Backlight Bleed - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Does any A2 have backlight bleed? Can't find no information on it, my A2 comes tomorrow to replace my OP6 as I don't need that spec, only use the phone for YouTube and Reddit. Just hoping there is no backlight bleed.

No there's none of that

this is not called bleed man,
it is faded color at the bottom due to stock launcher try poco launcher or any launcher for this confirmation.

I use nova launcher and yes it appears everywhere , browser, Reddit app and other apps. It's noticeable

Can confirm. Tomorrow will be literally the fourth month of purchase. It started today.

Sometimes screen bleeding do occur but after a shutdown for an hour or so it gets resolved

Does this count? If the phone is untouched for a few hours this shows up.

Nexus 4 Screen Impurities

At the top of my screen, there are two spots leading up to the edge where the blacks (can only notice it on blacks) are faded. It almost looks like there's a leak where the light is bleeding though, except there is no light bleeding through. Not sure what it is. My camera picked it up a lot better then you can notice it, but you can still notice it when the screens all black.

If you don't think you have this, I would still point a good camera at it to check, because it picks things up that you don't sometimes.
thats called "blacklight bleed" and ALL sidelit LCDS have this issue to some degree (iphone5, htc one X, even your desktop monitor)... you would need a SAMOLED screen to completely get rid of it

Its an expensive camera that's better discerning than the human eye...
If I can't see it with my naked eye, I'm not too worried about it

Lines /dots on display?

Noticed there are dots on the display the run symmetrically up and across the screen. They are faint but when in direct sunlight they shimer sort of and it's a little annoying. Cant notice in regular lighting. Anyone else notice this or should I try to send back?
I have this too

I have this too, i do not think it is a defect and i do not have any problems with the lines and dots. You should speak to a sony representative and ask them what it is.
I probably should have done a google search before posting. Seems like it is the digitizer. Grid patterns thats how the touch screen works. It's normal. I guess I need to stop being a little girl about this phone.lol

@Notchr302 I noticed it too the other night at a store. Because of the configuration I figured it was the digitizer but I have never seen one so obvious.

Thats screen burn in. Google it if you dont know about it. And no, there's no fixing it. You can even it though to make those images less visible if you can find that image and let it run with inverted colours. Or get your screen replaced.
if more than one saying appears in it, it can not be screen burn in. its an app thats doing it.
If that was screen burn in, how long should the image have been on screen to cause such damage???
It looks like it's using that image (which seems like a Nexus 6 ad) as background image. @HakiimLs are you on stock firmware?
Does that appear on every app that has a white background or only on the launcher?
Have you tried a factory reset?
Thats burn in for sure i have seen devices like this hands on. They sell these at low cost normally than used handsets. This device was on display so i guess it would have been months with full brightness and same screen to cause that. My nexus has some fairly visible burn in too at the nav and notification bar.
Yes its the stock firmware bro

NOTE 8 Screen washed out

Hi,
I bought my NOTE 8 one moth ago.
And yesterday my screen seemed to have broken...
It just happened while I was on the screen, there was no drop or hit.
The screen went green, lost all color and contrast, it seems almost like white with some green color.
I've tried everything. Cache partition wipe, factory reset, flashing android with odin again, etc. Nothing works.
The strange thing is that the Always On screen works like always, screen is fine. But when I wake up the phone it goes green again.
It happened few days after I updated from android 8 to android 9 using Odin.
Any idea how to fix it?

Question What's the black rectangle below the LED flash ?

Has anyone figured what's the function of the blacked out rectangle next to the back cameras, and below the LED flash ? Is it a sensor of some kind, or is it just an athestic addition for looks ? there is no mention of it anywhere.
Xiaomi doesn't usually put fake sensors for looks like other really cheap brands, so I'm guessing it serves a specific function.
Here's a picture to show which part I mean:

It seems to be a laser focus module and anti-flicker sensor.

Where did you get that information ? Any sources I can quote ?
In the teardown videos I saw on youtube there seems to be nothing there, which is weird.

It is a back light sensor. Xiaomi mention about 360 light sensor. You can check this by tapping kernel version and entering into test mode
What is that RED DOT between FLASH and RECTANGLE
Seems to be for decoration purposes.
