Download :
Download the XSP.zip (ArC) & Your Device XSP Patches(If it's not Xperia Arc/S)
Fastboot the kernel included on the build or (From your device patch files)
Backup your /data contents: contacts, apps, sms, etc. or backup via recovery
Move the XSP the root folder of your sdcard.
Enter CWM and:
- Select 'backup and restore -> Backup'
- Select 'wipe data/factory reset' (MUST DO)
- Flash the zip. To do this, Select 'install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard' and select the XSP.zip
- Flash patches (if you devices it's not the xperia arc
Reboot (first boot will take ~5 mins)

I doubt that, every ROM that comes from a different system needs a custom kernel, and every custom kernel needs an unlocked bootloader to be installed.....

yeah i forgot to make the cybershot up to date! :/ but you can flash it for sure
no problem mate, I uploaded the rom in 45min
ouh and yes, there is a new bootanimation, holo youtube app and do not forget to flash the init.d support!

I agree. I'm not using it (I have a preference for Jelly Bean), but I did try it out and found it to be one of the most beautiful and smoothest ICS ROMs. So it DOES make me wonder why it hasn't got the attention that it deserves.

Installing Mahdi-Rom for the first time, or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery/Team Win Recovery Project - WITH SELINUX SUPPORT!

This is very-very Good ROM, it comes with build-in kernel (modified by author). So it's pretty good and stable. :good:

my phone is xperia ray and installed this rom and I had the same problem so used the carbon roms kernel!!! but in xperia arecs carbon roms kernel not working on this rom!
In general, i could not install the ROM 4.4.4 on xperia arcs phone! because Not find a suitable kernel!!!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
You should be rooted and have custom recovery installed. Follow ROOTING guide and install RECOVERY and follow next steps.
1) Keep it SD card and reboot to recovery.
2) Wipe data/cache and dalvik and then flash the ROM, incase you get a bootloop (which you won't) then reboot in recovery wipe data/cache and dalvik TWICE then again reboot recovery from advanced menu and then install the ROM and reboot.
3) Will work with any recovery prefer using Philz. (Link above)
4) Reboot and keep patience as first boot can take upto 15-20 minutes.
INFINIX ZERO users make sure you have stock boot.img flash this mod first CAMERA FIX and then using SP Flashtool flash stock boot.img or else wait for my mod
NOTE : After Installing ROM will automatically reboot recovery to fix root. Manually reboot to system from recovery
BUGS
- At first boot it will ask to setup device, that time while setting google account keyboard won't work as keyboard is not enabled skip that part and manually enable keyboard later from menu. It'll work fine after that
- After you setup the device it will say "Unfortunately Setup Wizard has stopped" keep tapping on ok continuously and after 3-4 times you'll see a black screen then press home key from device (hard key middle one on your device below screen) and you'll go to home screen. I know you can bypass that! OR to fix this issue just open the zip with any zip viewer and go to system folder then app and delete the "Browser.apk" and install the ROM
- ROM can't take screenshot from "Volume UP or Down + Power Key" but hey Gravity Box is there! :silly:

Q) ROM is having bad RAM management?
A) It is due to so heavily tweaked. Play games then complain if it hangs or not.
Q) Pre-Integrated Dolby still doesn't work?
A) Uninstall it simply using system app remover I added in ROM and install Dolby from this thread.

yes, mine did not work as well. it seems that it does not create the data partition correctly, mine shows that the sdcard0 is unavailable. and hence wont boot.

I really really suggest to delete updater.apk from rom. I'm 100% sure at least someone will flash OTA update....

Try terminal command in post if still install the ROM then format internal memory and if u have an sdcard format it too but make sure their is nothing important u want in them.move them to a safe place first??

I have the same problem when installing apps that require root access.
I tried installing Private Place, which works on my Miui phone.
1. When starting app, SuperSU access is requested and granted
2. App then starts and then crashes going to the boot screen (with MI logo) and hangs. Pulling battery to restart.
Have tried 2 times, the second time the app/phone just hung when trying to apply settings.
UPDATE: In an attempt to post logcats I had to download catlog (can't get adb to work in office)
which did require root and giving that app SU worked OK.
I've attached the logcat, hoping it caught the issue before the device hung - the string relating the the app 'Private Place' is fahrbot.apps.security.firewall. The device goes to a hung bootscreen when the app tries to initialise.
UPDATE 2:
Using another application called 'App Quarantine' has the same problem.
1. Launch app
2. SuperSU request - granted
3. Back to app and bombs out to boot screen and hangs - have to battery pull
There does seem to be an issue with apps that require root.
Any help much appreciated - thanks
