SD card first.
- You can flash TWRP using the instructions here.
- Use the bootloader and TWRP upgrade zips below if you are already running a custom rom and recovery - just flash from recovery then install CROMi-X
Fastboot boot images and flashable zips including the latest bootloader post
- Boot to the BootLoader screen by holding down volume down and power together whilst booting.
- Start the recovery by making sure the RCK icon is highlighted (use volume down to move) and push volume up to select.
- In recovery choose INSTALL - select the rom.zip from /sdcard or microsd card by using the SELECT STORAGE button
- The AROMA installer will start - choose the options you want
- Finally reboot when finished.

Stay with stock the others are a bit small as they were designed for a 1280x800 screen. When I tried to resize them they corrupt for some reason. You can easily switch back to another by just reinstalling the rom.

This ROM is smooth and fast, thank you for another great piece of work from, Sbdags.
However, the battery status seems not reporting it is charging when I plug in to the wall jack. I had xposed and gravity box installed, so I uninstalled both of them, but it is the same. But my tablet gets charged just fine.
Any one encountered the same problem?

Thank you sdbags for the greate work. I really like that the blue is gone and all the performance tweaks too.
Unfortunately, the same problem is here with the usb port as after applying a fixer on stock. When there are a few files on the usb drive (videos, documents etc) the pad starts reading them and at some point it cannot read the rest of them no matter what. Trying to open them gives
read failed: EIO (I/O error)
java.io.IOException
The drive's ok as I can read all files on stock or PC.
By the way I tried manualy correcting permissions.xml on stock to let the system rw the usb and it gave me the same issue.

if you choose another RES the DPI is overwritten. Sorry but standard DPI changing goes out of the window once you start messing with the res

i encounter a serious problem with the new release when passwords are asked. the easiest way to reproduce is with a new wlan connection.
when you enter the password hidden there is a wrong keyboard layout, for example a ! (shift+1) will produce a +.
i tried dirty flash first, the wiped and flashed again, still the same.
with the dirty flash if you activated the 'show password' option everything went well, after the wipe (at the initial setup screen) even this didn't help.
another thing (already with the old release too): in firefox the pages are always displayed a little larger than the screen. any idea why this is so?

Hi Andy,
1. This is an issue with the dock I'm guessing? This is the way Asus designed it as they want you to use their soft keyboard which sets the layout of the dock. If you use another soft keyboard then the dock reverts to US layout. The fix is to use the keyboard manger I included with the rom and make sure to set asus keyboard when docked.
If that wasn't your issue I have no idea!
2. Ask firefox please. Chrome, dolphin, and the stock browser all render pages fine. Or send me a link to check. If you lowered the res or dpi then it could be that causing your issue but I don't use firefox so do their support for them.

Thank You for your amazing work. The rom is really good. I'm keeping it. Here are some bugs I found and I hope you could fix it soon with a patch or a flashable zip.
- Bixby vision causes camera app to crash
- Strange problem with the screen scale (start-up animation and app drawer)
- NFC in the settings causes the settings app to crash.

Bugs

Installation Steps
● Make sure you have T.W.R.P installed.
● Make sure your phone is fully charged to 100%.
● Download the rom using download manager like (IDM,ADM for android)
● Copy rom zip to your ExtSD.
● Open T.W.R.P and perfrom these wipes (Internal memory,system,data,dalvik,cache)
● Flash the rom.
● In aroma select full wipe too.
● Do the aroma setup.
● Let the rom boot.
● Once rom boots leave it to settle for 5-10 min
● If you selected magisk in aroma you will need to do 2 reboots.
● Do the setup and download your apps.
● I highly recommend not to restore apps via T.B or any backup app. download them from store.
● Update all system apps from google and Samsung stores.
● Enjoy the rom.

Okay ... I just installed it on an A710M
First N0tAvailable unlocks me on the Telegram
And now I can talk a little ... The ROM is super fluid, it may be the most fluid ROM of the A7 2016
And I did not find bugs, everything works very well
The only problem is that the Blue Light Filter does not work, you activate it and nothing happens.
Other than this, everything is perfect.

EDIT: now I found Bugs, WhatsApp and Telegram do not work to listen to audios or record audio, YouTube does not play any video
Tested on J700H it is great slim and fast smooth af but there are some issue i encountered
- Blue light filter not working (not a big deal)
-Offline Charging
but overall this ROM is great thanks for this :laugh:

I flash on A7 and that perfectly work.
Use for daily use.
Feature of this rom
1. Battery backup is full stable.
2. Performance is boost.
3. And the ui is perfect.
4. Best networks speed experience.
5. Highly compressed it's use only 900mb in system .

you mean the lights of the buttons, right?
This was disabled in the A8 2018 firmware. will try to enable it again in upcoming updates.

Why did you remove a310 support
Rom is nice, smooth and great Performance.

Hi Devs! Thank you very much for keeping my device alive! You are the only ones that continue stock-like development for A-series.
I have just installed your ROM on my SM-A510F, everything is working fine. Already rooted with latest Magisk Canary - all good! I have to say that this ROM is perfectly debloated. I have turned off chrome (it's creating many different issues while using YTV) and set Android WebView as default webview implementation.
There are 3 things I'd like to ask/suggest:
First thing is adding file manager to the installer (if it's possible - mixplorer), it's hard to restore stuff without it.
Second thing is to restore buttons light (I saw that it's already discussed)
Third is to enable native call recording, I'll try to do it myself but is the cscfeature.xml coded somehow?
As in your description, I had one random reboot and also have the red warning during boot that "KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING" but it is not a problem for me. In system info it's showing "enforcing" is it just a fake? And is it possible to change it to "permissive"? It gives a lot of possibilities to change things
I have noticed that there are many samsung apps available in Playstore - that's good if someone would like to have something more than the base (I think that they have to be unlocked somehow because I can't remember having them before).

The reason is that I don't think you should force Native Blur for such an old device that doesn't support this feature very well.
If you like it anyway, you'll have to look for something else. Maybe in upcoming updates, as a free choice, but don't think so."

Hi guys!
Just FYI, if someone would like to use substratum, you will notice that it is not available in Playstore anymore (or shown as device incompatible). What you have to do is download substratum theme engine 1015 from apkmirror and install it, then install sungstratum from Playstore, and your favorite theme. And finally You're good to go!
With swift black working just fine.
