Any ideas?
Same problem was present into v3.6 of AA in my Honor 9, now on latest 3.7 is fixed.

Got even worse now, cannot even open AA on my phone without crashing out

I am running version 3.7.584044
I have this issue on my Honor 8 with EMUI 8.0. It typically crashes on the contacts tab. Once in a while, it hangs Android Auto for a while and the contacts tab eventually loads, but if I try to use it, it crashes. I'm on 3.7.584044.

I recently bought an Honor 9 Lite.
I installed all my usual apps, however some of them won't open up on my Honor Lite. These apps worked perfectly fine on my older android phone.
The apps that won't even open up and crash are: Eurosport Player and Transport for Edinburgh (bus times/location app). The permissions for this app (such as location) are allowed.
Yesterday I tried a factory reset of the phone. I reinstalled the Eurosport player and it worked! Then all the automatic updates happened and now the Eurosport player won't even open.
I also tried clearing the cache/memory, but this doesn't help either.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I have 8.0.0 android version.
Same issues
I'm experiencing similar issues with my apps since the recent EMUI update to LLD-L31 8.0.0 128(C432). Apps that previously worked perfectly well are either not opening at all (The Word for Today) or are not functioning correctly (Android Auto - which is no longer able to load up Google maps from within the app). I haven't tried all of my apps yet, but am really hoping for an imminent update that will fix these issues
The most recent version is .131, so see if you can update.. may already be fixed.
Hi everyone,
This week end I updated my P20 pro to Pie. Since then Waze in android Auto doesn't work. When I input any routes it always get stuck on: "Proceed to highlighted route". Google maps works fine but I prefer Waze.
Waze on the phone itself works flawlessly. Only appends on Android Auto. It was working fine before. I also had this problem with my old phone: "ZTE Axon 7".
My car is a Honda Civic SI 2017 if it matters.
Anything I can try to fix this?
Thx
Turn off automatic power management for AndroidAuto, Waze (and anything else you want not to be stopped constantly) Settings -> Battery -> App launch.
Also, go over the app (AndroidAuto, Waze) permissions and make sure everything is in place Settings -> Apps -> Apps.
P.S. If it doesn't help you can try clearing the phones cache or reinstalling the apps.
Thx for your suggestion.
I turned off the automatic power management.
The permission seems to be ok. Android auto has permission to everything and waze to "location".
I will try it after work if it makes any difference. If it still doen't work i'll try to reinstall. But I did that in the past with the Axon 7 to no avail.
thx
I read somewhere dual apps can cause problems, so I deleted my only dual app on the phone (WhatsApp) and made sure that "user 999" is no longer there ("pm list users" shows only user 0). But the problem with Android Auto still persists.
It simply crashes after the initial configuration. Then subsequently every time I tap on the icon to run it, it crashes and quits right away.
I cleared data for both Android Auto and Google play services. Same problem.
I did some debloating when I started using the phone before installing Android Auto. Could this be the issue, that I debloated something that was essential to Android Auto's operations?
I also have Magisk running on the phone. Tried hiding Android Auto (Google Play Services is already hidden). Same problem.
Any help appreciated ! Running MIUI EEA 10.2.26 by the way.
Found the issue.
In app permissions I allowed the app to access calendar. But I have removed Google calendar from the system with adb tools (I use Outlook so Google Calendar becomes redundant). I guess Android Auto assumes Google Calendar is always there so it crashes when it is not found.
I disable the calendar permission and everything works now.
Hello,
Today I was unfortunately forced to update Android Auto to 7.8.622514-release. My Android Auto was running really stable with 7.5 (and I had really bad experience with 7.1 and 7.3 --> therefore I'm absolutely no fan of this forced updates).
I checked the functionality with a second phone with the app "Headunit Reloaded".
I noticed that I have a now the "Google" app available in Android Auto.
But it seems to me that the app has no function at all. I just have the message "no new messages during your drive".
Moreover it also does not appear in the launcher settings on my phone. Therefore I can't even deactivate the Google app.
Does anyone else have this? Does anyone know what kind of function the app should have?
I really do not think that I need this app. I prefer to have a clean Android Auto. Is there any other way to deactivate this app from Android Auto?
Thanks a lot.
Update: I also noticed that the Google Assistant shortcuts vanished and can't get brought back...Where are my Google Assistant shortcuts now?
Update 2: now after using Android Auto today for some drives in my car, everything is normal again. The Google app was gone after the 2nd drive and I could add my Assistant shortcuts again after the 3rd drive. I'm really curious why this happened...
I just hate these forced updates.
Google Assistant in (wireless) Android Auto will transcribe my words, but will not act on them, and it will not read messages or the weather aloud. This has been a consistent problem through every version of Android Auto I've used. Does anyone know how this might be solved? I've cleared the cache on the Google app and the Android Auto app, and even tried a fresh install. Phone is a Pixel 4 and the stereo is an Atoto F7XE.
