Hi everyone!
I just sideloaded the Pie update to my TA-1062 (Global Rom) of Nokia 7 Plus, and I faced many bugs, so I decided to rollback to Oreo, and everything is working perfect.
Now I am in oreo with August security Patch. But I have seen many peoble who recieved the september patch.
If a check for OTA my device says that I am up to date. So I want to Know if the september security patch is rolled out to everyone or just is still in process of roll out., because we are now in october so soon we should recive the october patch.
My problem is that I don't know if as I updated manually to pie, and then rolledback to oreo, this will give me problems with the OTA's.
Thanks in advanced.
I haven't seen people getting the September patch on Oreo. I thought the September patch came with the Pie update.
Yes there is an Update for Oreo, its a 81MB package, you can check it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/development/ota-nokia-7-plus-ota-links-t3818774 and here https://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones/security-updates

Made my phone uncertified! Beware
My phone is still on stable Android Oreo with August security patch. Every time I hit the check for update button, it tells me I am running the up to date version. I am getting impatient as we are well into October but stable Android Pie is still not been made available to this part of the world.

Off-topic to what you are asking - do you have Google Services (Play Store/Gmail App) working on you phone? if yes, what were your steps for making you TA-1062 Global?
Same here, I've the model TA-1055 and the last update I received is the August Security update. Now my phone said I'm already up to date
Hi,
As far as I know there are two variants of the TA-1062, one without Android One program wich is for China, and other one with the Android one program wich is for Taiwan.
Mine I bought it from Taiwan so it came with Android One, no needed to make any software change.

Hi for sure!
I just downloaded this full image of oreo https://android.googleapis.com/packa...7fa20de741.zip
Then I applied the normal method to sideload: adb sideload ota_file.zip
The update gave me the timestamp error so I just followed this steps from a previos post.
For checking active slot, go to fastboot mode and type fastboot getvar current-slot
For changing active slot, type fastboot --set-active=a or fastboot --set-active=b according to your current slot.
For going into fastboot mode, either press Power+Volume down or type adb reboot bootloader
Afther changing the Slot I was able to apply the update.
It is important to mention that my phone did not boot without wiping data! So I had to make a full wipe! But maybe it was bad luck of me!
Let me know if this helps you!

I am on Oreo September security patch. You won't get the update if Pie is available in your country. You need to sideload the package and it's very stable. Play store is Certified as well.

You need the Odin3 v3.13.1 (attached below) to flash it. (Older versions won't work)
Most of you probably already know this but here's a quick tutorial on how to flash the stock rom after you extract the zip file:
1. Reboot into download mode.
- From PC, open cmd -> cd <your adb directory> -> type adb reboot download
- Turn off your phone, hold down Home + Volume Down + Power Button, release the keys once the screen with the "Warning" pops up
2. Open Odin3 3.13.1, go to options and make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time is checked.
3. Connect your device and hit the Volume Up button to start the process.
4. Go back to logs,
- Click BL and select the file starting with BL (wait for the MD5 check to complete)
- Click AP and select the file starting with AP (wait for the MD5 check to complete)
- Click CSC and select the file starting with CSC (wait for the MD5 check to complete)
(Note: Since this device does not have an LTE modem the CP box will remain empty.
You can ignore the file starting with HOME)
5. Hit Start and wait for the process to complete, keep checking the logs, it should not take more than 15 minutes.
6. Once the device restarts you can unplug the USB cable. The device will now perform the final steps of installation and reboot the device once more.
(The device should finish its initial boot in 5-10 mins)
That's it. Not sure if it can be rooted safely at this moment.
Update:
To roll back to 7.0 after flashing this rom flash this rom: 7.0 T580XXS4BRI1 DBT

I have updated to 8.1.0 and now I can not go back to the previous version: Android 6.
Hi. I have updated to 8.1.0 and now I can not go back to the previous version, how can I remove this version 8.1.0? I have tried by all possible means and it has been impossible for me, now I have to have version 8.1.0 with no possibility of putting Android 6 or 7. I am very worried because I can not go back to the previous version. THANK YOU.
My tablet is: Samsung Galaxy tab A 6 (SM-T580)
My previous android: Firmware Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) - 06-01 - 2016 - T580XXU1APE8

Simply said, you can't. Samsung bumps the bootloader version with every major OS update, and you can't downgrade bootloader.

Weird. This FW does bump the BL version (last 5 numbers of the bootloader version, OS version, year, month and release: 4CRJ8 means 4th bootloader version, third major OS update (C is the third letter of the alphabet), R means 2018 (R is the 18th letter), J is October (J is the 10th letter), and 8 means it's the 8th build in October). My previous BL was 3, so bumping to 4 means I can't go back. But if there are firmwares with BL version 4, but on older FW, you can go back.
I went back to the latest DBT Nougat ROM, which is 4BRI1. So the latest DBT Nougat ROM also has the 4th bootloader of the series.

Still 32
Does this mean we will still be able to flash TWRP and use arm A-only GSI Roms? Which I can tell is a limited number of Roms.
Edit: I would settle for 32bit if it meant everything works and I can run a Pie GSI Rom.
Solved
Thank you very much everyone for the help offered, I have been able to go back to the Nougat 7 version, the problem is that I installed the Nougat 7-PHE version of Spain and Odin3-v3.13.1 gave me an error, I had to download the 7 Nougat 7.0 -DBT Germany and then install TWRP and I have already recovered my Tablet staying exactly as I had before.:good

After extracting the Oreo update, vendor still resides inside the system image. I answered my own question. The update isn't project treble compatible.

There IS a Treble-ish solution that hacks around Samsung's ****ty implementation and uses /cache as /vendor, but it hasn't been updated to these new binaries. Unfortunately they're still 32-bit, and not many (or pretty much, no) GSI images exist for 32-bit. Samsung is apparently consciously trying to keep us on stock firmware.

Most of the stuff would work, yes, but there's little to no 32-bit GSI images available. I'm not even sure if Treble itself works with 32-bit.

Pixel Experience
Descendant
Android 8 Oreo:
AOSP 8.1
AOSP Extended
CarbonRom
DU
LineageOS
Resurrection Remix
XenonHD
Edit: Might be able to compile other ones as long as they have 32bit sources.

You can, you don't need to update twrp (you will lose it anyway), just flash this through odin.
But you'd be better off updating twrp, and flashing a rooted, de-bloated 8.1 which is flashable through twrp.
It has all the stock features, and it's a bit faster in my experience.
You can find the new twrp and the rom in this thread:

UK version updated this morning( OTA update). November security patch. I am a light user, so havent noticed a huge amount of changes, but two what I have noticed so far. 1. When the charger is plugged in , the charge percentage value is flashed for a few seconds in the middle of the screen. 2. When I play Netflix and press home button, instead of killing netflix, if comes into a small screen in the corner . This is nice... Only worked for netflix though..

Well, the gestures are fine... same as the Mate 20 Pro. But these gestures are designed for android 9, the animation of recent applications is the same as android 9 but adapted to android 8. I think to use them well we should wait for the update of Android 9.

Hello friends im courently on android oreo january security patch and its running flawlessly, in a couple of days android pie shoud arive and my question is before i update what shoud i check before update so that i wont have any problems if i dont like it to get it back to oreo (i only know how to use odin would that be inaf or should i check binary code to match before update because i think that it can't downgrade from a higher binery to a smaller or something else)? Im questioning this because i found on gsm arena that a lot of users having all sort of isues after update in their countries! Thank you for your time all the best! :good:
I would recommend that you visit a Cell Phone Store and check out a demo unit of the latest Samsung Flagship running Pie. Or install Pie via OTA on the shop's demo model of the Note 8. Then you can play around with it and see if you like it before deciding if you want to update. If you do any online banking via your mobile device. I would recommend install Pie onto your device anyway, as that will ensure that your device has all the latest patches for it.
There is no store that will alow me to update they demo unit? And curently the only way that i can update is to flash it true odin to some other country. But now my question is if my phones softver is currently hungary XEH oreo january sec.patch and i flash it with russian SER pie february sec.patch and dont like it because on my hungaryan there is not evan one operators bloatware app preinstalled and maybe on russian there is, can i revert? Tnx for your time ?

You could always do right there on the shop without them knowing. I have done that numerous times in the past.
If you install the stock Samsung OS and not a Russian Carrier version. You shouldn't get any Russian bloatware on your device.

In my country there is no chance for that ? and how to know if that russian SER is from operater with bloatware or not.? I had a luck to find this hungaryan XEH that is clean.
Btw my from the box was for dubai/saudi arabia and i didnt get monthly updates and phone wormed up near fingerprint sensor every time phone starts for a minut before cooling down and than working flawllesly so i flash it to hungaryan for that and got everything up to perfection?
Finished! I flashed with russian SER rom and is good! Not a single app in blootware! And i say good insted of perfect because warming when start up the phone is also ON on this version of rom but after a minute from start up everything is perfect! Pie on battery life is amazing and not a single glitch happy with update. Thumbs up!

You would need to unlock the bootloader first before doing this. Which will trigger Knox.
How to do this 'unlock bootloader'?

You don't have to unlock bootloader to go back to oreo from pie!
You will just need to make sure your bootloader is the same version.
Pie firmware N950FXXS5DSB2
Oreo firmware N950FXXS5CSA2
Notice the "5" before DSB2 and CSA2 The 5 is the bootloader version!
As long as that number stays at 5 you can go back to oreo with a factory reset.

TNX million! :good::highfive::victory:
Just one question if i understand i can check numbers on sam mobile before update to keep remain 5 so that i can regularly do security paches until i turns to 6 and then stop updating, and still be able to get back to oreo? With that said i can update to march security update (second picture first firmware)?

The # before DSB2 in N950FXXS5DSB2 is the bootloader version.
Question for you:
So what bootloader is in this firmware N950FXXU4BSA2 and this one N950FXXS5CSA2?
You can go up in bootloader versions BUT you can NOT go down!

I just saw the March update info and I would hold off installing it for now. There is a line in there that says you can't downgrade due to the security policy.....
Wait until a brave person tries it and sees.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Pretty simple, title explains it pretty well. I'm thinking the pie update is coming soon and I'm wondering if I'm going to have issues getting it. I feel like I did something to change it but can't remember what I did. Any help?

You can tell what version of Android it is just by the build number. You can also tell if each update just contains the updated security patch, or if new features were added or updated.
The first part of the build number never changes. It will start with your model number (N950U or N950U1) followed by a region code for your model number (UE for US unlocked or SQ for US carrier models). After that, there is a 5 character build number that changes with each version.
The first character (S or U) tells you if it's a security patch or a feature update. S = Security Patch and U = Feature Update (features added or changed)
The second character (a number) tells you bootloader version. This is important to know when upgrading and downgrading OS versions. You can NOT downgrade the bootloader. 1 = Bootloader V1, 2 = Bootloader v2, etc...
The third character tells you the Android version. This is different for each Galaxy device. A is the Android version that device was released with. (For the Note 8 A=Nougat; B=Nougat with updated bootloader/carrier switching; C=Oreo, D=Pie) Z is for official Samsung BETA program builds.
The fourth character is the year of the build (R=2018, S=2019). This is the same across all Galaxy devices.
The fifth character is the month of the build. This does not indicate what security patch it contains, only what month it was built. (A=January, B=February). Again, same across all Galaxy Devices.
The sixth character is just the sequence of builds that month (1-9, then A-Z)
So, official Oreo build S5CRG9 is:
S - Security Patch
5 - Bootloader V5
C - Oreo
R - 2018
G - July build
9 - 9th build in July
and leaked Pie build U5DRL7 is:
U - Feature update
5 - Bootloader V5
D - Pie
R - 2018
L - December build
7 - 7th build in December
and official Pie beta build U5ZSAB is:
U - Feature update
5 - Bootloader v5
Z - Official Samsung BETA program build
S - 2019
A - January build
B - 11th build in January
So let's break down my current build number, N950U1UEU1ZSAB
N950U1 - Build is for the Factory unlocked U1 model
UE - Region code US Unlocked
U - Feature update
5 - Bootloader v5
Z - Official Samsung BETA program build
S - 2019
A - January build
B - 11th build in January
Always make sure you know what bootloader version comes with each build before you flash it. This is especially important with the leaked builds. If you flash a leaked Pie build, and it is already updated to bootloader V6, you will be stuck there, which will really suck if its a buggy build.
As of right now, if you update to either the leaked Pie builds, or the official beta build, you can easily downgrade back to Oreo using patched ODIN. Just repeat the steps in the OP. But once Samsung updates the bootloader to V6, most likely after the official release of Pie, you won't be able to downgrade.

I'm wanting to get to pie but don't know if I should wait for the official or just figure out how to get a leak. I just don't know what I flashed or if what I did is still an issue. I'm assuming I have a debloated build and don't know if I will get an Ota update

oh boy. If you read the op forum, you would have seen a15 is a test build that got leaked on oxygen updater. Hopefully there's no major bugs and you can update when the final a15 gets released.
Hi guys i have a few questions:
1. If I have the Chinese NE2210 model of oneplus 10 pro, then I can use flash this global ROM to the phone?
2. Do I need to flash a different ROM if my OP10 pro is the 12gb/256gb compared to 8gb/128gb?
3. I heard you do not need to unlock bootloader to flash if you are using the official ROM given by OnePlus, is this true?
4. If I want to flash ROM, my current OS version needs to be any version lower than the desired OS version, whether on ColorOS or OxygenOS
5. If my stock os is COLOR OS and model NE2210 (Chinese model), and I flashed oxygen rom, can I revert back to the STOCK color os version OR any color OS version ? (in case the new flashed rom has bugs or issues on my device)
thank you
file in the link is NA not for Glo/Eu

You should just need to use the uninstall option in Magisk, hit restore images, install the OTA, then install to inactive slot and reboot in order to install the incremental OTA.
I'm on A13 I use oxygen updater and nothings come through for me as yet.

Incremental updates get the OS to exactly the same software as a full OTA of the same version so what you're saying doesn't make any sense.

But it changes only incremental files, it won't install whole system at all. It won't make sense, but it is known to happen on oneplus 10 pro once you are rooted.
