Obviously the battery is faulty. Is it a genuine Samsung one or one of those cheap Chinese knock-offs ?. Dont use the battery again or you may destroy your phone next time.

I am seeing a trend of bad stock batteries,
people please dont go buy new ones but hand them in for warrantee replacement. That way Samsung knows there is a qa issue

Why my samsung galaxy mini heat up when during charging mode? :| Whole phone becomes very hot.
Lack of info. Stock? Rooted? Which rom? Overclocked? Underclocked? Change voltages? Governor setting? Which kernel? Swollen battery? Wakelock? JB? ICS? I can do this all day.

Stock
Yes Rooted.
Rom - Original
Not sure about other stuff ;D
Go to your settings, then battery. See if there is anything eating up alot of battery or causing a Wakelock. Could be an app or game you have that's causing it. Could also be the battery going bad if it's been over charged or gotten wet. There an app in the market that shows how and when apps run, and it shows the battery they use. Sadly I can't remember it's name, so hopefully someone will chime in and let you know. It should help single out a "bad" app.

There is Phone Idle which uses 45% of my battery
Cell Standby which use 48% of my battery
Display 5%
Download Better Battery Stats from the market (or elsewhere) to find out more specifically what's eating up resources. Since you're on a stock rom I believe your problem is either a bad battery, or an app/game.

You must get virtually no signal. That could also be the problem.

hey try this method ...
1 .. do not overclock
2 .. do not put ur mob in cover
3 .. do no over charger means remove charger when mobile is showing full charge ,
4 .. (funny one) if possible , try to use mobile without back cover for five min in between 1 hour ,
5 .. use good rom for ur device
this is very easy steps u can use it normly ... if it happen still i will prefer u to go for service centre ...
1 .. do not overclock
Nothing wrong with it if you know what you're doing.
2 .. do not put ur mob in cover
Nothing wrong with a case. If it leads to overheating then there is a different problem.
3 .. do no over charger means remove charger when mobile is showing full charge ,
I agree 100%.
4 .. (funny one) if possible , try to use mobile without back cover for five min in between 1 hour.
Nobody does this unless there is already a problem.
5 .. use good rom for ur device
This is a matter of opinion. Stock, or a vetted rom. Up to the user.
1, 2 and 5 don't apply to him. 3 is important for him. 4...couldn't hurt I guess.

I did little check. So it happens not all the time. Today I charged my phone and everything was alright.
Few days ago I have charged my phone with Blackberry's charger could this cause the problem?
Yes, it could have. Chargers are different. Always use the one designed for that specific device.

Is charging voltage of the charger exactly the same as the one ur battery needs? Original samsung charger has got 5.0V
Abandoned, and not even a thank you for your help or time. Tis sad.

Don't use your phone too much (especially YouTube) if you're charging; also, don't place your phone on cloth eg: blanket, bed, under pillow etc.

Hey guys,
I replaced my battery with a new Samsung battery for note and it seems to be working fine. But at times, or may be every time i put my phone on charge, it heats up a lot and doesn't charge at all, when i notice, i unplug it, switch it off and charge again and it works.
Any idea what is going wrong? This never happened with the battery. Also this new battery takes almost 4 hours to get fully charged.
