do you have to root in order to install a custom ROM such as darky's?
Guys i flashed havoc and cause i wanted to revert back to miui i flashed the 8.12.20 but in miflashed i forgot the clean and lock and now my bootloader locked. I was wondering what i can do now to fix it? Because i cant flash any rom now, is there any possibility a chinise dev rom to work?
Hello,
I was using an Oreo crDroid custom rom for a while until I decided to upgrade to a Pie Havoc custom rom. Now the FP sensor doesn't get recognized by the rom.
I read that I need to downgrade my FP firmware to nougat base, how do I do that ?
I'm currently using the Havoc rom, everything is working but the FP sensor.
Thanks in advance!
You need to flash
For Oreo bootloader (deprecated): FPb-sign.zip

There are so many versions of oreo firmware for sanders on XDA.
Which one is to go for?
Or which one is the authenicated firmware?
Plz mention the best one as i am planning to flash a custom rom for the first time and i need fingerprint gestures the most.

Flash the Pie Havoc rom, then the file I attached, and then TWRP.
Reboot recovery and continue with the flashing.
That worked for me.

I think the order should be:
1. Intall twrp recovery
2. Flash oreo bootloader zip file
3. Flash rom

No, read the pie threads.
You have to flash rom, twrp
reboot twrp
flash gapps and magisk
But read the first post of the thread's rom you'll be flashing.

You can find fixes in Moto related channels ( many developer made their own fix )
Hello All!
I would like to ask if it's possible to install Vivo Y66 stock rom to my Xiaoimi Redmi 4x as I already forgot my MI account and it auto locks whenever I connect to wifi. I already did the test point and flash it using MIflashtool but it is still getting lock so I flashed it again. As I search for an alternative solution, I saw that Vivo Y66 have the same prog_emmc_firehose_8937_ddr so Im thinking of flashing Vivo Y66 instead of the Xiaomi Redmi 4X stock rom.
You cant flash one device firmware to another. however if someone port rom specifically for Redmi 4X then you can flash if porting done right.
if you are having trouble to get logging in into mi account reset the password and try again, this works just fine and later you can unlock bootloader and can flash custom rom but you cant flash any other firmware just like that on two different device.
if your device's bootloader already unlocked then flash custom rom, there are many to choose from.
Due to some banking apps now detecting and not working with custom roms (even without root) I am using Xiaomi V2 tool to download the official rom and flash it back. I was using the xiaomi . eu version. It will be missed
Two questions:
1. Just installing stock global rom will work with apps that detect custom roms? It will say it's an oem licensed OS or i need to relock the bootloader too?
2. Is relocking the bootloader doable in this device?
Thanks.
Just did and it worked fine. Thanks!
