My phone is under oreo (PRA-LX1 8.0.0.360(C33)) and when I activate flash on camera in light writing mode it does nothing tried resetting camera app with no results.
Do you experience the same issue ? or it's just my unit ?

I recently updated my Galaxy S to v2.2 (JPH firmware) using Kies. I also rooted my phone using the relevant file and applied One-Click Lagfix V2.2.
I was very happy with it, except I tried using my device's main camera today and it doesn't work properly any more. Prior to the FW update, it worked just fine.
Now, each time I take a picture, the camera app appears to be working -- I can focus and so forth -- but once I press the shutter button, it seems to be processing and then I get a broken picture icon in the middle of the screen.
Unlike others in this forum, I don't get a "camera failed" message at all, just the broken icon.
I've read various posts on different forums as well as this one and have tried the following:
uninstalled OCLF,
switching from SD card to phone memory
re-flashing camera firmware
I'm not absolutely certain but I don't think it's the Camera apk because I tried taking a shot with the front camera and it works fine.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, what steps did you take to solve your problem?

My camera bad yet.and update faild. why?

i know there are already a lot of questions about broken Cameras i read them all but nothing works... maybe i missed somthing but after 30 hard resets i dont know what i should do.... so maybe someone can help me...
My Camera App (Stock) after i take a photo it freeze then it goes Black and restarts the application then everything works fine again... if i turn on the light every thing works great! But i dont want to always use the light..... somtimes its terrible. 2. Problem if i change any settings it also freeze and restarts somtimes it restarts to Blackscreen and i need to clear Cache and stop it manual, then it works again in normal mode...

The Device cames from Vodafone after i found the error i thought installing a Stock rom (debranding) it will work but it doesent helped...
I tryet some other apps other apps will work BUT i want the functionality of the stock app... so i hope anyone can help me out!
I already try the Hard reset and Cache reset with and without rebooting the device... also i did the taskmanager kill (stop application).
what stock rom exactly you installed and what other apps that work for you instead of camera app ??

So basically my camera stop working. Two days back update the phone to the latest firmware (Android 9) and security patch (March 1). Installed TWRP and rooted with magisk. So far everything was working fine. Today needed to restart the phone and after the restart my camera disappeared. In camera app I get just black screen without error. Same thing happen with third party app. Trying in safe mode, same results. In an app
iDevcheck under camera tab there is nothing, no information at all.
Ideas?

If it was me, I would flash stock filmware with Odin to see if it resolves the issue, if it does not, it is probably a hardware issue, in my opinion, or maybe the camera ribbon cable has disconnected somehow.

This is what I discovered today. Still kinda think it's a software issue. At the moment don't have the chance to flash stock firmware.

Factory reset?
Factory reset did not helped either.
I guess something went wrong during the rooting process.
Hi, recently i had a problem & faced bootloop that's why i flash a fastboot rom & then again flashed the latest version of the custom rom i was using. After few hours i noticed that none of my sensors were working, although i have fixed this sensor problem now by flashing the persist.img file from fastboot rom but still selfie camera problem is there.
I tried controlling is manually using an app it's working perfectly then but generally at the time of video calling or switching to front cam it's not even working for once.. please help me how to fix this problem!!

Hi i need help desperately from the experts her e.
After updating to global 12.5.8 miui the phone front showbox camera not working, no sound at all, not even in bluetooth and headphone jack. Most annoying thing is the youtube video maxed out at 720p. Even in youtube vanced. speed test

I have the same issue. Still waiting after 7 days to unlock boatloader and downgrade the stock rom to 12.0.1 and I hope it will fix the problem.

i started having issue with my camera after 12.5.9 update my default miui camera app would close after clicking one photo although it was working in other camera like snapchat or fj camera. But few days after 12.5.10 update both front and back camera completely stopped working.
I unlocked my bootloader to downgrade the rom or flash custom rom as this seemed like a software issue . But after a week when i downgraded to my surprise the issue was still there which implies that the camera hardware has failed . So i dropped the idea of installing custom rom and instead went to service center, now they are replacing the motherboard as its hardware issue . I am gonna get back my phone today from service center so will update you guys accordingly .

Its weird that software update can cause hardware bug but what i think is that with the update kernel setting might have been changed which can cause over voltage to camera module or something. Its my wild guess i don't have much idea about it . I would love to know it from experts out here .
