Since the pixels killed the notification LED this year, are there any magisk modules that make Always On Display more useful, or maybe even create a virtual notification LED on always on display?
I am wondering the same thing...
Anything out there or in the works???

Hey guys, as you all know, there usually is no way, of how to control led brightness and duration in a stock ROM, except for Zeus ROM. Now I just found a way, of how it probably could be controlled, but I dont know, how to set it correctly... Just open the hidden menu (3845#*970#), then go to device test, scroll all the way down, to LED current control and there you can set different things, but I dont know, how to set it correctly... can anyone explain the settings maybe or even build an easy to use app, which would allow all of the stock users, to control the LED brightness and maybe even the brightness of the LEDs.
And I also discovered, that with some random settings i chose, my softkeys all are illuminated blue, which I like very much, maybe also a feature, that is settable somehow... Would be really cool, if we could use this somehow. There also are some paths, that show, which file is being used, but it doesnt tell me anything, so maybe someone here can take benefit of it I hope so
I would love yo have them all blue
hmm, I don't get the point. when you control screen brightness, it's leds brightness logically... I mean, it's global. decreasing brightness decreases luminosity of leds light. backlight is about zones or areas.
My point is, I first of all want full control over the Softkeys. I want to be able to set color, duration or permantent light and also the brightness of the softkeys. I for example would like to have them blue at full brightness and permanently illuminated, since I hate it if they go out completely and I miss the right button... I know, it's not that much of a deal, but dont you think as well, that it would be cool, to be able to control it? It's not about the screen brightness, but only about the softkeys. Get what I mean and want?
okay I see. there is the notification app already which control a part of softkeys. maybe you could understand how to control them if you're able to decompile the app to see the source code ?
Hi, I have question regarding the notification led.
I have set it to green for notification and red for warnings but I still see sometimes blue light for notifications, why? Is there also any method to change colors for different apps? And if I get 2 notifications from 2 different apps with diffetrent colors what then? Who has priority or maybe it will blink in 2 colors one after another? (that would be great)
Hi,
to get custom led notifications you need a rooted P2 and Light Flow (find it on google apps)
I want to thank Andrew Moore (Light Flow)for taking the time to look at this with me and pointing me in the right direction
New (upcoming) version of Light Flow supporting "large" numbers for RGB led brightness will be available soon. Otherwise you may want to edit the backup file as per this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/vibe-p1/how-to/led-fix-custom-roms-t3569108
1>Disable led notifications on you device (Display)
In Light Flow
1> enable Direct mode and root
2> enable rgb led
3> set the rgb brightness to any the following for your notification:
Bright red:13631488
Pale Blue:6316128
Crabapple Red (pink):11796512
Orange:12607488
Green: 35840
Cyan Blue: 32896
Sea Blue: 8388
Dark Purple : 3876477
Before Andrew put me in the right direction, I tried different brightness levels with mixed success. As you see from above, the numbers have no logical sense (at least to me).
If you do find additional colors, please post them in this thread.
HAPPY CUSTOM LED NOTIFICATIONS EVERYONE
Here are the "reference colors"
Works also on custom roms. Thanks for the guide!
Thanks for making the LED work! But I'm stuck at the brightness levels part... In the notification settings per app, under the light settings, I can only set 4 numbers and you give a whole lot more. What am I doing wrong?

As I said, light flow at the moment only supports 4 . Andrew (the maker of light flow) will update the app asap. If you are in a hurry., use the backup/modify./restore method mentioned in the first post. Just change the brightness level. It works.
Hi, any chance to set the red color too (the red color the LED shows when charging)?
Found it in the first post Sorry!
Useful 10x.
Thanks for the tip and tutorial, I got a bit confused on where to set the RGB colors (in the individual notifications) but it's working well now. Also the battery charged threshold was set at 90% by default so it popped up as green when I plugged in at 92%
It is only working in Test for me. Can someone send détailled settings?
Thanks
Did you make sure it was active? If it is you'll see a notification in the pull-down list.
This is really cool, definitely will use a custom Rom because of Light Flow.
Working thanks
Could someone tell me where I insert the RGB values?
I have a rooted Lineage 14.1, but all I can select is one colour with RGB enabled...
There is only one colour available per application, ie e.g. Signal has blue (which works), agenda as well, but Gmail has black... And that's not showing of course
Edit: I edited the settings manually and imported them again as suggested in the opening post, we'll see how that goes...
Does it work with free version of Lightflow?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlegacy
Works for me with the legacy version. But there is also a "light" version of the newest release.
Currently, I see heavy battery drain due to light flow; the device never goes to sleep. Maybe, this is different with the light version... I will try.
Edit: same battery drain issue with the light version...
This does not seem to work with the latest version of the app(I even bought pro). I followed all the steps but it never works. Is there something I'm missing? after enabling rgb control i setup a notification and in the setting's light tab i enable the light and set the rgb LED to solid and set the color to one given in the first post(none of them seem to work). I then use the test button but LED does not turn off(tried both - turning screen off and keeping it on). Any Help?
@Uibon
Me neither.
Edit: Legacy is working, but only when screen is off. I'm rooted of course rooted (Magisk) and I have the "screen on" option ticked.

The title says stock?
Those of you who reported it working, does it work when the screen is on as well?
Edit: Missed calls, incoming call and other things related to the system is working when screen is on. With Textra (and other apps?) it only works when screen is off.
Thanks for the instructions and links.
I bought the app (Just Rs 10).
Cant be more worthy purchase.
All working good.
hi can someone help i have been able to set a few app leds and they work properly but whats app i set to green but it is not working i have also disabled the led setting in whats app settings but still not flashing green for whats app message?
I looked to see if I could find this answer on here and on Google please flame away if it's a repost. In the chroma app I set the led color to red. I tell it to pulse if I get a notification, but the pulse color is not the color I selected it is a light blue is this normal?
Thanks
The colour you set in Chroma is just for the passive effect. When you get a notification it tries to find the most prominent colour in the app's logo which sent the notification and uses that. It's meant to make it more useful than a plain old notification LED since you can intuitively determine which app sent the notification just by looking at it.
So yeah, that's normal

Gotcha I will pay closer attention to it seems a little odd to use light blue for Hangouts which is green. Maybe it's just not that accurate
Would someone please tell me if there's a notification indicator on the phone, so I could see if a message has come in from across the room? I've seen reference to a flashing light on the top of the phone, but can't get confirmation of this. If it's there, is it effective? (There's no AOD, I don't think?) Thanks!
There's AOD and the pop up camera has a notification light

There is AOD I believe,
The notification light will be visible as a small ring on top of the pop up camera, visible only from certain angles bit not from front,
Suits me better because I just need to see from a away from the table after shower or when it's on charge
There is AOD? Oh, that's fantastic - thank you. I wasn't at all sure from the reviews. If it has AOD, I'm in. Can the notification light change colour, depending upon notification type?
There is aod , as far as i've noticed atleast on my blue version led in popup camera is blue color, didnt really noticed if it changes color.
