I want to change home screen panel that is selected when I hit the home button. Currently it goes to the panel on the far left but I want to change it. You'd think I could find that on Google in 2 seconds right?
Thanks much for any help!
To change the default panel in stock launcher
1. Tap and hold in the home screen
2. Move the panel to left most which you want to make default panel

Thank you sir but that's not me desired setup. I want three panels with my home screen in the middle. When I press the home button I want it to go to the middle panel. Perhaps that's not possible but I do appreciate the information. Thank you!
I had no idea! In the future I will refrain from using that thread type. Thank you sir for the good information.
If those are your requirements, I would recommend you to use 3rd party launcher

Rickim, In the screen where you click to use one of the options, and you clicked the check box accidently to always use the original home app, a message should have been present telling you what to do. It would have been something like;
Go to Menu>>settings>>applications>>manage applications>>Home and press the 'clear defaults' button.
This will bring back the option for you.
solved thanks
Mr Qman101 thanks for your help,.. its solved...

Purchased my Galaxy note several days ago.
I'd like to know if it's possible to make or 'create' a home screen without any widgets and/or shortcuts. I just want to see my wallpaper on it. In case need a shortcut I'd like to switch to another homescreen where i've configured the shortcuts I need.
Thanks in advance!
Sure, it's possible.

Yes, of course you can! You are allowed upto 7 homscreens in the default Touchwiz UI. All you have to do is select one which has no widgets or shortcuts and have it as your default screen. You can also manually delete widgets and shortcuts by holding the widget and dragging it to the bottom of the screen (dustbin icon).

To preview all your homescreens pinch inwards (similar to pinch to zoom out)..

If you want a completely clean screen, you may have to use another launcher. I use ssLauncher, and it can do that. Others can too, I am sure.
Actually, you can get rid of them. Just tap on applications button from home screen (bottom right button) > menu button > edit > slide bottom buttons away and voila
If you do this, make sure at least the applications button is somewhere on another home screen.
Don't think it's very practical, though.

At this point I have 2 homescreens left. One with the application button at the bottom and the widgets and shortcuts I use most and one with only my wallpaper but still the application button visible at the bottom. As you can understand I want to get rid of the application bottom at the last mentioned homescreen, but that doesn't seem to work. Tapping on the application button the application menu opens, but the application button then is no longer visible and it is changed in the homepage-button.
you might want to look into the app called SwipePad
its awesome for minimalistic homescreen with LOTS of options for quick app access

Thanks for the tip....but I'd prefer to accomplish this without installing an app that changes my lay-out and graphics and also changes it to English. I don't have problems with this language, but I'm Dutch, so I want my phone keep it that way.
Hi all I've just this problem and I've searched the forum without notice.
I cannot exit edit mode on UCCW
I know that I've to tap menu but THERE'S NO MENU ICON OR BUTTON.
I've only New / Open on the top right no vertical dots that I can see in various screenshots.
I tought that is a free version and maybe the pay version allow to save but there's only one free version on market.
Could you please help me?
Thank you
EDIT
Solved it is on my phone button the bottom left on home button (SGS2 for those who may have the same problem).
I have the same problem! No menu button in my UCCW app? I can't seem to find it! Where is it?
Thanks in advance
I switched last weekto the AOSP Oreo build for our beloved OnePlus One. So there I'm missing the possibility to customize hardware button remapping. Since I also don't like to waste place on my screen with the navigationbar, I polished up an app I developed once for my old Samsung Note 1.
VSB places a virtual button on the bottom of your screen (the grey circle in the screenshot). You can hide it and you can change the size. This button will always be there. So, now you can attach different events on different triggers of that button.
Triggers:
click
long click
double click
swipe up
swipe left
swipe right
Events:
Nothing
Home
back
Recents
open notifications
open Quick settings
open power menu
lock screen
open volume panel
To do this the app needs the following permissions enabled:
android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: to show the button over other apps, otherwise you could not click it
android.permission.BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE: to trigger some events (home, back, power menu, ...)
android.permission.ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY: to open volume panel during "Do not disturb" mode
Downloads:
In the third post.
The app is complete open source: https://github.com/scoute-dich/VirtualSoftKeys and a heavily modified fork of VirtualSoftKeys, which is licensed under the Apache License.
The app can be used on any device running Lollipop+. I just want to share it, because for me it's usefull and I hope for some of you also. This is my way to say thanks to all other developers and to give the great community on XDA something back. If you have suggestions or if you find some bugs, just tell me here or open an issue on Github.

If you could add open app drawer, this would be perfect.. I know I'm a small case scenario, but your dot will interfere with my layout (see screenshot).. If there's an app drawer ( or select app) feature, it'd be amazing.. Oh, and moveable too..
Volume option takes me to do not disturb option, not the volume panel..

1. I don't think, that opening the app drawer is possible. I can't call "a launcher method" from outside the launcher. In my setup the dot also interferes with the open drawer function. But with my launcher (Flick launcher) it's possible to swipe up on the dock to open the drawer. Perhaps you have a similar possibility?
Also with your current settings it should be possible to touch the open app drawer button without clicking the VSB.
2. Moveable would be nice. I will look out for possibilities, when I have the time. At the moment I'm very busy at work and don't have much time. Also this app has a lower priority than other apps, I already published on PlayStore and F-Droid, which also have some outstanding issues to solve.
3. The thing with the volume panel is strange. I used the app on different Nougat and Oreo roms. And it always opens the "ringtone volume slider"...
But anyway, thanks for your feedback. I promise to take a look in the second suggestion.

Galaxy A71, Android 12, One UI = 4.1. When I first got my Galaxy A71, the recent apps button showed a vertical stacked overlapping list of my recent open apps. This was great. For some reason, this display was replaced by a horizontal slide list that only shows 1 open app at a time. How to go back to the vertical stacked overlapping list of open apps?
Can a custom launcher do this?
See the left side of the top pic to see the open app display I want. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/11/android-5-0-lollipop-thoroughly-reviewed/6/
Try using Good Lock (or NiceLock) + the Home Up module. It should let you customize the recents style (called Task Changer inside Home Up)
