So I installed XDA-Developer Tapatalk for my NC in order to browse this forum. It's great except that whenever I leave the app. It "loses" the login info. and I have to enter it in again when I restart the program.
There also doesn't appear to be an option to save login/password when I first open the program. Anyone know what I'm missing here?
I can't tell you why it does not work but I can tell you that the full tapatalk pro app works fine and saves my login and favorites and such.
That's interesting. It shouldn't be a problem with XDA tapatalk b/c I have the same app running on my D2 with no login issues.
There iss indeed aa problem though. Both not tiring the credenntials and the back button completely exiting the program when you are reading a thread. Tapatalk works perfectly though.

Guys,
I am having this problem with Tapatalk pro. I can login to this site as an example, then reboot and come back to this site and I receive a login error, and have to login again.
Has anybody made any progress on identifying what the issue is?

Used to work for me till I installed market support, at which time Tapatalk started "forgetting" my password.
Perhaps that might help point to a culprit?
go to settings, more, application manager, all, and clear data, then stop services for google services framework....then go into system update and update samsung software...... you may have to do that up to 10x with a few restarts in between
also you need to at least have 35% battery
works everytime for me!
if you notice after you clear data and go to system update, it shows that it last checked i 1969......this somehow resets the que and puts you in front of the line
Although this update fixed my red hues during black backgrounds, it added the purple blur/smearing thing when scrolling though quickly...at least we know its a software problem and not hardware
Ok...
I'm going to put this here as I did in the 2 other ota threads.. would someone please grab a log of the link (or grab the download prior to try to install) if they are getting propmted so we can get this to look at?
A bunch of people talking about it, no one trying to get it?
Not sure how. I would be happy to grab the download and get it to someone.

Depends on how people are getting the prompt.. Within the other thread, one of the three anyway, there was this post by a rooted user that had the fail..
This would be ideal because it should have been sitting in /cache (as we've seen on other devices) and it could simply have been pulled.
The only other option (and it will probably not be successful without root but worth a try) would be getting a logcat (running log during process), then forcing the prompt by clearing framework in hopes of catching the download link when the prompt arrives and tapping it. Pull log, inpect it for link and go and get it manually.

nope...won't mess with anything....you may need to say yes to a few google permission prompts like accessing your location, etc...but nothing gets erased and no other changes

As soon as I turned off developer options, cleared framework data and forced closed it worked. Thank you!
Do we still yet to have a change log? Hoping for some speed improvements, if even small!
Just got a notification system update downloaded, click to install. Am rooted right now if it makes a difference. Have not actually done it though

Another possible method of grabbing files on a non rooted phone is airdroid app. Connect with PC, choose files folder. By default it will go to the SD card but you can back up and get to the phone's system files after a warning screen. If the theory works, just start poking around the file system until you find the update and download it to the computer. You can't edit anything with airdroid but you can grab files at least if you're not rooted. I've never tried this but did see it show the phone's internal files when trying to get to external storage when the default go to folder was internal storage.
Got my update, turned off dev mode, force stopped google services framework, and cleared data.
So much smoother

I originally had a Galaxy S3 rooted and backed up all my text messages around 30k i was using GOsms pro at the time. Then when i got the my new S5 and recovered all my messages but the stock msging app constantly lags and freezes out but Gosms works with no problems. I've tried to delete all my text msgs cause i thought maybe that is whats lagging me up but every program i use constantly locks up. Does anyone know how i can fix this and delete all my tx msgs?
Thanks
64 views and no feedback. Must not be a problem then
I had a problem with the default one lagging too... just switched to go

Reason i want stock text messenger as well is so i can use it in "Ultra Power Saving Mode" are there any other ones that would work in that mode?
Looks like just stock type apps. I use handscent but didnt see the ability to add it.
Edit...
Google gave me this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751785
NM.. Root needed.

Thanks anyway.
Do you know how I can delete all my text messages through file explorer?
Sms backup and restore app can delete all txts. Do a backup then delete all. Then restore to a certain date. No root needed. Works on my device.

Hello,
I have noticed that my phone keeps reverting back to Google as the device assistance app. I would select none, and some time later it's back to Google. Does anyone know know how to prevent the phone doing that?
Thanks

I figured it out. I had greenify go to force close the Google app, when it did so, the app somehow becomes the default device assistance app. Removing the Google app from greenify hybernation, was the solution.
I have a little issue when tagging people on Facebook, when tagging people the tagging list appears under the keyboard (see attached picture) and it's becoming quite annoying. I'm using original stock oreo, and it happened after the upgrade from nougat to oreo. I asked my friend if he had a similar issue also using note 8 oreo, but nothing.
