I'm new to this device and a little dismayed at the poor battery performance.
I don't consider myself a heavy user but find the battery is almost depleted after 8 hours of so, after being charged.
I can't find a SCREEN ON TIME in the settings so not sure how much screen time I'm getting.
I have received the September update, shortly after getting the phone.
Do any of the custom ROMs offer better battery life?
thanks
If you went into settings>battery it should be there

That's sick. It does look like 2.3 with all the green... I hope it is .
What's more impressive is the '2d 20h 26m 12s on battery' Does Gingerbread boost the battery life????
I think the 2 days is how long the phone has been up since last last boot. I don't think smartphone can be used for that long.

You can see the chart covers 3d 8h 48m, out of that whole time 2d 20h 26m have been on battery. Not all at once. You can see the battery charge go up a few times when it is charging.

Check out this Youtube at about 11minutes in. It is part of gingerbread and looks pretty polished. Great functionality IMHO.

no good for me. maybe your juice plotter is drinking up your juice. try uninstalling it and see if there is a significant difference or try getting into setting in application and then manage application then select running application see if there is some rogue app there running that you don't use and force stop them just beware to force stop running system apps then charge your battery at full and see how much it drain. you may clear up your dalvik cache and battery stats first if you have that option.
That battery life is horrible. I regularly get > 24 hours with medium usage. There are many threads around here on improving battery life.
Yes. Absolutely terrible. Do you remember what you were doing about 7:45, when it started to tank? The temperature seems a little high to me, too.

Better or worst?
Real difference?
Cheers !

Battery life was better on the original Moto G.
Agree the original moto has fantastic battery life .... The moto g 2014 battery life was similar to my old nexus 5 lasts about a day with reasonable use.....
Not bad at all I'd say

Only WiFi and low brightness doesn't count
I barely get over 3.5 hours SOT, with 3G on for the whole morning and WiFi for the rest of the day
A lot of games and a lot of browsing
It still lastes a day though, so yeah it's good

It's autobrightness and I only use wifi because that's what I have still an outstanding result
Does anybody know if the .726 firmware has any issues with low battery life and overheating?? I have the update available but i didn't do it because i red that many z3 compact-lollipo users had problems with battery life. Thanks
Battery Issues
I had an issue when I installed it, battery life was terrible the first day. Something about Mobile Radio Active... I turned off Queue Background Data in Power Management and it seems to be better now. I haven't had any issues with overheating, although I might not be the best person to ask, cause I'm not really a heavy user. Just every day apps.
I installed the update immediately because I got sick of not being able to do anything with my sd card! I don't really see any other reason, so if you don't wanna risk it, don't update!
EDIT: Ignore what I said, battery is still terrible. It appears that lollipop's battery stats is just bad. There is something wasting my battery and I have no idea what

I upgraded my gf z3 to lollipop and the damn phone overheats constantly and has an insane battery drain. It usually drops to 40% by 8 or so for her on normal usage (she barely uses it) but since the update it dies before 9pm. There is something seriously wrong with this and I'll continue looking into this. Really aggravating. And the heat is unbearable.
The setting for MOBILE NETWORK only locations is missing. Anyone know if it's just buried or did they take that setting out completely? Just got the OS 9 update a week or so ago. Medium battery saving still has GPS running. Battery drain is starting to happen. US AT&T Snapdragon version here.

I believe you can access it here, well for just GPS only.

Miscommunication going on with Limey. I do NOT want my GPS on at all but I found the article above already. No way to turn off the gps where you sent me. WTF GOOGLE?! Some of us do not want high accuracy turned on all the damned time. It sucks your battery life away! I went from more like 26+ to less than 20. Think about all those people out there that don't have 4000 Mah batteries? They are going to be @SS out if luck!
