Home button customization - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi .. I wanted to know if it exists or you can create an application, root / xposed or not, to customize the home button of the P20pro with root.
I would:
swiping to the right = back
swipe left = recent
a click = to set
double click = menu
a long click = kill app
All with vibration and confirmation sound, thank you

Think there is a Magisk module for that..
Check in XDA labs apps.

Thanks for the tip but I did not find anything .. I also searched among all Magisk modules but there is nothing. If there is another solution, I will wait for it.

Hot Keys

Is there a way to set up hot keys for the keyboard to open specific apps?
What do you mean by hot keys?
Yes, there is a way to do this in combination with the menu key. It comes with the phone where you can press menu+key and do certain things...I've found it before, but I can't seem to do so now.
go to settings>aplications>quick launch
ex:a set to alarm
press and hold search button on keyboard a
vala alarm open.
feel free to hit thanks lol
I would rather make my own hotkeys. Ex. MENU + ENTER completes a url, MENU + W turns WiFi on or off, etc.

Yes, through the above method in the applications sub-menu. Search hard key plus a letter or number key of choice boots an app. For me...
search+...
b = browser
h = handcent
l = flashlight
t = twitter
f = facebook
c = camera
p = poweramp
s = screenshot
y = youtube
Since I function on a 3rd grade level, mine all match up with what they do.

Possible to Change task manager button to menu button?

Is there a option or rom that has a feature to change the task manager button to the menu button?
I hate that there is no menu button. Most apps have a separate menu key, but sometimes I just need my own button.
Thanks.
root phone, xposed additions, can remap all buttons.
If not rooted, long press former menu key to get to menus.

Just did a step by step with drawn on screen shots but just realized I can't post them on XDA Lol. I think I need more Posts or something. Either way. You should see:
1. Buttons
2. Add new Key
3. Press the recent apps button. Click ok
4. Add new condition.
5. Screen on
6. Go to click. Then change it to menu.
7. Go to long press. Change that button or disable it.

Step 6, I only saw app list and nothing that referred to menu.

[Q]How can I change the navbar buttons?

Hi users.
Does anyone has an idea how to change the menu button on the navigation bar with the recent apps button??
Tried g2tweaksbox and when I enter the sub menu in settings to change the layout the settings app gives fc.
Anyone has any other idea or solution to change that button?
Thanks.

Not a total solution, but I don't use the softkeys.... I use pie controls. They stay hidden until you swipe from the bottom , left or right screen sides. With it you can have any button combos, color, size or actions.
Works awesome. Assuming your rooted and use xposed

You need Root permissions, besides the Xposed and module Xstana, next run Xstana and restart phone to changer, I have it installed on my LGL23 and working perfectly

Xstana module only themes your navigation bar and I need to replace the menu button not to theme it.

Capacitive Buttons

Hi,
For people who own a Mi , can we switch the two capacitive buttons?
I would like that the Back Button is on the left and the MultiTask One on the right
There's setting for it, you can switch them, assign them to some other task(short press and long press).

Where is it? I couldn't find any way to switch them. In the settings menu I can only see the setting to assign what should happen when you long-press them

It's the top one, "navigation buttons", you can set overview button on the left, back button on the right, and vice versa.

volume Buttons

My phone is Android 9 and no root.
In my task I want to simulate the pression of volume buttons ( up or down is the same). I can't figure how to do.
The activity: input > buttons > volume up/down gives me error
Taaaak....
That is a root specific one. In order to do what you want you need to select input >keyboard >the key you want. & ignore the key modifier screen.
Screenshot below
Cheers
