Hey folks,
I've got a Chinese Mi 8 running the official MIUI 10 Global Stable (10.0.2.0 [OEAMIFH]) The device came with version 9.xx and I updated OTA without issue. The bootloader is unlocked. The device was purchased from Goldway.
Since I updated the battery life has been awful and I was looking at sticking a Xiaomi.eu ROM on the device, in the hope that it would fix the problem and some other niggles. The problem I have is that I don't know the state of the anti rollback protection on my device and I don't want to brick it.
When I run the getvar anti command it returns the message:
Code:
getvar:anti FAILED (remote: GetVar Variable Not found)
Would I be correct in saying that the Mi 8 has the anti rollback implemented right out of the box? If so, why isn't the command returning a "4"?
The version of EU I'm looking at is the current MIUI Stable release from September 6th.
Any advice you can offer would be gratefully received. Cheers.

That's mean that ARB isn't enable on your device. So you can switch to Xiaomi eu Rom without issue.
So no number means I'm safe to go ahead?
Thanks a lot, man. Appreciate the help.

I used the flash tool to just go straight over the top of Chinese ROM, just double check you're not locking the bootloader after!!
Check and double check

You can roll back to 9.6.7 as far as I've tested. Not sure about anything previous. Rollback is at 1, so technically not set to active. Make sure you downgrade using the proper global or china ROM based on your phone region. Only downgrade through fastboot ROM partitions, not using recovery versions. Finally, remember not to lock the bootloader during flashing.
Hi guys my device Redmi 9T has preintalled EEA ROM
Iam in Europe.
i want to know how can i install there global stable with A11
i down 12.54 recovery rom i choose intall from package it showing me you can install only official rom
so i need first unlock bootloader ? then install normal 12.5.4 Android 11 global stable fastboot ?
i also see that on 28.12. will be miui13 android 12 beta
so this can be also installed only with bootloader unlock?

yes,need unlock bootloader first.

i unlock bl and install global stable then debloat all works ok nfc not need cos i not using it.
I have the latest MIUI.EU Rom (12.5.10) right now, If I happen wanting to go back on Global Rom, how can I go back to Global Rom? Is there a tutorial on how? Thanks.
Use
https://xiaomiflashtool.com/download/xiaomi-flash-tool-20210226
very easy
It is better to do this procedure with the bootloader unlocked.
Also pay attention to the anti rollback control, where you risk bricking the phone.
If it happens only with the pro version you can act with EDL.
I went from the Vodafone Rom to the European one but it wasn't that simple.
As for the miflash there is a new version of october that works better with the 11t.
