A question about Device description on XDA - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, how the title say, i wonder why there is the same description like before the Device released. I mean the OP Text from the Note 9 section on XDA.
"Rumored Specs: The Galaxy Note 9 is a 6.4" phone with a 1440x2960p display. The processor comes in Snapdragon 845 and Exynos 9810 options. The is 6GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB storage options. The main camera is 12+12MP and the selfie camera is 8MP. The battery has a 4000mAh capacity."
Personaly i think, the Specs are official now and not just rumors lol
Its not a big thing at all, but was just wondering why there still stand "rumors". Maybe someome know it better in here.

Russian Galaxy Note 4 Exynos review online

First real review is now online, use google translates to translate the page. Seems okay, the camera is maybe a notch better than the S5's in daylight, definitely in the dark its much better over the S5. Not sure about the OIS, I would like to see the LG G3 4k Vs the Note 4's, I have a feeling the 2nd gen OIS on the G3 will be slightly better than Samsung's first OIS camera.
The review:

The Note 4 camera is much better than on the S5 - it's very obvious when you look at the high-res photos, but even just the bloom on the S5 in the night shots is gone with the Note 4.
OIS looks amazing too!
What I thought was really interesting is the side-by-side comparision of the screen on the Note 3 vs the Note 4 - that quad HD is noticeably better in the closeup.
I can't see any difference in the day shots but it is definitely better in low light. I really want to see how the note compares to the iphone 6 and 6 plus. It is also nice to see the note kicking the iphone's butt on the geekbench scores.

The S5 has very "muddy"details and the Note 4 looks much cleaner with more detail. Look at 100% and you'llyou'll see it no problem.
The review also mentions that there is no delay in the night shot on the Note 4 when it has to apply the noise reduction pass. I'd imagine the OIS helps the Note 4 too.
If the Note 4 is as nice as the Samsung Alpha it will be well worth the wait

Seems the one error in the review is stating the chipset is 20nm. The 805 is still 28nm, but some of the cellular tech is now 20nm.
Unless this review is for the Ex chip. I do not know the fab size for that.

Note 4 Exynos Review
Another Russian review is up for Samsung SM-N910C Exynos variant from HI-TECH.MAIL. What I gathered through google translate is: 1) Best Screen 2) Excellent camera , Sony module with Samsung Isocell technology (!?) 3) Exynos supports LTE-A CAT6 4) Battery same or a little bit worse than Note 3 5) Speaker a little bit better the Iphone 6 ,Note 3 but nothing spectacular here, 6) Strong CPU performance better than SD 805 but GPU is worse than Adreno 420 at least on Manhattan+T-REX gpu tests/scores, no heat problems even in demanding situations

I read that review, but I think we have to wait for more batterylife tests. They did the test with full brightness which is higher compared to GN3. This same site also mentioned that Galaxy Alpha did 11hrs of video playback in their tests, which I never found anywhere else. Also their benchmark number for GFXbench was quite different from other result we saw. Maybe just a firmware issue or improper results.

I guess we are waiting for Anandtech's review to make it crystal clear.

Haha.
When she placed the Note 4 next to her face, I was like "Whoa! Big Phone!"
Then a sec later another thought followed up, "Hm... must be a petite lady!"
I owned a Note 3, so I'm aware of its size
Looks like Note 4 can display better white vs Note 3 from that first Russian review. And zoomed-in text still looked sharp when Note 3 was looking pixelated. Can't wait!

[DISCUSSION] What phone do you buy next time and why?

My biggest reasons to leave Samsung is because of the updates and features that doesn't come to older devices like features of the s7 to the s6. I'm really really sick of samsungs updates always late.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will buy maybe the OP4 or PIXEL 2 or Nokia P1 snapdragon variants for aosp roms.
Nokia P1 : Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6 GB RAM and 23 MP camera, QHD resolution display AMOLED, IP68 water and dust resistance
Pixel 2 : Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6 GB RAM and Dual Cameras, QHD resolution display AMOLED
OnePlus 4/5 : Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6/8 GB RAM and 21MP or 23MP camera, QHD resolution display AMOLED, a 4,000mAh battery
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just want to know what phone you gonna buy next time and why?
Well I just need that old Nokia 3310 again no one can compete with its battery life

Switch from N910c to Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus - is it worth it?

As in the title of the topic - is it worth it? Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus is a mid-range phone but new one. I can not find a comparison of exynos octa vs snapdragon 625.
What is your opinion?

SD625 is old 2 year same 3gb ram like n4..Video record in fullHD but 30fps(n4 can do it better-fullhd 60fps, and there is 2k,4k), non removable bttry, N4 have 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz wifi band, S styles ...maybe not? :/
Im doing the jump myself from a N910P, i think is worth it, SD625 serves enough power and the battery life is tremendous!

The camera and the screen will be a downgrade. Battery life will, however, be much better on Redmi 5 Plus. Although SD625 is not a powerhouse Xiaomi is good at optimizing the speed and fluidity on MIUI so I think 5 Plus will actually feel faster than Note 4 in day to day tasks.
Good luck in getting the boot-loader unlocked and getting a nice custom ROM.
Not that it's impossible, but man, that's a pain in the a** hassle.
https://xiaomifirmware.com/guides-and-tips/unlock-bootloader-on-redmi-5-5a/
I (still) have my Exynos N4 since October 2016 - until today no sign of any problem, including battery. And I burned it with quite a bit of custom ROM's and tweaking.
Big nope
Big YES!

I see that you're in the UK. I'm returning my s20+ because it was an overheating discharging mess. Camera was horrible - oversharpened and neon like saturation. Of course it'd be different if I had the Snapdragon variant. I've pre-ordered the Sony

Only part which worries me is rhe 8gb ram and not 12gb ram but hoping the snapdragon makes up for it

Yeah don't worry about the 12gb Vs 8gb. Using a LG g8s right now and the Snapdragon 855 handles Android like a boss (with 6gb ram). I'm sure the Sony will blow the exynos S20+ out of the water. Was so happy to get rid of that phone. I think more people need to be aware of what Samsung are up to and buy better phones than the junk Samsung are selling in Europe.
I also have the opportunity to choose from s20ultra or xperia 1 ii which showed up yesterday at my carrier store...
In my region we have the exynos... the xperia has sn 865 which is faster, but....im worried about the battery life 4000 vs 5000mah.

Yes cannot deny that 120 hz or 96hz is better , but it also uses more battery

Wouldn't worry about that tbh - sent my Exynos S20+ back for the overheating/poor battery comments already made and went with a OP8 Pro with 8gb ram - no detrimental effect in my usage but the change to the SD has yielded far, far better battery life (about 2-3 hours more SOT on average) and far less hand warming!!

I'm afraid that we'll really miss this handwarming feature during the winter!!
I had the opportunity to the Op8 pro but I think the Xperia was better value for money here in the UK 799gbp + free top of the line Sony headphones included.

Question S21 ULTRA VS S22 PLUS

Fellow readers,
Which Is your opinion , since now days s21 ultra and s22 plus have the same price which you believe is better option?

Except the zoom I have the impression that s22 has better cameras overall.
Tested s21u and s22u, didnt find a big differences when looked on photos in devices. So S22plus cant replace s21u in photo quality, another minus is battery, 5000mah is best Choice when you dont want charge phone every 15h with a moderate usage.

The S21 Ultra has better overall cameras than the S22 base/plus. Also the ultra wide has autofocus and can do macro and a better front camera. If you main focus is on the cameras, the S21 Ultra is the way to go.
Can't live with the 1080p resolution on the plus phones vs 2k on the ultras
Since the camera is what most of you are considering in this thread, I'll add something of my own. As a photographer I like the S21 much better than the S22, but if you are not a professional photographer you won't find any difference and you might even like the S22 much better. Plus, the price of the S21 is much lower.
The only problem I encountered while using the S21 is the lack of understanding of how to take a screenshot, because for some unknown reason the keys on this smartphone model is different from the keys on other models of Samsung smartphones. Fortunately, my friend recommended me to pay attention to this article on how to screenshot on s21 fe https://thecelldesk.com/how-to-capture-screenshot-samsung-galaxy-s21-fe-5g-methods/.
I decided to take this advice and did not regret it, because this guide was very detailed and I quickly managed to understand how to make screenshots on S21 FE.

They really don't compare very well. The S21 Ultra is larger with a bigger display, 1440 x 3200 pixels, 1080 x 2340 on the S22 +, Internal Memory, 512GB w/16GB Ram, 256GB w/8GB Ram on the S22+, 108MP Main Cam Senor 50MP on the S22+, 5000 mAh Battery 4800 on the S22+, Android 11 is more trouble free compared to Android 12. For the same price, S21 Ultra hands down, it's not even close.
